................... we are only 5 points off relegation places but they also fail to mention we are the same number of points off a top ten spot and only two more than that off a top 8/9 spot...................

OK

Check this

7 pts behind L'pool - but - 5pts off Relegation place.

at our current 1.something a game Liverpool would have to lose 7 GAMES ON THE TROT for us to be level with them.

WBA (new manager), Palace (new manager) &/or Burnley would only need to win 3 games on the trot (or at some point in a run without losing) to OVERTAKE US

Taking into account our next games Leicester (0-1-3pts) Arse Chelski & 'pool (0-4pts).

0 pts from 12 = LAMBERT OUT!!!!

More likely 1 point from 12 = LAMBERT OUT!!!!

possibly 3pts from 12 = LAMBERT OUT!!!!

great would be 4 pts from 12

unlikely 6 pts from 12

4 from 12 would be 1 pt per game average

WBA, Palace AND Burnley could all end up above us if we get any less than 3 pts

12 from 12 I'll give Lambert my B****cks on a silver plate

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If we occupy a relegation place and "Sacrifice" the Bournemouth FACup tie to "concentrate on the league" then................

LAMBERT (well & truly) OUT

I was ridiculed for saying this :bang:

only 1 game in and I fear the worse...................

FWIW I'm fully expecting him to be sacked this week.

id be absolutely gobsmacked if he is

I probably phrased that badly.

What I meant was that's the mindset I'm in.

I'm not saying he will be sacked, I just mean that's what my expectations are.

Up until now I thought he'd be here no matter what.

I no longer think that. I'm expecting him to go, and soon.

There surely can't be anyone still backing him?

Hang around on here long enough and you may find some.

Interestingly the couple of real fervent supporters are silent but are reading the thread as they have 'liked' posts. Its a shame they have not posted as I would be really interested to hear their take on Lambert given the disaster unfolding.

they're all probably a little embarrassed ATM

Its getting insane with all the negative stats that he is still here. I mean why the hell are the media not on it. I thnk it'll get so bad over the next few games that even Richard may turn, then he is well and truely f******

You think?

We're all Villa fans, why the need to try and single people out and embarrass them for having an opinion?

I certainly disagree that Lambert needs more/should stay but it doesn't mean I'll mock people who believe he should.

I cannot see him being sacked until the end of the season, if at all.

What's making you think this? It's just a bit odd because there's nothing to suggest he will get sacked and we know that Lerner doesn't have a history of sacking managers mid-season.

Joking aside, I think if the board decided to sack Lambert (which is not likely) there are 2 candidates that spring to mind, that we would have a chance of actually getting.

One is Alan Curbishley. He has been out of work since his brief comeback with Fulham. A bit dull, but would be a safe pair of hands and Villa would not have to pay any compensation. He briefly played for us as well in the 80's. He did a great job at Charlton, who fell apart when he left. He got sacked at West Ham after keeping them up and getting a 10th position. Zola then got them relegated. The negatives is that he has been out of the game as a manager for over 6 years and can't pronounce Birmingham properly.

The second is Simon Grayson. Also a brief player for us. Even in our current state we would be a better job than Preston. He did a great job at Blackpool and I still don't understand why Leeds sacked him after promotion and a 7th place. His win % was nearly 50% for them. Doing a good job at PNE as well. Negatives are that he has never managed in the top flight and could be seen as a league one specialist.

I don't think we are in a position to get a top manager, but either of this two could probably do a better job than Lambert surely?

Curbishley's been out the game for too long IMO, especially to manage in the Premier League' and as you said Grayson's completely untested at this level. It would be a risk appointing either of those two at this stage of the season.

He's not going anywhere, we are not going to buy anyone and if we do they will be shit, we will continue to not score goals and then we will scrap it out till the end of the season and either just survive or the inevitable will happen.

No one is going to buy us.

We won't get funds.

Nothing will change.

There is no hope.
