The future is pretty much known, he wants to sell and pretty much that is all you will get from him. I'd like to see a banner that reads something like: PREMIER LEAGUE STATUS = GONE HUNDREDS OF JOBS = GONE OUR DIGNITY = GONE WHERE IS OUR APOLOGY, LERNER? You seem quite angry in your comments towards what we are trying to do as a group and I am not sure why. I know there are thousands of fans who have chosen to stay away as their means of making the point that things have to change before they return and that is their means of protest. I also fully get the argument that staying away is a great means of protest. You also have to consider though that there are 20k+ of supporters who have already purchased a season ticket and these, along with a few thousand others, simply down right don't want to stop going. These protests facilitate these people and give them the opportunity to get their point across that they, like the stay always, are also pissed off and want change. The bottom line is that there is, within reason, no right or wrong way in getting your point across and I don't think any of us should criticize any individual for how they choose to do that. If your protest is holding up a banner - that's also fine by me. BOTH standpoints are equally as valid. But as I have said many times in this thread - it's wrong to criticise the people organising the protest. They are giving up their time and money for something they care about. But hey........ The club is losing millions, players are refusing to play, staff are being made redundant, directors are quitting, managers are being sacked and we're relegated. If you think making disrespectful comments against a group of fans will help sort that out - feel free to continue. But personally, I think the disrespectful tone of your post isn't called for. However, I had a number of people telling me they appreciated the work being done, even if they themselves were not taking part. I also just want to add that I had a really strong sense of solidarity from the handful of Southampton fans I spoke to, they were fully understanding of the nature of the protest. One gentleman in particular was very vocal in his dismay about what's going on with the club, so full credit to them. Zero problem with what Pete has put here. We are fair game for constructive criticism and have had a fair bit in fairness. It is on us to put up a constructive argument as to why we believe that those supporters who do still attend should join in these protests whilst respecting those that don't agree with us and want to join in. In terms of its own objectives - to allow the fans to demonstrate their unhappiness with the state of affairs at the club - I would say it obviously "worked". You only have to look at the footage from MOTD to see that. You maybe have some deeper or broader idea of what would constitute "working" in this context but you haven't really explained this.
