  1. From this article written by Sherwood in October: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/tim-sherwood-people-knock-young-english-footballers-but-the-under21s-showed-theres-talent-here-they-just-need-to-be-given-a-chance-9802904.html Thats a good article and reinforces the good feeling I have about Sherwood. Gives hope that in the future if given any money he will go out and purchase some bright young things with technical ability.
  2. I saw that this was on Netflix. Started watching but I dont think I was in the mood for a Terry Gilliam film.
  3. Not only did he not waste any time. Sherwood has been in Villa park a fair few times in the last 2 months or so. So the contingency plan that some pine for so much was alive and kicking.
  4. Will he get the chance to spend any time with the team today? Really looking forward tomorrow now.
  5. And would you want it any other way? One thing that seems to be showing through with peoples opinions on this appointment. Good or Bad we will now have a go and surely that is the best way.
  6. Pochettino has lost 8 in 25 so far in the premier league. Fairly similar records. Sherwood's record was worse than the bloke he replaced. He got found out very quickly and ditched by Spurs. An egotistical idiot and a tacticial dunce His total management career stretches 4 months and some are creaming themselves over him - beggars belief! Easily a bigger mistake than McLeish if he turns up which looks increasingly likely We have turned a respected, historic club into a complete laughing stock "We" have done nothing. The only thing "we" as a collective are responsible for is not being louder earlier during a couple of manager reigns and ensuring that the club didnt employ Steve Mclaren who some now clamour for.
  7. Being praised on football focus, Jenas saying he got him the fittest he ever felt not that that says alot. Just been called an inspirational leader on the Blackburn promo. Premiership footballers are prima donnas and I think Sherwood demands a return to professionalism and team ethic that he was apart of at Blackburn. I think if he gets it to click it isnt just safety he would get a team really going. Will the modern day footballer react to that now? is it outdated? Its the way Id like to see us play, fighting for every ball and inch, seeing the team drag performances out of individuals. Am I convincing myself Sherwood is the solution.
  8. I want us to take a huge risk. If its Sherwood then so be it. Hes not the same old name hes not the same old style. The club needs to do something different. We here on this board are screaming for us to do something different or move differently than we have been. We are not all going to agree over the new manager but we agree something had to be done. Whatever happens at the end of the season we can look back at this point with perfect retrospect. I for one want to say that at least we made a leap of faith on someone that could have been good.
  9. I dont get where some of you are getting there is no contingency plan, You know the rules and the way the world works. The "Lambert sacked Villa appoint Sherwood as replacement with immediate effect" is a PR, HR and law suit disaster.
  10. Team of Laursen & Mellberg with Carew as mascot. Scandinavian super team. Beards and Glory.

    Gym Routine

Anybody go to the gym during their lunch hour? Considering going to "The Gym" on High Street in Brum during my lunch hour.
  12. I liked your comment but the sentence about him being a "G" nearly made me not.
  13. I think you have to respect the way Lambert conducted himself but certainly not his performance level. He looked a beaten man and thats what will come from protecting your boss from the people below you. We are an incredibly hard club to manage with funds or without due to our fan base size and stadium capacity making us that cliched "sleeping giant" when in actual face we are just a regular premier league club on par with Everton, Newcastle & West Ham. dont I dont even know who I want us to appoint, but I know the kind of attributes I want. Up and coming, showing lots of energy on the sidelines, takes no shit, able to spot a player, produces young players and hungry to succeed. Think I just described Lambert when he came and Sherwood now. Probably need an experienced and respected older manager to get us out of trouble but that wont keep the Villa fans happy over a full season.
  14. well us all agreeing didnt last long
  15. Dont even have an assistant manager to cover.

My Grandad died today he was 98 so a good innings. Its horrible what old age and cancer eventually does to people who are so proud and strong during life. Hands down the nicest person I have ever met who has had such an immeasurable influence on me as a person. Wish I could have had one last drink with him.
  18. Accidentally had network on and have had two strangers join my game. Didnt notice straight away just that it got really slow when pressing continue.
  19. I've never seen it, but it can still be explained with the "If you throw enough shit at the wall, some of it will stick". Sooner or later he's going to make something that isn't complete vomit. The Rock is both utter crap and brilliance (to be disputed) at the same time. Nicholas Cage at his best (to be disputed). Add into that Con Air, Face/Off, Broken Arrow, Armageddon & Bad Boys it was a golden era of American Cinema (to be disputed) Got a friend at uni to watch all of these over a couple of day period as he had seen none of them. Unfortunately he did not view them with the same nostalgic enjoyment that myself and 4 other housemates did.
  20. Interstellar is average. Enjoyable enough it lost me when the tesseract stuff happened. One of those films where I just feel It could have been so much more.
  21. My optimism level that builds up during the time that Villa dosnt play is quite high due not all of it being depleted during the Chelsea game. 1-0 0-0 1-1 0-1 Is the range of results I predict. The optimistic bit comes in the fact that I have us gaining points in 3 of those 4 results.
  22. Thought better call Mcgill was good. Atleast I think It was good and not just nostalgia for Breaking Bad.
  23. With that deflected shot I thought he had broken our non scoring streak. Thought he played ok yesterday. However his passing is completely risk free and I think he is definitely a contributor to our inability to build attacks. Sometimes he helps put together a string of passes, passing and moving quickly but its not even in flashes each game its like once every 4. Should be contributing with his experience. Where has the player who played for Wigan gone.
