  1. It's been a long tough road... but I think I'm over the Jack Grealish saga. I've possibly even forgiven him for leaving us. I didn't think I would ever celebrate a Jack Grealish goal but on Monday I did, and I was chuffed for him. Maybe it's because our club now looks to be back in capable hands, with a plan for the future. Or maybe it's just that you can't really hate Jack.
  2. The club were in a tricky position as Luiz could leave for nothing this Summer. It would have been in Villa's interest to offer Luiz a new deal, double his wages, pay him a 5 million signing on fee, and a release clause. If Villa now sell him for 30 million; the club makes 25 million more than they would have made without the new contract. I'm not saying that happened, but it's potentially what the club were thinking.

  4. Cheers for this. I'm working my way through each series; there are some great videos. Really enjoying the channel.
  5. So I spilt some water on my MacBook Pro over the weekend; it's all still working apart from the trackpad which has completely died. Has anyone had this happen before? I'm guessing it's going to cost a fortune to replace, so may have to claim on the house insurance.
  6. Completely bypassed me that this is now out! Will get it for Christmas as finishing Ghosts at the moment.
  7. Dropping Martinez cost us tonight. Olsen is Nyland level of a goalkeeper. We have very little squad depth, Chambers, Augustinson and McGinn are all not good enough.
  8. I prefer the round badge personally. But I would much prefer the lion facing to the left; it looks completely wrong facing the right. I understand the sentiment behind it being the same as our first badge, but the lion has face right for 12 years in our 148 year history. The lion has faced left for 136 years. I don't really get it.
  9. Get him back and in our squad. With 5 subs we could do worse than utilise him for the remainder of the season. Personally I don't see Bailey as that much of an upgrade.

    Unai Emery

Completely agree; Gerrard almost tore up the work Smith started, but hopefully Emery can now get it back on track whilst taking it to the next level.
  11. A manager that adapts his system to get the best out of the players? Someone needs to let him know we don’t do that at B6.
  12. For me it's Rodgers, Emery or Amorim. Amorim seems like a bit of an unknown, on paper he seems the business and has proved he can turn clubs around. But the Premier League is a different level to Portuguese league. We aren't currently in a position to be taking gambles on managers, we currently look like the worst team in the league and it needs fixing sharpish. Rodgers is a manager I've liked for a long time. He's got Premier League experience and has proven himself; he would also be good for some of the younger players in the team. Leicester seem to have picked up slightly though, so I don't think he would be as open to joining us as he may have been earlier in the season. Emery is probably the standout manager for me. It didn't work out for him at Arsenal, but Wenger was always going to be a tough manager to follow; only this year have the club stabilised themselves and that is largely to fixing the playing staff after years of mismanagement by the board. Emery is a proven European manager, which would be the next step for us. I think we should be pushing for him to join and give him time and money to turn us into a competitive side.
  13. They certainly have struggled to sell tickets with awful performances and results. The relegation season was depressing, with a half full Villa Park. The Championship seasons had closures to areas of the stadium because our fans couldn't fill it. The last few weeks haven't sold out coinciding with our poor form. It happens every-time the club falter; and it would certainly happen again.
  14. This has probably already been posted but it's a pretty good insight into Ruben Amorim. No Premier League experience, and would be a slight gamble; but what he has achieved in Portugal is insane. Amorim or Rodgers for me.
  15. Give the club a chance, Gerrard's only been gone 24 hours. It's a huge call now, the club got it massively wrong appointing Gerrard and changing tactics on the transfer front. The strategy of the club needs defining, and that comes from the top. For me Purslow and Lange need to go as well for a full reset before we press on again.
  16. You can't honestly think the referee was the reason we didn't win tonight? We've created nothing, given them the space of the pitch whilst looking completely clueless for 90 minutes. Poor refereeing decisions but not the deciding factor tonight.
  17. Poor mistake for the first, I don't blame him for the second it didn't look like a foul and you can't blame Mings for Mount scoring an outrageous free kick. Mings hasn't lost us the game though; poor finishing and not taking our chances again has done that.
  18. Try 'Your Honour' if you can find it. Same kind of vibe as 'The Night Of' and equally as good.

    Energy Bills

We literally had this done on an extension that had been put on the back of our kitchen. The tiled roof on the extension had no insulation in and it was freezing in the winter; I took down the ceiling myself. The builders then insulated it for me (they also bricked up some windows and replaced some others) then plaster-boarded it, plastered it and I painted. It's now as warm as the rest of the house.
  20. It's a funny one today. My head say's I would love to lose this game so that Gerrard gets the boot and we move onto better things. But realistically I want us to win the game, and not ruin my week with a wasted trip to Nottingham. Regardless of whether Gerrard stays or goes, this is a game we should be winning and it's a game that we'll look back on later in the season as a game we missed 3 points on if we don't take them. If we end up with a new manager in the second half of the season these 3 points could be vital to our final position. In my opinion Gerrard won't last the season, there are very few performances in his tenure that give me any hope that he can turn our current form around. And if I'm honest I don't want him to. But there are games to come where he can prove how inept he is, Chelsea next week can be a start. You only have to look at the perfomances of teams such as QPR, Brighton, Newcastle & Arsenal to see the difference a manager and club with a defined strategy can make. They are all on an upward trajectory whilst our club seem's to be falling away. Anyway on to 3 points, regardless of the performance that accompanies it.
  21. Grealish has been brilliant in the last few games. Nice to see him back to his best.
  22. One of the best series I've watched this year.
  23. I'm pretty certain the the round version will win. Fans have been calling for it to come back since the Ellis days. Even though it's not going to be the original, I'm pretty certain it will win any votes as long as it's not a horror show. It would have been good to have a few versions of a round badge. Let the fans have a few rounds of voting/discussions, before deciding. We don't want to be back in this situation in 5 years with fans calling for the original round badge or something daft.
  24. Having a fairly average/poor start to this season. Hoping that by holding the Wildcard it will pay off for me in a few weeks time, as most seem to have used theirs already.
