Interesting, hoping St Mirren stay up for this type of money alone

SKY SPORTS are set to plough £100million into Scottish football.

They have lined up a three-year TV rights deal worth a whopping £30m-plus per season, blowing BT Sport out of the picture.

They would take over coverage of the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership from the 2020-21 campaign.

And it could leave fierce rival BT Sport with NOTHING.

The deal would see Sky Sports claiming at least 60 matches a season, including the coveted four Old Firm derbies, plus end of season Premiership play-offs.

The present joint TV agreement between the stations — with each screening 30 matches a season and BT Sport also covering the Premiership play-offs — is worth just £21 million a year.

Industry sources were last night indicating BT have been ‘blown out of the water’ with their attempt to extend their coverage and are bracing themselves for bad news.

An SPFL spokesperson said: “We are in regular dialogue with broadcasters with a view to securing the best deal for SPFL clubs and supporters from 2020.”

Both Sky and BT refused to comment.

Also he blatantly made the most of it.

Not saying it didn't hurt, but he went down like a sack of potatoes.

(As did the Hearts keeper when he got punched by the way)

It's just a footballer thing isn't it.

If someone hit you with a coin in the street, you're not going to flop over on to the concrete like you've just been hit with a cannonball, you just hold the spot you've been hit.

These guys though, a papercut would make them flip down to the floor and roll around like a fish out of water, it's absurd.

Kilmarnock top of league with Villa reject Tishbola and led by Villa idiot Steve Clarke

Worst league in Europe

I thought this was going to be a post praising the work of two 'former' employees.

Rightfully, it turned into a dig at how shite that league is.

A week old, but only just heard this story about Partick Thistle being kidnapped by the SAS. The last paragraph in the quote made me laugh -

Quote

After galloping around the Scottish countryside, the exhausted players were relieved to be told their day was done. Then the SAS arrived.

"I could hardly pick my head up I was so tired," Doolan said. "They told us to take our stuff off and jump in the van. The guys were shouting, 'we'll take you for some food'.

"Five minutes later, bang bang, doors open, guys with masks rag-dolled us out, head-locked us, flipped on the floor. We were blindfolded with ear muffs on. They were rough with us - it was a whole new level. They were dragging us about rooms bouncing us off walls in total darkness.

"Brice Ntambwe got out and ran away but it took four SAS to put him down. Jack Storer was crying at one point. Looking back, I thought it was very worthwhile and a lot of character-building and skills we can take back to the pitch. It'll certainly bring people closer.
