He can't do 6 in a calendar year now either or the 7 in a row which I'm sure he'd done with barca

And then will complain about fixtures and players needing rest but then not make a single sun in a match.

Plenty in Bham city centre now too.

I wouldn't mind but the colours are God awful

It actually looks like a dodgy jersey you would get in Spain

Mixed with the shit colours then its a dream 😂

8 year contract? Thought this sort of thing that Chelsea had been up to recently was no longer allowed, or am I way behind the times....?

Contract length is ok, the just cant use it for ffp. Thats 5 years now. I think...

so chelsea will now have the 2x most expensive central midfielders, 2x most expensive left backs and the most expensive GK

they'll have 7 of the top 50 transfers, only man utd have more

And their squad is still shit.

Their transfer business recently has been absolutely bizarre

(I know Caceido does fill a position they're missing but still)

They had to start Chukwumeka and Gallagher yesterday in midfield and they've got Brighton's sub keeper from last season in goal

What’s happening at Chelsea is really bizarre. As Stevo says, they have spent MEGA money and the squad is still patchwork, and it’s patchwork without much world class talent.

IMO they still don't have a proper goal scoring number 9 if they push lukaku out of the door, got plenty of wide men who will get say 1 in 4 but no actual striker

their best CB is 39 years old

It’s why teams like City will keep pulling away. They have the financial backing AND clever people behind the scenes who know how to get the deals done on good players (within or outside of the rules is up for debate).

Chelsea have massively distorted the market again. Does anyone have a breakdown of net spend?

Under Boehly without the latest signings.

Mancini going to Saudi Arabia for 40 million a year over 3 years, of course he has no problem with blood money as seen from his Man City days but another sad day for football to see Italian football set aside for them.

He was under massive pressure and was not that far from getting the sack after missing the World Cup and not making a good start to the Euros

I think he jumped before getting pushed

Across six live matches broadcast on TV over the season’s opening weekend, the 11 to 14 August, viewers were shown 6,966 gambling messages, including logos on shirts, pitchside hoardings and commercial breaks. Of those, only a fifth were accompanied by a message supporting safer gambling, according to the study.

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/sep/19/football-fans-gambling-messages-premier-league-opening-weekend

The article also brings up real concerns about how gambling companies don't disclose advertising in their content online. There's an overwhelming amount of gambling adverts on SSN and TalkSport has at least one gambling advert on *every* ad break.

said in the match thread at the time watching the Burnley vs man city game, Burnley had 2 different gambling sponsors on their shirt and training kit (which I'm sure someone said was actually the same company) and then at least 2 more showing on the advertising boards and then sky did their win % calc thing whoever sponsors that shite now and then whatever they show at half time

it was definitely noticeable to me
