So they offered him a new deal before they qualified for a World Cup?? After that dreadful humiliation how can he still be employed after this?

what a idiotic and mind boggling decision. Mon out.

Worked for Italy and Ventura to be fair. Wait. What.

Tough one as the Irish team isn’t that good at all, so the manager has to be economical with when to push sides etc.

But yeah, completely the West Brom of International football.

Christian Eriksen though

Oneill should go but in fairness they haven't had a decent striker since Keane and this crop of players are nowhere near the level they had say under Jack Charlton

Nice bit of banter from IKEA who are responding to among other things a few Twitter campaigns by fans in Italy to boycott them after Sweden's win against Italy.

And among them my favorite one by and Italian singer Loris Diamante (no idea who that is but he's funny) for people to take so many free pencils that IKEA go out of business :D

On their Facebook site IKEA are posting this picture with the caption:

"To apologize we are gifting this bench to Gian Piero" (the Italian manager)

Edit: Also congrats to Denmark, cracking display!

Yes one of the power house nations of World football. I would put them only behind Brazil and Germany. Ok Spain and France have had success in the last 20 years but from Italy have been there for longer. They had another iconic goalkeeper who when they won the world cup in 82 was 40. Dino Zoff!  In fact the 82 world cup win was the most amazing I have seen given the strength of the opposition that year.

That was a cracking win in fairness. Bravo Denmark. Showed their class. Glad to see a side properly deserve to progress with distinction rather than grind out a bore win.

Denmark always try to play good football but MON halftime changes gave them the game. At 2-1 we still in it but taking off 2 centre midfielders released Eriksen

Yep that Aston Villa 1994 team they had was pretty decent.

Yes to give a world class player like Erikson that type of space was bonkers but there again he would be blamed if he didn't go for it.
