Guess first job would be to get a Shirt Sponser on par with the £20mil West Ham have gotten over 3 years from Betway

The West Ham deal equates to £5.71m per year over 3.5 years. Our deal with Genting was worth £8m per year and with Dafabet it's not far behind West Ham, at £5m per year - so there's not much in it to be fair.

Chief commercial officer Charlie Wijeratna has parted company with the club, the Birmingham Mail understands.

He follows a number of high-profile figures to leave the club after both Tom Fox and Hendrik Almstadt departed earlier this year.

The ex-Tottenham and European Games director was one of the highest-earning members of staff in the Villa Park offices and was responsible for the club’s commercial operation.

Former CEO, Fox, recruited Wijeratna in February 2015 after Villa created the role for him.

He was tasked with attracting more partners to the club, landing better sponsorship deals, and also overseeing the marketing and media departments.

Wijeratna, who also spent eight years in the city as a corporate lawyer and then an investment banker, pushed to rebrand the Villa badge recently.

At the time of writing Villa had not responded to requests for a comment on Wijeratna's departure.

Other than that fantasy league game thing last week, what commercial partnerships did we actually sign in the last year?

I can't think of any

Shouldn't this be moved to the "other football" forum?

The Dafabet deal is nothing like that, it's £2m per year.
