  1. Ah, are you building it in creative then? Or is that classic? There was a really useful feature with the 1.1 update which allows you to generate a perfectly flat world, which would be perfect for building on. I kind of like the background with the hills and trees in the background though...plus there's the quirk of having VP next to the ocean Here's some more recent pics from mine ^ You can tell here that teh entrances to the North Stand are all level with the rest of the ground, which isnt accurate, but hey ho. In fact, neither are the entrances, but when building the interior (the stairs initially) I realised that there was not way to build the stairs properly, not as they in the North Stand. So I compromised, and moved the entrances to suit. ^ I got bored of making the stands and interiors at one point and made the road and that basket ball court instead Unlike the North Stand, the entrances do correspond pretty well with their real world counterparts
  2. AWESOMMME another VP project. We can totally geek out about the dimensions of our models and shiii' The biggest **** up I've made on my model is building it all on the same level - which isn't accurate as there is a substantial incline on the corner of the Trinity & North stand. I havent built the exterior for the Trinity yet, but I know I do have enough height to play around with outside that stand so I can build the Trinity road steps, but the 'slope' down the side of the players/officials car park (and the few steps at the front of the North Stand, actually) is pretty mch impossible for me now, without redoing a **** load of work.
  3. The Pine - You're the Only One I Hate Electric Wizard - Supercoven Comanechi - ROMP (Revenge of My Pussy) Five Knuckle - Feel the Force OvO - The Owls Are Not What They Look Like
  4. Yeh the FFXIII crystarium is very simple, just go into it and spend your points whenever you have a sizeable chunk of them, pretty much. It was rightly criticised for being too simple though. The FFXIII-2 system is very similar but different in quite a subtle way that makes it alot better and more flexible. I ended up looking up a guide for the part of FFXIII-2 I was on, and got through it ok. Turns out that is pretty much the end, so I thought I'd go on and finish it off. Made a save before hand so I could go back and that. In typical Final Fantasy fashion you face a myriad of final bosses, some of which appear to have no relevance to the plot at all The ending can be quite simply summed up thusly
  5. Everytime I log onto the PS3 you seem to be playing that I'm going to have to investigate it at some point. ha yeh pretty much. It's incredibly sad, but it really is a staple of my normal weekday. Finish work, get home...play sarp. Do other stuff, eat dinner...play sarp If you ever give the demo a whirl let me know and I'll hook up with you for some matches
  6. Academia 500AF in FFXIII-2, complete **** tedium. Such an annoying level - and it really is a 'level', ala Mario. Ruined the pace of the story for me, which had really picked up around the 20 hour mark (it was that far in time wise for me anyway) with events taking a decidely interesting turn. I hadn't really been that much into it before, but recent happenings really piqued my interest and I wanted to get on with the story - only to be confronted by this horrible newly unlocked world. Merhhh...I think it's the penultimate place though, and given the fact I only have ~70/160 fragments, I'm going to work on getting more of them, unlocking some more monsters and building them up to make my paradigms stronger, and I want to get into the Chocobo racing too, which so far I have been terrible at. Spoilers for those who are playing and have not unlocked Academia 500AF yet, also FFVII spoilers for Stevo
  7. Oh yeaaaaaah I don't think I'll entertain the idea of getting one of these for a good while yet, I only bought a PSP after it had been out a couple of years
  8. What does NGP stand for? The only thing I can think of is Neo Geo Pocket...
  9. Hey yeh I could nominate a track for a VT mixtape. In fact I would quite enjoy creating a villa-noise track using samples from interviews and stuff, and field recordings from in and around the ground on match day.
  10. Sleepingdog on this playlist means it's a winner!! I just finished listening to Gareth's CD. There was some stuff I really didn't like (Ringo Deathstarr) and some stuff I really did (he ambient/neo classical in the middle from Nils Frahm and Olafur Arnalds), and some stuff I hadnt' listened to for years and years (Blood Brothers and 65dos) I don't think Brumerican wants my CD...so here is the tracklist in case anyone else fancyes it, in physical format or not. I've included genre descripts for yer assistance This fills a CD...missed so much I wanted to include. There's no noise/power electronics or industrial on there...and theres not really much punx or metal or ambiance either. Maybe that is for CD2 rite
  11. FFXIII-2, a bit of UFC3, and I have an ME2 renegade femshep run to finish off. And SARPBC, ofc, always and forever.
  12. Mentioned in another thread somewhere, but saw Kylesa, Circle Takes the Square, and KEN Mode in brum last night. **** exceptional, every band. I've been waiting to see CTTS for nigh on 10 years, KEN Mode are a more recent discovery, and I've caught Kylesa on their last couple of tours over here (gotta love double drummers). Any metal heads who have not listened to Kylesa should get on that asap pretty much. Here is the loverly Laura of Kylesa fame BORIS tee for extra awesome points! yeahhhhhhhh \m/>____<\m/
  13. Ginko has it pretty much spot on about Paradigms - a 'formation' is a very good way of putting it. Yes, you will be using auto-attacks for pretty much the whole game. Getting the hang of Paradigm shifting is what becomes really important. When the bar (do they still call it the ATB in XIII?) turns red that means the bar will fill up quicker, due to haste. I think it turns grey when an enemy casts slow on you. The enemy bar in the top right is the enemies chain bar. Each attack you make will fill the chain bar by a certain %, some enemies have higher 'chain bar resistance' than others. A Ravager (magic attacks) will fill the bar quickly, but they can't stop the bar from depleting. A Commando (physical attacks) can slow down the rate at which the bar depletes, but can't fill it up very quickly. Therefore, if you have one of each (or 2 RAVs and 1 COM when possible) you'll have a perfect balance and should be able to fill the bar up quickly. When the bar is full, the enemy will become 'staggered', which greatly reduces their defence. COMs can 'launch' the enemy into the air when theyre staggered aswell, and you can 'juggle' them so they stay in the air. Obviously, the enemy can't do anything whilst in mid air (granted they're not already flying, which most arent) so it's really very useful.
