I believe she's already said she's voting with the Government.

Shame... that would have been the ultimate FU to Boris.

Though him losing his majority mid speech was pretty funny too!

Whenever I see his face I always assume it's been Photoshopped.

His features only take up about 15% of his entire head.  It's bizarre.

The rest is housing for his planet sized brain.  Or so I'm told.

I was looking at voting for the Spelman amendment which I think is the closest indicator of how it might go ? (dunno , i could be very wrong here ?)

17 Tory rebels on that vote , but that doesn't count Cabinet ministers (at that time)  ..i.e Hammond  , who voted with the government and will now change

5 labour / independents voted with the govt

18 abstained

I can't see how the Govt can win tbh  ..other than self-preservation kicking in for some Tory MP's

Ian Austin, Dudley North

Sir Kevin Barron, Rother Valley

Ronnie Campbell, Blyth Valley

Rosie Cooper, West Lancashire

Jim Fitzpatrick, Poplar and Limehouse

Caroline Flint, Don Valley

Roger Godsiff, Birmingham Hall Green

Stephen Hepburn, Jarrow

Kate Hoey, Vauxhall

John Mann, Bassetlaw

Dennis Skinner, Bolsover

Laura Smith, Crewe and Nantwich

Gareth Snell, Stoke-on-Trent Central

Graham Stringer, Blackley and Broughton

That's who voted with the Government to defeat the Cooper-Boles amendment, so probably the Labour votes in play tonight.

I remember reading somewhere that basically 10 Tory rebels = 55% chance it succeeds, 15 = 80% chance, 20+ = nailed on.

He looks excited.  Like an eight year old at a theme park.

Johnson's performance seems unlikely to win over any waverers.  Sometimes bluster, sometimes halting and stammering, sometimes a bit pantomime, quoting lines from the Mekon's briefing note, and not in keeping with the gravity of the situation.

And his argument, if you can call it that, is that it would have been possible to negotiate a better deal but for the position being taken by parliament.  Kind of "and I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids".

some glum looking faces on the Tory benches

There are.

It was interesting to look at Alex Chalk's reaction when Johnson was blathering on and a lot of the Tories were merely nodding along. He looked neither happy nor convinced.

I just wonder whether there might be a few unforeseen rebels? It's unlikely, I know, but I wouldn't be totally surprised.

they probably know the game is up, the only way they vote is how they best save their own seat.
