  1. For me Hourihane vs Whelan in the last game isn't a debate. Smith has to pick one of them and hope it works out, if it doesn't he then has the ability to change it up which he did to great effect. Completely understand why he kept Whelan in the side, he breaks play up and lets McGinn and Grealish do their thing. Against a good WBA team that should have been exactly what we needed. However, WBA weren't a good side at all, we dominated the possession as they sat back to soak it up; in that scenario Hourihane is the better option as we were struggling to break them down. Fairplay to Smith, it was his tactical nous that won us the game. It likely wouldn't have been a change Bruce would have made 12 months prior. Fairplay to Hourihane, he came on and took the game by the scruff of the neck. Smith now has to decide what to do tomorrow. Try to keep it tight at the back whilst hitting them on the break for a goal with Whelan, or take the game to them with Hourihane and shut up shop with Whelan later when WBA need 2-3 goals. I know which option I would prefer and I imagine it is exactly what Smith will do.
  2. There is no away goals in the playoffs
  3. But what if we comeback on their comeback on our comeback?
  4. So does this mean the Baker and Lineker Podcast is now over? Something to listen to each week but I have to say Baker does my head in and is in no way funny.

    Prague

I haven't read the above but went there in 2017. Things to do below: Walk across Charles Bridge Climb Charles Bridge Tower Walking tours from the main square are really good to see all of the city Prague Castle Old Town Square Climb Old Town Hall Tower Visit Prague Beer Museum (basically a bar with 30 beers on tap) - http://www.praguebeermuseum.cz/en/ Visit The Pub (good for food and pour your own beers at the table) - https://www.thepub.cz/praha-1/o-nas/?lng=en I would mostly recommend the Charles Bridge, both towers and the Prague Beer Museum (you can buy a tray of 6-8 small beers) Great city, will be returning soon.
  6. No chance we would be dropping Taylor now, he is bang in form at the minute and linking up extremely well with El Ghazi. They remind me of the partnership Elmo and Snoddy had last season. Since Taylor took the shirt back from Hause he has played 11, conceded 8 with 4 clean sheets. Compared to the state of our back line in the early parts of the season it's absolutely remarkable. Don't get me wrong Hause is a fantastic player, but for me you can't change a winning side and the Elmo, Tuanzebe, Mings, Taylor combination have played a huge part in recent weeks.
  7. That's the precise reason I want Spurs to win it, I know so many Arsenal fans that think they are inferior to every other supporter because of the invincible team 20 years ago. Arsenal fans also love rubbing Spurs' noses in the fact they haven't won a major trophy. I also hate Arsenal because of that FA Cup Final and the way they dismantled us with such ease.
  8. I love coming to work today to a handful of 'Liverpool fans' who have never previously mentioned they support Liverpool, have never been to Liverpool and have no association with Liverpool. One of them didn't even know Liverpool were playing yesterday until I told them.
  9. This wasn't a mistake, there is a coffee shop in Winterfell... Starkbucks I'll get my coat.
  10. I would be up for a VT pro club, on Xbox though...
  11. The problem with playing Kodjia is he won't track back and help out the full back. He's also got that selfish streak in him that a wide player shouldn't have. Whilst he's been scoring goals whilst Abraham was out his workrate hasn't been the same and we struggle to press as well as we do with Abraham playing. Green was good in the last game, I would play him on the right with El Ghazi on the left.
  12. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil & Vile was good. Definitely worthwhile watching The Ted Bundy Tapes before watching the film though as they don't really go into his crimes in much detail.
  13. Green Book - absolutely fantastic. Enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.
  14. Ifs and Buts I'm sure you are all as fed up of this as I am, but I don't want to be the cause of our unbeaten run ending. Leeds to beat Ipswich Derby to draw to West Brom Boro to beat Rotherham Bristol to draw to Hull Villa to beat Norwich 3 - Leeds - 86 points 4 - West Brom - 81 points 5 - Villa - 79 points 6 - Boro - 73 point 7 - Derby - 72 points 8 - Bristol - 70 points
  15. I can already picture it, Sawiris and Edens unveil the kit at the launch they bring out Tony Xia wearing our new home shirt, the plans for our theme park emblazoned across it. Villa Talk is offline for days after the meltdown. All is good with the world.
  16. I don't really get the hatred for Hogan, at the end of the day Aston Villa chose to pay the money and pay the wages for him. Aston Villa bought a player that they had to integrate into their squad and Aston Villa bought a player they then had to get the best out of. We have no one to blame but ourselves for this transfer. When we signed Hogan he was banging in goals for fun in a Brentford side playing the type of football we are now playing, he came to us and Bruce set him up to fail (not intentionally) by having balls lumped forward to him. By the time we adjusted to suit his game (a very long time) his confidence was shot to pieces. Granted he doesn't seem to be a 12 million footballer, but we paid that not him. By the sounds of things he's a player that always gives 100% in training and on the pitch, unlike some players we have had over the past few years. Personally I wish him the best of luck whether that's with us next season or elsewhere. If Smith can get him firing again over the summer then we could save ourselves splashing more money on a second striker rather and strengthen elsewhere in the team. He's an Aston Villa player and we should be behind him until he is not.
  17. Yes he signed a contract extension last month, extended until 2020.
  18. The confidence is worrying me now, even I'm confident going into these playoffs and already in my head we are in the final. I hope the players aren't taking it as complacently as some of us fans. I'm absolutely dreading these playoff games, as a neutral they are brilliant to watch and I am looking forward to watching the 3rd vs 6th game; but as we all know they are absolutely no fun when your team is in them. Those games against Boro last season were the most nerve wracking I've ever been to. One off day and the 46 games you have worked so hard in all season become meaningless. That all being said we are this years Fulham, and a week's rest for some of this squad will do them the world of good going into next Saturday.
  19. No, the clubs would be looking for ridiculous fees 15-20 million each. I would potentially take one of Lolley or Maupay. If we spent 60 million on 3 Championship players I would be furious. At the moment it will take around 50-60 million just to keep hold of Mings, Tuanzebe, Hause, El Ghazi and Abraham; that's even if we can buy any of them.
  20. Steer Hutton Tuanzebe Chester/Elphick Hause Whelan Hourihane Lansbury/Bjarnasson Green Davis Kodjia/El Ghazi It's easy to say rest all of the players but realistically we still want to stay competitive, Norwich will come here to win the league. Tuanzebe, Hourihane, Whelan and Green have all been rested at some point over the last few weeks, they will be fine with some gametime. Chester, Hause, Elphick and Hutton could all do with some gametime after being injured.
