  1. Dont you mean Director of bananas
  2. Patrick Bamford Absolutely no chance of that happening
  3. Im in neither of these camps. What I dislike about the sport is that its a struggle to enjoy the whole game without technology IMO of course. This isnt saying its a poor game its just that if you follow the ball and the throw you can miss large parts of tactical movement and tackles which you then see through replays. Maybe the ability to see everything gets better with more exposure but ive now seen a fair few games as well as a live game in the US. Live you can certainly see the speed and power of these guys and the power of the tackles. I enjoy the spectacle of NFL not just the Superbowl. Its such a massive team sport and everyone gets involved. Seeing games live is much more a day out rather than 3 hours down Villa Park. I will endeavour to like it even with the over celebration of every tackle, catch and block.
  4. I called it in the match thread that Ozil would perform. However hes been completely non existent but two moments is enough.
  5. I see this as a bit of a trial for Gill, Cazolas replacement in a year or twos time.
  6. Hopeful balls into Benteke and we are chasing shadows.
  7. That was like watching the mighty ducks flying V. Full backs still the only ones offering width.
  8. Id like us to go for someone like Bittencourt from Hannover
  9. One thing I hate about the transfer window is the feeling I have now. Im now more excited about Villa than at any point this season just because of some new blood and PR. It used to be great that a manager could come in a sign some of his type of players get the place buzzing and then continue. I remember when Angel signed (although it was January) it gave the club a buzz and part way through a season I had something new and interesting to cheer for. Imagine if we had signed Gil at the end of October, might have been in a completely different position now, or might have just stopped us having to wait 2 months to stop being so negative.
  10. It would be nice if somebody realised that you have to speculate to accumulate in this business. In fairness we've brought plenty of young players in over the last few years, just that their potential has been a bit mixed as some of them have been cheap for a reason other than their youth. God I hope this is true, the likes of Will Hughes, Tyrone Mings, Danny Ings, Dele Alli and Lewis Cook are there to be snapped up. Granted these are names that people have read and seen snippets of but they are the kind of high profile youngsters that give us buzz and may have great potential. The last high profile young player we beat teams to was Okore and thats looking promising. Think a few were chasing Benteke and it was Delph and Young before that. Theres a couple more Danish super kids out there are the moment. Still it needs massive amount of cash to speculate to accumulate and you have to take your share of duds, we just cant afford it unless something is changing.
  11. Ozil to have his only World Class performance of the season on Sunday. Villa are the go to team to pick a players form up.
  12. Im basing my excitement on football manager performances
  13. Ill now be upset if we dont get Alli. Thought he was going to be one of those up and coming players from the lower leagues that gets snapped up by a Spurs, Everton or Newcastle for us all the resent.
  14. More pressing matters than getting another deep midfielder. I duno we could loan Anderson from United......
  15. Ravel Morrison to Lazio will be one of the more shocking signings of this window if it happens.
  16. Swansea talking to Jack Cork, Id like us to take a chance on him.
  17. No problem with each vote having the same weighting. Having to get 5 backers to even get the chance to run for example or the shady nature of World Cup voting. If a whole organisation is corrupt and the only way to change it is bring in an outsider but the organisation has to allow them to in in order to run, they are not going to are they. Which is probably what happened in Blatters last election when on the whole there was far less resistance to his presidency.
  18. I think Blatter has certain groups of confederations tied up. Africa, Asia, Middle East. I think the challengers credible or not will just dilute the vote between them rather than steal any of Blatters stable. FIFA from top to bottom is structured around Blatter and the way he operates, its going to take more than just removing him to change it. The whole organisation needs a refit from the way it votes, to the power of nations and its political transparency. However Blatter has done some very good things for world football in my opinion, its no surprise the small nations back him as he has done good work with academies and funding for developing nations. (However it is easier to bribe a poor nation.) Not going to pretend I know anything about the candidates, just get old Sepp out.
  19. When he was playing he was always the one that seemed to care and be capable of a level above the rest. Is he now considered to have been part of the problem by everyone? I still think hes an asset, he was top draw in the World Cup and has put in some pretty big performances for Villa. Is he now a mistake ridden has been, deemeed surplus to requirements due to others or is it just because he is injured and not signed a contact that people are happy to see him leave.
  20. I still think we will sign Sinclair in some capacity. Hopefully a loan as Man City seem to destroy all ambition from young Englishman we dont want to be left with a dud.
