  1. It'll be interesting to see what happens next season, if nothing else. Money doesn't equal success after all; it comes down to savvy just add much as resources. If they keep Craig Gardner as their DoF, they're no danger to anyone. As for us being rattled? Surely they must understand that even in a best case scenario it'll take many, many years before they reach the level we're at now, by which time we could very well have advanced even further. They always have, and always will be, in our shadow.
  2. Pau looks damn good in it though.
  3. Thrilled to see his name in the Villa Talk section again. One of my favourite players ever, simply for the determination he always had. He will no doubt be an exceptional role model for the youngsters. Welcome back, Conor!
  4. He cost us 15 million We think he's worth a billion The sexiest Brazilian He's Doug-a-las Luiz Douglas Luiz *clap clap* Etc
  5. Immediately after this clip he said "Also, the Earth is flat. I know because it looks that way to me." I'm guessing.
  6. Don't you have to table it before you can slap it in?
  7. This thread proved an interesting read. I have to admit, before Emery came along I never realised just how much of an impact a proper manager can have. This is a squad that is comfortably top half quality, and it's crazy how long it has taken for that to be demonstrated.
  8. People are getting what you're saying just fine. You should consider that maybe you're not doing a great job of saying what you're trying to say.
  9. I wouldn't say he's a reject. He's well thought of at Real Madrid as a rotation option, just not quite good enough to secure a starting position. He'd be one hell of a signing of we pulled it off.

    Unai Emery

I get the impression Emery himself would be in total agreement.

    Paul McGrath

God's reply: Humble as ever. He'd have tucked Haaland in his back pocket just like everyone else, I'm sure.
  12. Is he getting him mixed up with Delia Smith?
  13. It would've been coming out of both ends if he went there. And it would've started much sooner, too. It'd be Gary Lineker all over again.
  14. Olsen is not great, but he's nowhere near the worst keeper I've seen. Considering he's playing backup to officially the best keeper in the world, he's not as bad as he's being made out to be. That said, our backup has to be good enough to play Emery's style competently so as not to unsettle the defence, and for that reason alone he should be replaced unfortunately.

Finally, we have a positive record to our name. Don Unai strikes again.

Don Unai took a scalpel to our squad. He'd have to use a machete on theirs.
  17. This is the only reason I don't want them to drop. One season out of the PL and Arsenal v Man U draws level. After another, We've lost that record. It's a small thing, but I've always thought it was a nice little fact about us.
  18. I saw a lot of Newcastle fans before the game talking about how we don't do our research before giving opinions on them, but they do the exact same thing. Watkins was already bang in form going into the game, of course he'd be a threat. As for Mings, anyone who actually "did their research" rather than jumping on a bandwagon would know he's far, far better than he's perceived to be. All fans should agree to stop trying to seriously analyse a club they pay no attention to, because you're just seeing yourself up for embarrassment that way. Or they could just carry on and I can keep laughing at them, either works for me.

We're building a pantheon of gods. Who will be next, I wonder?
