It's an extremely difficult game that not many people finish, but marries that to be a pleasure to play. Deceptively difficult to look at too initially. Uncompleted - probably Dark Souls. Blight Town defeats me every time. However, that remaster is coming... Speaking of which, honorable mention on the completed stuff to Dark Souls 3, which I **** loved overall and managed to do a few things people struggle with easily - Aldrich down first time . Well, I guess I cheated, because I did it on an emulator which I think allowed me to save it more than you could in the real game. But it was hard as shit. Uncompelted - Goldeneye on Double Agent (was that the hardest difficulty). Tried this, on and off, over about 10 years. no joke. Could only ever get up to that level where you start in a cell and have to escort Natalya and protect her when she's hacking a computer at the end. **** dumb bitch. villa4europe Posted February 2, 2018 Share Posted February 2, 2018 there were a fair few old nes / snes games that from what i can remember werent particularly hard but i was younger and you couldnt save progress and had to do it all in one play through making it harder, super ghouls and ghosts for example, loved that game but I've never completed it i've done a couple of the monkey island series which arent hard gameplay wise but can be taxing on the brain and felt like a sense of achievement, cant do grim fandango without going online hardest game ive completed though...battletoads Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

One of my greatest achievements is unlocking invincibility by completing Facility on 00 Agent in something silly like 2 minutes. In order to complete you basically have to strafe around the level and if you so much as bump into a wall you need to restart. I nearly scored once, but it was a penalty and I think I held the power button too much and the shot just ballooned over the bar. My best result so far is 47-0 to Qatar. I think it's the only game that is somewhat infamous for being hard I've completed. Although if memory serves it was actually the easiest of the Super Star Wars games. Although I've been a gamer for over 20 years, I've never been particularly 'good' at games. Final Fantasy Tactics and Xenogears spring to mind as well, as they both feature horribly unfair boss fights, but they can be negated somewhat by grinding. So it's a much different 'type' of difficulty to a platformer / run n gunner / scrolling shooter where you have no margin for error.
