We’ve done this one before. It says to keep refrigerated on the bottle. It’s people ignoring these basic food guidelines that cause pandemics.

I don’t want to go over old ground then, however, following what a bottle tells you to do is just one short step away from doing what Trump tells you to do.
HanoiVillan
Why on earth would ketchup be stored anywhere except the fridge (once opened)?

Be honest, you put your bread in the fridge don't you? It's ok, we know it's not your fault that you had a traumatic upbringing.
Seat68
Tomato sauce lives in the fridge. Thats a given. My wife chooses to put the bread in the fridge.
Stevo985 Posted April 27, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted April 27, 2020 I don’t keep my ketchup in the fridge but I can’t tell you why. It’s just always been like that
mjmooney Posted April 27, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted April 27, 2020 Ketchup and brown sauce both go in the fridge. Bread and eggs don't.
sne
Ketchup is for children, never bought it in my life.

That's why it goes in the fridge, as a small bottle will be around for literally years. If I'm having a fried breakfast and I happen to be without fresh tomatoes or baked beans, I may have a small blob of ketchup on the side of the plate, for dipping the white part of the fried egg (and nothing else). Oh wait - maybe once a year, for old time's sake, I may have (wait for it) - ketchup on buttered toast. An oddity that goes back to student days.
Genie
I like ketchup on scrambled egg on toast. That works well. Ketchup in the cupboard though, no idea why.

Tbf I'm pretty sure I've actually bought Ketchup once or twice. Only to have it sit in the fridge and thrown out when I moved. I have a friend who have Ketchup on his pancakes

Stevo985 Posted April 27, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted April 27, 2020 What kind of pancakes though? if it’s the sweet crepe style You have on pancake day then that’s gross. If it’s the American breakfast style you’d have with bacon and sausage then that’s fine.
