  1. Over payment thereof and the extraction of said overpayment from the poor unfortunates.....? Oh yes. Used to just be for those on benefit, ie. we'd recoup all owed monies via deductions from what ever benefits the individual would have in pay. Now though I do both on and off benefit, so for those we can't take what ever we want UGH SORRY what the debtor can afford from benefits, we send charlie and boys round with a baseball bat. Or something. It used to surprise me how often people would mention to me things that I could relate to the work I do, that being overpaid benefits, and benefits in general - it was a genuine shock to discover that the knowledge I have and take completely for granted, that I consider to be 'just work', can sometimes actually be really useful.
  2. I was never much of a magic user in FFVII, apart from cure. It's quite amusing when you hear people say the FFXIII battle system is terrible when you can go through the majority of all FF games just bashing x anyway Can't remember if you mentioned it in this thread - did you play XIII? It isn't required, theres a thing you can read to catch up on the story, but I can't imagine playing XIII-2 without having played XIII first. The story is pretty much a direct continuation, with characters from XIII popping up every now and again, and some of the relationships being critical to the story in XIII-2. Plus, if you like XIII you'll love XIII-2 - if you didn't you probably won't like XIII-2 either, although there are some improvements. It's a better sequel than X-2 was, put it that way...
  3. YES FINALLY something I can genuinely contribute to, if the need arises. Time to pull out the ol' serious hat *ahem* My area of expertise are welfare benefits, specifically overpayments thereof. So if anyone ever has one, or knows someone who has one, I'm yer man. The real proper CAB can offer advice in these respects too, but given my deep seated hatred for them, I wouldnt advise it. I am much nicer right
  4. The best place to level limit breaks early in the game is just after the Midgar Zolom, that little cave bit. One of the monsters outside Midgar gives you Matra Magic enemy skill, which attacks all, and in that cave you can encounter I think 6? little worm things which you can take out with one attack with Matra Magic. Gives your six kills off the bat and you can get all your limit breaks real quick.
  5. We don't believe you. Neither do I seeing as his name was Sam Gorman from Droitwich... unless that's you? ;-) No, no it wasnt me. I just made something up to be cool cos I suck at everything
  6. Don't think it's been mentioned on here, and it's a little late anyways really - seeing as the demo is out tomorrow anyway (I think) - but there has been early access to the demo available on Xbox since the weekend if you do this little ME app thingy on facebook. Havent bothered myself, but know a fair few who were playing it that way over the weekend
  7. Well, I got a free foam hand and the streaker was the single most hilarious moment I have ever experienced at VP thus far. The cartwheels hahahahahahahahaaaaa.... oh yeh we lost, nevermind.
  8. Are these games actually even half decent now? I remember a good few years ago, what ever iteration of the game was released that year, was one of the most awful footballing games everrrrrrrrr. Mightve been the first one? on PS2
  9. hahaha awwww. That mascot in the blue was sitting in front of me, he was a Villa fan
  10. KEYBLADE is that a Kingdom Hearts reference Whoever thought a Final Fantasy & Disney crossover would actually work. Good games. Not my favourite though
  11. I received Gareth's mixtape CD in the post yesterday. It is adorned with a wonderful image of Stefan Postma on the front, and to my surprise an image of the act itself covers the CD. Havent listened to it yet though
  12. Nice Refn is getting major plaudits for Drive, wonderful director. The Pusher trilogy is fantastic, especially so if you like your crime dramas. And then there's Valhalla Rising - what a trip So how do you feel about students?
  13. That's where my user name is from Was making my first ever online gaming account for Dreamcast to play Phantasy Star Online, and had been playing that on PS1. The has stuck ever since. Good game.
  14. Ha that enormously long tracking shot of the traffic jam in Weekend is woooonderful
  15. HEY someone in this thread is playing it for the first time, that emu has got SPOILERS ON IT! Stevo is at somewhat of an advantage having bought it off PSN though, as he won't get the case, which has ENORMOUS SPOILERS PLASTERED ALL OVER THE BACK OF IT. All the way through the game I was waiting for it to happen, by the time it actually did I was quite relieved, which I don't think is quite what the developers intended for one of the most iconic scenes in video gaming history
  16. Tell them about the bit when you can get Katherine to send saucy texts and pics (not nudz boo) and then you can go into the toilet in bar and have a wank over them, that'll get them interested
  17. I burnt my playlist tonight. I pretty much completely changed what I had in mid to start with, as it was just too long. I had a grand scheme of starting off heavy and getting lighter as it went through...but the the capacity of the CD meant it was all heavy as fuccck So I went with 3 songs from a few genres and ended up with powerviolence/grind->jungle/gabba/speedcore->ska/punk->dreampop->emo I may or may not have enclosed a love poem in the CD I made. yaaaaaaaaaaaaay
  18. I tried running FFVII PC on my desktop once - nightmare! Couldnt manage it, gave up in the end. Have it on emu though. It runs and looks fantastic on PSP btw
  19. I played thorough ME1 again recently, as I'd never done a proper renegade playthrough. So I did one with FemShep, and it was wooooonderful. I'm playing FFXIII-2 now, but look forward to taking the character through ME2 and then into ME3 to save the galaxy ALL ON MY OWN. I killed the Rachni Queen, killed Wrex, let Ash die (who I much prefer to Kaiden, so that was a big deal for me), let the Salarian's, told Conrad Verner to piss off I am a little concerned that the ME3 ending, if you play as a full on renegade will be shitty in comparison to the paragon ending. It's been heavily hinted at (and doesnt really take a genius to work out) that if you keep everyone on good terms then they all come together to kick Reaper ass to save the galaxy in a blaze of glory...I'm hoping for a really anti-alien pro-human ending, where humanity takes total control of the Citadel and the Council races mwhahahahaaaa
  20. I'm stil in the process of being a volunteer - well, actually on secondment from work (civil service). Nothing in Birmingham, football at Cov in the west mids though. I've got football at Wembley on my birthday (Aug 1st), and if I do get the volunteer thing I think I'll be at Cov, but if I'm not, I might go to some matches there as it's only down the road
  21. I live in Erdington mate. STILL waiting for a green card. Excellent! Let me know your address and I'll get a CD off to you when I've sorted a playlist. What sort of my music are you into? I started making my playlist but it was a bit much tbh...I felt like killing myself after 20 minutes and I love the stuff

    Protesting News

Where are they going to be prostesing? I would rather like to give them a piece of my mind
  23. Same for me, never really got into XII at all. Any lovers of Xenogears? It's on the US PSN, and is utterly fantastic. In ways I prefer to FFVII, that might just be due to the giant robots though. The story is like nothing else I've played in any other game though, it's **** huge. Lots of philisopical, psychological and religious references and elements are involved, which makes the whole thing hugley interesting, aswell as entertaining. The script writer originally submitted it to be the story for FFVII but was told it was too dark and complicated to be a final fantasy - but was allowed to go ahead with their own project. For anyone who enjoyed the PS1 era FFs I would hugely recommend, if you missed out on it first time around (it wasnt released in Europe (nor were the psuedo sequels Xenosaga1,2,3 on PS2 (curiously the psuedo sequel to that, Xenoblade on Wii, is still awaiting its US release despite already being out here for over 6 months. very odd.))) It is very heavily anime styled though, which might put some people off I guess.
  24. FFX is getting a HD 'remaster', due out on PS3 and Vita to mark the 10th anniversary of it's release.
