Even if they went 2-0 up I still think they would have gone out. Liverpool were always going to score when city were so open at the back and City's intensity would have fallen off in the second half. -
No they don't. They have milwall, Brentford, SHA and Sunderland left. Our run in is much harder.

Berahino was one of the worst signings of all time. Why pay that kind of money for a player you know is a complete headbanger. Also the policy of going for "names" like Shaqkiri, Afellay and Jese was always going to end in disaster. EDIT: Berahino is on £70K a week and has a contract until 2022.

I have pointed out repeatedly that FFP is a load of bollocks and deals like this show exact why that's the case. If an owner wants to invest into the club they can, it's easy to get around FFP. FFP is only used as an excuse by owners who don't want to invest. AVFC

He should but he won't. He'll have a laundry list of excuses ready to go, absolving him of all blame for the failures this season. As for Elmo, he's been a decent signing and cheap enough. He's no where near good enough for the premier league though, like most of our players.

Why did we spend £15m on Hogan or £12m on Ross McCormack? Managers get transfers wrong all the time, Bruce obviously doesn't think Bree is up to it and that's why he bought Elmo and plays Hutton.

Sack the manager, clear out half the squad, start again should be the plan. Problem is I don't think they'll sack the manager, we won't be able to get rid of a lot of players we want to due to the high wages and we'll lose Grealish and possibly Chester to premier league teams.

I'd say they want to spend their money on teams that get more exposure (i.e. premier league teams) rather than one stuck in the championship. The purple UA home kits are terrible, the away's have been good especially this seasons one.

We heard all that "he's training well, he's working hard to get fit, etc." shite before. He's being paid a fortune for years to be a professional footballer. He should be training hard all the time, not just when he's looking for a new contract.

All city had to do was score one goal in the second half to stay in the tie but they never looked like scoring. Karius didn't have a save to make. Hard to pick any city player that played well. De Bruyne giving the ball away, Silva sauntering around the pitch. Kompany leaden footed at the back.
