  1. Will the real Benteke please stand up.
  2. Good to see cleverly put in a challenge and show them he's there. Did it in a shit way.
  3. Next wonderkid. Chased by Madrid, Barca ect. Hes on a very decent wage I believe just to chase the big guns away. He looks very technical and hes about 6`4. No doubt Chelsea will loan him out never to be seen again. Mourinho made some comments about Brown, Solanke and Baker in their youth team being future England players and Loftus-Cheek is in the same bracket supposedly. First goal of career today. We are perfect for that.
  4. Deserved to be dropped and weak squad or not more of this treatment would have us performing alot differently in my opinion.
  5. Drop the beast and he will score
  6. They have their second top goal scorer and assiter instead
  7. None of us what us to lose today. But if we win I'll be even more confused about this squad and manager than I was before.
  8. I thought Mark Lawrenson has been taken outside the BBC studio and shot.
  9. Go for it chap! Always good to have these sorts of conversations with the people higher up the chain. Shows willing, shows you are keen to progress and will make them think of you as soon as an opportunity arises. Good luck My experience is in hospitality and catering and my new role very much a supporting role to that industry. I found it hard to change and you have to keep plugging. I think the skills involved are very underrated and very very transferable. Some seem to think it is just servingeople or cooking where in fact there is a hell of lot of planning, reporting and budgeting that goes into it if you are at the right level. As well as adding In The ability to build a team that works hard for you and will move heaven and earth (and weekends) to get the job done for you. People under appreciate these skills if they do recognise them. Facilities or operational mangement is often a natural step and something you will be good at if you continue with the same work ethic. Should help that you already work there as you already know about the operation and often relationships are key to employment, make sure your ready for some probing questions on the spot if you approach, already have an idea of your plan if you were to get the role. That first impression will count even in a informal chat. Good luck.
  10. I also got asked that question, he was also Villa fan so he said lets change the subject.
  11. Had a very quick turn around from applying to job offer this week. I applied on Monday, called back within 20 mins. Interview Wednesday second interview on Thursday and just been offered the job this morning. Wasnt sure how the interview went the interviewer was very hard to judge. Its a job role I really want, in an industry I want to work in, for what seems to be the perfect company in terms of what I was looking for and the scope and development of the role. Good things come to those who wait (and try really hard to get them)
  12. Sums up the lack of knowledge behind this post to be honest. was thinking the same thing Thanks for the contribution. Id like some reasoning as to why you then think these candidates are realistic, would actually want to come and be more of a success. Mistake on my part I though he was responsible for Lyons great form this season but turns out they have been better off without him.
  13. We should be taking points from Hull, Leicester, Newcaslte, Stoke, West Brom, Sunderland, QPR, Swansea, West Ham, Everton & Burnley. We will lose to Newcastle, Stoke, Swansea and West Ham which really leaves us flying close to the sun as we wont win all of the ones remaining. Cant see us pulling of any hidings against United, Chelsea, Southampton, Man City, and Spurs either. April & May is a hard fixture list, hopefully we have our destiny in our own hand against Burnley on the last day.
  14. And how many of them will realistically do what you want them to do or actually come here. Remi Garde - No chance him leaving Lyon Slavan Billic - Sacked from one job, In great form and Europe with Besiktas. Laudrup - Sacked or resigned from 3 of his last 4 clubs Mclaren - No chance him leaving Derby Oscar Garcia - Resigned from 3 clubs Bento - Only managed at one club Karanka - may be tempted but not during the season. None of them are coming with no budget to spend!
  15. I think it shows how big the problem is whenever its hard to think of a manager that could be a solution. We talked of Pulis to save us but then wed only want him until the end of the season. We want a European name but then agree perhaps we need experience. We want a high profile name but then recognise that we have no money to spend. We would all love an up and coming manager with a great brand of football from the lower divisions but its too big a risk. We talk of Big Ron, Graham Taylor, Alan Curbishley all managers that have been out of the game over 5 years. Paul Lambert is still here, perhaps we would want him here if he wasnt. Unfortunately theres nothing we can do on the finance side of Villa. We will be in for a nervy wait until the end of the season and only relegation or a change in club direction will get him sacked.

I enjoy playing more than I do watching. Shame Im a few pints in when I do play, but I thought that was part of the rules.
  17. Just started watching True Detective, looks like im in for a treat.
  18. Theres a few of things wrong with our midfield and the ability of the players isnt one IMO. - Too deep - Too central - No width - Full backs going forward We sit too close to our own defense isolating our attacking players, meaning that when the attack gets the ball there is no support and we get swamped. When we deliver balls into them they are crowed out or the defending team has had time to organise. We play 3 midfielders and they all sit in the centre, 5 yard passes are great if you can do it quickly and into space but all of our midfielders are in the same place. Can only pass it in between themselves so much before they get tackled or closed down and make the wrong decision. Hence we end up playing useless balls about. Absolutely no width in the middle portion of the pitch. We cant build attacks and we dont create play that has supporting players. We let one break away (Delph or Gill for example) and just hold position. There are no useful overlaps or stretching of space, pulling the opposition out of shape. Our full backs seem to be the main source of forward momentum, creativity and crossing and this is by design. Full backs can certainly able to do this but need to be as support, we sacrifice creative impetus in the midfield for defensive stability whereas the full backs should just be told to hold and let the midfield be free. Full backs are often in space and can be a good outlet especially when being defensive but ours are too high up the pitch. When we look for them they are in dangerous positions to receive the ball so we give it back to the center backs or pass it around our deep lying congested midfield until we stifle the attack or lose the ball. I think 3 central defenders needs to be stopped. 1 up front with an attacking mid, 2 forwards/wingers who drop back when needed and 2 central midfielders capable of sitting when necessary and delivering the ball to attacking players quickly and with intent when needed. Sort it out Paul!
  19. Dont you mean Director of bananas
  20. Patrick Bamford Absolutely no chance of that happening
  21. Im in neither of these camps. What I dislike about the sport is that its a struggle to enjoy the whole game without technology IMO of course. This isnt saying its a poor game its just that if you follow the ball and the throw you can miss large parts of tactical movement and tackles which you then see through replays. Maybe the ability to see everything gets better with more exposure but ive now seen a fair few games as well as a live game in the US. Live you can certainly see the speed and power of these guys and the power of the tackles. I enjoy the spectacle of NFL not just the Superbowl. Its such a massive team sport and everyone gets involved. Seeing games live is much more a day out rather than 3 hours down Villa Park. I will endeavour to like it even with the over celebration of every tackle, catch and block.