  14. I've been meaning to ask this for ages: I had to Google Minecraft, and I know what it is now, but... how can it be 1:1 scale? It would have to be literally the same size as the real VP. And given that it's a software construct, it isn't really to ANY scale, is it? Well, I've attempted to make it as close as possible to a 1:1 scale model as I can. The scale generally accepted in Minecraft when refering to 1 block in terms of real world measurements, is that a single block (I don't know how much you looked into the game, but everything is made out of cubes) equats to 1x1x1 metres. So, I started by building the pitch to the real world size using one block as one metre. From there I built the stands around the pitch. I didn't get a measurement of the height of the North Stand, for example, and make it exactly that many metre blocks high though.
  15. 5ive are **** incredible. You do mean the sludge 5ive, right? I have STILL not listened to Gareths CD, but will do my damnest to do so tonight. I went to listen to it the other night, honest, bu just ended up listening to Made Out of Babies and Silverfish instead... Curiously though, the first band on his playlist (I think it was the first anyway) played at the venue I went to last night - although I went to see Kylesa, Circle Takes the Square and KEN Mode instead. Pulled Apart By Horses are a band I've never had any interest in listening to, and judging by some of the haircuts walking into their last night, I think I might be right! Still, I will give everything an unbiased go when I listen to it (kind of)
  16. I saw Incredibly Loud and Extremely Close yesterday, it's about this really naughty and mean kid who has autism or something I guess, and his dad dies in the twin towers on 9/11. THANKFULLY it is not a 9/11 movie (book), rather the journey of a boy attempting to extend the connection with father after his death. It's OK.
  17. Half and half black n white shirt aswell as the ordinary striped one? Huh? Is is a 'european' or 'anniversary' kit or something?
  18. It most certainly is - I lived up there four years and would thoroughly recommend it for anyone who hasnt been out there before. The Wigan match for me is a train journey there and back on the same day though I'm afraid!
  19. Gosh I hadn't realised Albrighton wasn't mentioned. Terrible exclusion if true! That's my birthday too! High five! Wait a minute, you're not my brother are you? What year?? Ah, you live in Nuneaton so you aren't my brother *phew*. 1980, a vintage year 8) Oh quite a few years before me than. We can still be Aug 1st bro-chums though
  20. There are much better guides on GameFaqs than the official guide, especially if you're doing a 100% run, or some other 'challenge'. Unless you want to see the pretty pictures. Which there aren't that many of. I had the official guide, cos I got stuck when first playing the game. Bet you can't guess where I got stuck. You won't guess, so I will tell you. Sector 6, Midgar. After leaving Aerith's house and not telling her, and she magics herself in front of you so you have to take her to Wall Market. That little part before the play area, there's some contruction equipment and stuff doted around. You have to walk up a thin plank or something to reach a higher level. Now, I was only about 12 at the time, and having only just advanced to that gen of consoles, I just COULD NOT see how to get up to that higher bit. I was walking 'under' the plank and trying to go up, instead of starting at the end of it that was on the 'floor'. Didn't touch it for about 6 weeks cos of that. Then I FINALLY figured it out Wonderful. Things went from bad to worse though I was approaching the end of disc 2, when one of my friends came round with his memory card. He was on disc 3 and was doing the fighing tournament thing in Wonder Square to get Clouds level 4 limit break. WHEN HE WENT TO SAVE THE GAME HE AUTOMATICALLY CLICKED SLOT ONE WITHOUT THINKING AND OVERWROTE MY SAVE. My first game was gone forever. I started it again a few weeks later, which was kind of good as I knew what to expect (up to a point)
  21. No Benty in the Euros then? That's my birthday too! High five! Wait a minute, you're not my brother are you? What year??
  22. Yeh being on the world map for the first time is a great moment. One of my favourites in the game probably, when they're all gathered there outside Midgar, out on the search for ol' Sephy... Naw. If memory serves all it had in it was a little art book, some stickers, a soundtrack, special case...no exclusive DLC or anything.
  23. It's a shame we only take the larger amounts of overpayments all the way to court. I see very very few debtors who have been prosecuted, unfortunately. Compensation orders are also far more rare than they should be. Problem being our fraud investigators know damn well if any overpayment is below £10k it probably won't be taken up by our solicitors, so if the debtor never accepts that the money was gained by fraudulent means we have treat the barrrrstuds exactly the same as the ones that are genuine mistakes. Unless we have evidence, like those ones you see on the news where "Mr. Unable to walk more than 2 feet without aid" is filmed being the lineo at the his local sunday league match They're few and far between too though
  24. Can't remember if you mentioned it in this thread - did you play XIII? It isn't required, theres a thing you can read to catch up on the story, but I can't imagine playing XIII-2 without having played XIII first. The story is pretty much a direct continuation, with characters from XIII popping up every now and again, and some of the relationships being critical to the story in XIII-2. Plus, if you like XIII you'll love XIII-2 - if you didn't you probably won't like XIII-2 either, although there are some improvements. It's a better sequel than X-2 was, put it that way... Only played VII & VIII. Should i start with XIII first? Probably get that for next to nothing now. Yeh I would start with XIII. That way if you don't like the way it plays at least you wouldnt have wasted as much money as you wouldve jumping straight into XIII-2, which I guess is still at full retail price?
  25. Just saw mention of this game on another forum I frequent, and man it was terrific. I will have to fire up a ROM sometime soon
