Alonso just had an absolutely massive crash can't believe he's alive let alone walked away from that, car is a mess, did at least two flips in the air at full speed. Really can't get into now for the 2 main reasons. 1 Hamilton (who I used to really like) is a grade A bellend who I'd love to see get chinned after 1 of the races) and 2) the dominance of Mercedes. That's not a clever combination. There's only so long you can shout "SHINY SHINY SHINY" at your fans before they realise it's a pile of poo and walk away in ever larger droves. It still has the same problems at has had for the past decade. The only credit I give it after the last race is that it WAS so decisive in reversing what was a bad qualifying format. Not as if the current set up has seen unexpected wins, money still buys the best product. Might as well let them roar around as fast as possible. Still have a budget overall to give smaller teams a chance, but let the designers go nuts. This is their next big attempt to fix what's wrong. They haven't had a rule shake-up of this size for a long time. The limits on testing and development are such bs. For a team the size of Ferrari to not be sure how their car would work on the medium tire is ridiculous. I'm really worried what will happen now that it looks like the HAAS model might be a good way to do things because merc and ferrari would be only too happy to close up this shop. Pretty disappointed with that decision. I used to love watching F1 but due to a number of changes in past seasons I'm starting to lose interest. 1) The cars just sound terrible. The noise should be ear-splitting and unlike any other car out there. That was a big part of the excitement for me. 2) Pretty much all the on-track overtakes are only possible due to DRS. It's too artificial 3) We've had one race and already drivers are saying once they get close to the car in front it's difficult to get past because of the aero packages on the cars 4) now they are sticking with the boring Qualifying format which pretty much everybody hates Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If they dont go back to the previous qualifying rules for the next race in China I can only assume that people as stupid as Lerner are running F1. BOF Posted April 4, 2016 Moderator Share Posted April 4, 2016 There is a conspiracy theory, and not a very far-fetched one, that Bernie & Jean under advisement (read : masterminded by) Max Mosley are trying to show how badly the teams are when it comes to agreeing on anything. That way, they can re-structure the sport in such a way as to wrestle the decision making power away from the teams on other more important issues going forward, such as customer engines etc. It's felt that the teams have a little too much influence at the moment, and because they are historically very self-serving in that situation, they often don't choose in the best interests of the sport, preferring to serve the best interests of their own team. Jimzk5 Posted May 1, 2016 Share Posted May 1, 2016 Not shaping up to be a brilliant season is it? rosberg 43 points infront after 4 races, Ferrari flatter to decieve, williams dropping off from the last few years, even the midfield racing is so tightly matched they just seem to follow each other all race. at least mclaren look like they're making progress. The only way it gets interesting is if Hamilton gets some luck so they have to fight it out proper. Went to the Canadian GP last yr, no chance I'll go anywhere near it this year. Can't blame Rosberg at all, he's done the job and qualified fast enough at all races to avoid first corner risks. With 17 races and 425 points up for grabs, Lewis pulling it back - if given a reliable car is still possible but at the least it would be nice if they could have a head to head race.
