  1. Couldn't make the game tonight. Am I better off watching on the red button or paying £10 for AVTV with commentary?
  2. It wouldn't surprise me to see Grealish on the bench tonight. I know how much we need him, but we need him 100% for this run in. For me he looked tired against Wednesday in the second half.
  3. Doesn't matter, we are a Championship club playing other Championship clubs. Our players are of same quality as those that we are playing.
  4. If's and But's At the halfway stage for the midweek football. A mixed bag, but fair to say Preston and Nottm Forest are out of the race now. Massive chance to pull away from the pack tomorrow and potentially put pressure on WBA. Bristol City to draw to West Brom - Bristol Win Sheff W to draw to N Forest - Sheff W Win Derby to beat Blackburn - Derby Lost Preston to lose to Leeds - Preston Lost Boro to beat Bolton - Boro Win Hull to beat Wigan Villa to beat Rotherham 4 - West Brom - 70 points 5 - Villa - 66 points 6 - Bristol - 65 points 7 - Boro - 61 point 8 - Derby - 60 points 9 - Hull - 60 Points 10 - Sheff W - 59 Points Games in hand - Derby x 1 & Bristol x 1
  5. Mings / Hause / Tuanzebe / Chester / Elphick or Lescott / Richards / Okore / Clark I know which ones I would rather have!
  6. No chance you can drop Taylor right now, he's playing the best football I've seen him play in the past two seasons. Tuanzebe looked rusty when he came on on Saturday. This isn't a point in the season you can be changing a back line that has only conceded 3 goals in 6 games. Granted if Hause's injury keeps him out tomorrow then Tuanzebe is a shoe in and I'm sure he will step back up to the form we saw earlier in the season.
  7. If's and But's As requested I have added in West Brom Bristol City to draw to West Brom Sheff W to draw to N Forest Derby to beat Blackburn Preston to lose to Leeds Boro to beat Bolton Hull to beat Wigan Villa to beat Rotherham 4 - West Brom - 71 points 5 - Villa - 66 points 6 - Bristol - 63 points 7 - Derby - 63 points 8 - Boro - 61 point 9 - Hull - 60 Points 10 - N Forest - 58 points 11 - Preston - 57 points Games in hand - Derby x 1 & Bristol x 1
  8. Also worth noting that Hause went off with Tuanzebe coming on, that in itself had the potential to unsettle the defence but we saw the game out well. Not Mings best game but still dealt with everything thrown at him second half. Personally think he was unlucky for the penalty.
  9. Steer Elmo Tuanzebe Mings Taylor Hourihane McGinn Grealish El Ghazi Abraham Adomah Freshen the side up and give Green and Whelan a bit of a rest. Hause is likely going to be out injured so it will be a good game for Tuanzebe to get some match fitness, he looked a bit rusty yesterday. Would be good to get ahead and bring Lansbury on for Grealish and Kodjia for El Ghazi. All about playing the squad well at this point in the season.

  11. Yeh I noticed this after the penalty save, he celebrated as though he had just scored. Fantastic to see.
  12. Saw a few people mention this in the post match, I actually think Elmo lost his man which stretched the back line and led to the centre backs not covering Taylors position for him. He's been brilliant over the past few weeks, long may it contince.
  13. Great movement for the goal and great cross later on as well.
  14. If's and But's I would end these now we are nicely nestled in 5th, but superstition tells me we've won every game since I've started. We might even win the league if I carry on... Bristol City to draw to West Brom Sheff W to draw to N Forest Derby to beat Blackburn Preston to lose to Leeds Boro to beat Bolton Hull to beat Wigan Villa to beat Rotherham 5 - Villa - 66 points 6 - Bristol - 63 points 7 - Derby - 63 points 8 - Boro - 61 point 9 - Hull - 60 Points 10 - N Forest - 58 points 11 - Preston - 57 points Games in hand - Derby x 1 & Bristol x 1
  15. If's and But's (updated) What a weekend! Just look at those ticks!!! Boro to draw to Bristol City - Bristol Win Forest to beat Rotherham - Rotherham Win Preston to lose to Sheff U - Sheff U Win Derby to draw to Brentford - Draw Swansea to draw to Boro - Swansea Win Bristol City to beat Wigan - Draw Villa to beat Sheff W - VILLA WIN 5 - Villa - 63 points 6 - Bristol - 62 points 7 - Derby - 60 points 8 - Boro - 58 points 9 - N Forest - 57 points 10 - Preston - 57 points 11 - Hull - 57 Points Games in hand - Derby x 1 & Bristol x 1
  16. Just got back from the game. Absolutely massive win, although we didn't really deserve it. The away support was phenomenal, I had barely picked myself up from the floor after Adomah's goal before Abraham stuck one in. Once again the fans pulled the team over the line, credit where it's due. Credit goes to Steer, Taylor, McGinn & Adomah Steer kept us in the game with the penalty save. I've said it before but he commands the box so well, takes every aerial ball and organises the defence so well. Taylor has been solid for a number of games now, he flys under the radar with fans quick to jump on his back but lately he has been class at left back. Today he didn't put a foot wrong and the left side looked a lot stronger for it. McGinn is a workhorse and is just relentless for 90 minutes. He's the glue that holds the midfield together (even Grealish) Adomah did what he hasn't done for a year, he changed a game and finished arrived late to finish a game off. Green was poor today and he's staked a claim for a starting spot, competition in a squad is what we need. Onto Rotherham, a nice win with a clean sheet heading into Bristol City at home will do the squad a world of good. Up the f**king Villa
  17. Also finding this very strange, looking on their forum they are all 100% sure they will beat us tomorrow. No one evens mentions the form we are currently in. Either they are have seen something very special over the last few weeks or they are in for a massive shock come 3pm tomorrow. Lets hope it's the latter.
  18. Believe he is currently injured.
  19. Fast becoming one of my favourite players. In some way's I don't think he realises how good he could be. He needs to become a bit more direct, run at fullbacks and cut inside a bit more for shots on goal. He has bags of tricks in the locker that he can use to unlock defences which he has shown flashes of.
  20. Really looking forward to this one, not yet been to Hillsborough so a new ground for me as well. Would go with the below team, don't think it need's changing from the weekend. If we can nick an early goal it would take the pressure off and then allow us to take the game to them. If Bruce sets them up to sit back as he usually does we should easily have enough to break them down over the course of 90 minutes. Steer Elmo Hause Mings Taylor Whelan McGinn Grealish El Ghazi Abraham Green
  21. Pretty simple, he missed out Whelan had a good game and retained his place. I fully expect Whelan to play on Saturday again and break up the play in midfield with Bannan in his back pocket. Hourihane then comes back in for Whelan on Wednesday against Rotherham where we can play a more attacking game and give Whelan a rest. It's a fantastic problem to have overall.
  22. Based on last season that would see us finish 5th
  23. I would disagree, we can afford a loss and possibly two draws at the very most. If that were to happen we would just manage 6th if results went our way. It's going to be extremely tight unless we keep the wins rolling in.
  24. What formation are you using? Also what playing styles are you using in each position? Are the players adept at playing in those styles? For example have you got two ball playing defenders at centre back, one with a left foot and one with a right foot? Is at least dominating in the air? It took me a season or two to get my defence sorted but I now rarely concede.
