  1. Ally McCoist is a dreadful commentator.
  2. Well, did we get back into the game?
  3. Anyway mine are: - I don't get the Remi Garde hate. Obviously he was a failure but the club was already in a huge tailspin when he came in. He was more of a hapless nonentity rather than some sort of awful awful manager - I thought Gerrard would be good for us for a while - I can totally understand why the club let Marc Albrighton go at the time - Even though he was clearly past it, I still think it's cool that Robert Pires played for us
  4. If anything I think Houllier is under-appreciated. Perhaps attitudes have softened to him since a bit but definitely at the time I felt he was treated rather harshly. To be fair the decline started before he came in. O'Neill wasting a summer and then walking out in a tantrum just before the start of the season when things really started to go down hill, and we all know that he always leaves clubs in a mess. We certainly wouldn't have been seriously challenging for the top 4 again regardless of who came in, especially after Milner left. Add to that we had a huge injury crisis that season which basically makes this season look like nothing. To be fair to Houllier he did genuinely try and modernise the club, both in terms of playing style and professionalism, but he got a lot of resistance from certain sections of the squad that preferred O'Neill's old-fashioned ways.
  5. Amazes me that some people still don't think he's the best keeper in the world.
  6. This is all opinion, not fact. They've been mixed. Certainly below where they were in the games before that, but "very poor" and "in a slump" is an overstatement.

    Unai Emery

Think the problem with Emery is that since he's come in he's done such a remarkable job that expectations have risen exponentially. Mentally, as a team and a fanbase, we've gone from expecting to make a go of fighting for midtable to being outside title challengers and top 4 favourites in the space of about 14 months.
  8. Emery said "Pau is progressing well, he starting training with us & (was) ready to play, but he stopped again & now we are being careful..” so hopefully not too serious
  9. Happens with all clubs unfortunately. That's the nature of injuries - sometimes you just don't know.
  10. Don't think it was an experiment as such, more just Emery making use with what he has.
  11. While viewership for La Liga in the UK will obviously be far lower than the Premier League, I can guarantee that loads more people watch La Liga here than the Saudi League.
  12. On balance I'd say he's the most overpaid manager in the history of football. Not an exaggeration.
  13. Agreed. At the very least they should be stripped of their titles and relegated to League 2. Expect the most we'll get though is a 20 point deduction and a transfer ban or something, sadly.
  14. Don't think many are blaming them per se, just pointing out that Dyche is a dinosaur who coaches thuggery into his teams. Of course if we want to finish top 4 we have to break these teams down consistently, but that doesn't make me detest the kind of "football" his teams play any less.
  15. Yep. I've been saying this for ages. Instead of carrying out their remit of overturning "clear and obvious" errors etc, they frequently go out of their way to look for any minor infraction that can be used as an excuse to overturn a goal. I'm convinced that if Bailey was onside they were getting ready to claim that Pickford was somehow being impeded for the goal. Whole thing is rotten.
  16. They spent quite a long time looking at the second phase of the Moreno goal, the actual shot, what was all that about? Have to say at that point I thought maybe they were going to give it and that they were looking at the shot to try and desperately find something else to use as an excuse to rule the goal out.
  17. The Sky commentator just referred to Spurs as "Tottenham daredevils" Honestly so tired of the media wankfest over them.
  18. This is exactly it. It's why I'd be dead against ever having Dyche even if he's a step up (from say, someone like Gerrard). His ceiling is mid-table playing some of the worst anti-football you'll ever see. That's it.
  19. Dyche has moulded them into his image well. Bunch of thugs.
  20. Everton's game plan in the second half was clearly to just kick the shit out of us instead of playing. Refereeing awful too. Point not too bad though.
  21. I'm glad Man City won. At the end of the day it's still quite unlikely we'd actually win the title (and we still have to play both Arsenal and City away), whereas Top 4/5 is a big big possibility and Newcastle losing helps us out on that front.
  22. Very sad. England's best manager in the last 25 years as well.
