Keir Starmer has failed to score a goal despite being presented with multiple open goals over the past 2 or 3 years.

Give the rayns to Angela and let’s see if she can do better.

I think this is just a bizarre opinion. He’s the leader of the opposition, with a huge deficit. What do yo expect him to do? His ratings are well above Johnson’s, the Labour Party is well ahead of the Tories in the polls and that gap appears to be growing.

I’m not sure what you expect him to do. He was ahead of the curve most of the way through the pandemic, Labour were saying the govt should do X, the Tories said they shouldn’t, then did X two weeks later. He only went behind Johnson when the vaccine bounce happened and there really was nothing he could do about that.

I’m curious, what do you expect him to do?

Stand up to him more in PMQ’s, put him on the spot more, don’t give him questions he can easily deflect.

I look at Starmer and he’s obviously a very capable person but is he inspiring? Nope, not for me. Will he represent the change I would like to see in politics, nope, not for me.

I want to see someone who was schooled and brought up in the state system, someone who can actually still resonate with the average person.

Starmer is just, well, meh.

No way. Rayner would be a disaster. She is so unlikeable. I think starmers doing a good job as leader to be honest. Better than corbyn and milliband.

Compared to the sack of potatoes currently in charge, I'd be quite happy with "meh"

You mean like Kier Starmer? He can hardly be blamed for his school going independent whilst he was a pupil. Do you think when he was a defence barrister specialising in human rights he didn’t come into contact with average or below people? Like his parents, a nurse and a toolmaker…

He even went to Leeds Uni as an undergraduate, not the usual Oxbridge

Very strange criticism. He actually is a person with the type of background you wanted.

I don't think that's his plan.

Imo he is hoping the country wants a steady approach after the turmoil of Corbyn and Johnson.

It's taken me a while but I've quite warmed to him to be honest.

I think Rayner's lack of intellectual clout would have her found out pretty quickly.

Sorry but I cringe every time she speaks.

Starmer's biggest problem is he's spent this entire time defining himself as a more palatable option to middle englanders than Boris - should he have to explain what his vision for Britain is then he's going to find it hard going - as nobody has a frickin clue what he thinks. He'll be hoping Boris calls a snap election as the Tories have a pretty good track record when they change their leader mid term.

She comes across very chavvy to me.

It amazes me how people from working or middle class backgrounds can feel more closely aligned to a politician from a privileged background who has had everything handed to them on a plate from the moment they were born, including the best education money can buy, rather than someone from a similar background to themselves, or someone from a far more deprived background who has dragged themselves into the position they are the hard way. Someone who knows what it is like to have f all, knows what it is like to have struggles, has experience of having to rely on public services be that a state education, social care, the NHS and knows the every day battles the masses face and knows the value of pounds and pence not thousands and millions.

Regardless of if they they talk as if they have a plum in their mouth or sound common as muck give me an Angela Raynor every day of the week, and twice on a General Election day, over a Jacob Rees Mogg or Boris Johnson.

Angela Raynor.

Okay I would. There you go, you made me say it. 😆

I see your point and to an extent agree.

Unfortunately though those whose have been through Eton etc are no damm fools, they are sharp as a blade, aggressive, and ruthless. T

To expect someone to to be able to hold their against one of those - who was brought up on a council estate - well it might happen - but not very often.

Rayner might get angry and shout alot - be she'd be eaten alive as leader of the opposition.
