  1. Ifs and Buts (updated) Doesn't matter anymore but it's turned into a superstition. West Brom to beat Rotherham - West Brom Win Boro to draw to Reading - Boro Win Bristol to draw to Derby - Derby Win Villa to beat Leeds - Draw Bristol to beat Millwall Derby to draw to Swansea 3 - Leeds - 83 points 4 - West Brom - 80 points 5 - Villa - 76 points - Confirmed 6 - Derby - 70 points 7 - Boro - 70 point 8 - Bristol - 66 points
  2. Bit of context on why he lost his head so much yesterday. I was in the stands at Leeds, when he put the ball out of play for the injured Leeds player he got a bit of stick off the Villa fans and tried to explain to them why he had done it. For Leeds then to score from the same situation obviously riled him up. Love the way he reacted though, these are the type of players we have missed at Villa over the past few years.
  3. WBA the most spawny team in the league.
  4. Roofe, Alioski & Douglas all out... full strength here and I can't see anything other than a Villa win.
  5. The fact we now have Mings, Tuanzebe, Chester, Hause, Elphick and Jedinak competing for a centre back spot is incredible... It's even more incredible when you look at our back line last time we played Leeds: Nyland Elmo Bree Chester Hutton
  6. I've got a VW 2.0 Turbo Automatic with DSG gear box, it's absolutely brilliant. People argue that automatics aren't fun to drive, this car is the best fun I've ever had since I started driving. Would never go back to manual now, although I don't know how a standard automatic would compare to the DSG with paddle-shift's.
  7. I would imagine it's more about us using loopholes where possible to fall in line with FFP, loopholes that he doesn't want the entire league seeing and utilizing themselves. The less people that see how we are working our books the better, and realistically if the EFL have approved our finances this year there shouldn't be a problem. Gibson's just a sad man who blew his money on poor players and backed a manager who fell short at the final hurdle.
  8. I would leave Abraham out for the next two games. I would play McGinn and Grealish against Leeds and see where it gets us in terms of WBA. At the least a good performance and a win destroys even more confidence in Leeds. Against Norwich we should be resting players, Grealish has no need to be playing, McGinn could do with a week off.
  9. Slowly becoming one of my favourite players in this squad, as people have mentioned he is growing into his role and starting to show some of the flair that we have missed on the wings for years. The left hand side of the pitch is devastating with El Ghazi and Taylor linking up so well and Grealish being a pass away. If only our right side was up to the same standard this team would be frightening. El Ghazi's added tracking back to his game, he's losing the fear of losing the ball whilst taking on a full back and Taylor overlapping him is now giving him the option to cut inside at will. For 6 million we should be snapping him up as soon as possible, players like El Ghazi are what the club need's, able to be improved by our coaching staff, add re-sale value whilst delivering an end product on the pitch. Keep it up Gaz
  10. Where have all of the opposition fans gone? We haven't heard from the Leeds or Bristol City fans in the last 24 hours...
  11. There is absolutely no way we should be taking our foot off the gas over the next two weeks. Momentum is key going into the playoffs, if we can carry on this streak of wins it would be a huge psychological boost. Beating Leeds at Elland Road would both boost us and knock them. Players looked a but tired yesterday, but they now have a week off to recover after 2 games in 4 days. Players can then be rested against Norwich, another team who's season could end next weekend. McGinn wasn't up to normal standard but I think this may be more down to him being careful about bookings and not the fact he was overtired. Play our strongest team available and look at resting players against Norwich if they need it.

  14. Did a bit of stat finding tonight on Grealish, I wanted to see how many secondary assists he had made (setting up the assist). Overall this season: Under Bruce Played - 11 Goals - 0 Assists - 1 Secondary Assists - 2 Under Smith Played - 17 Goals - 6 Assists - 5 Secondary Assists - 6 Quite impressive the difference Smith has had on Grealish's game. The secondary assist stat is also quite impressive, he's managed 8 this season.

  18. Not yet confirmed but Laurence Bassini has now taken over Bolton with just the EFL approval to come. All debts are to be repaid. I would imagine the game will be confirmed tomorrow.
  19. I wouldn't want this, he would have been a gamble this season let alone in the Premiership a year later. We need to be buying players for the future with resale value and stop buying players coming to the end of their careers.
  20. Or someone had a good Christmas...
  21. I'm pretty sure that 99 percent of us are in better shape than Ross McCormack...
  22. We have wealthy owners after they bought us on the cheap because our owner who had passed the EFL Fit and Proper Owners Test nearly put the football club out of business the previous season. We have essentially got very lucky with our owners, in the summer we didn't have a pot to p*ss in.
