  1. Seems like a great appointment. I'm not going to pretend I know anything about him, but when the fans are gutted about someone leaving their club that can only be a good sign. It's worth noting that the Elite Badge is not a UEFA thing, but an English FA badge. It was a special course run in 2013, offered to something like 40 of the best English coaches around, of which Critchley was one. Only 16 graduated, so he is certainly held in high regard.
  2. The second one is a stone wall penalty, but in the first one it does look like the Huddersfield player was practically throwing himself to the floor before the contact was made.
  3. I think growing up with social media has more to do with the player's closeness than Southgate. They all seem to be good mates and regularly interact with each other over different social media platforms, the clubs they represent being irrelevant.
  4. Interesting analogy. I think the key difference here is that Luis Suarez is still alive.
  5. To be fair, Alfred Aldomah was great for us. Better than that Albert Adomah fella, that's for sure.
  6. Gerrard's great vision: 11 players skidding about on their arses for 90 minutes.
  7. Time to get rid of that speculation tag. Fantastic work by the club, as per. Getting all the main targets in early is crucial for preseason. Doing it before the window is even open though, that's just spectacular.
  8. I already thought he'd bea great bit of business, but now I want this signing more because of that pun.
  9. Sounds like he'd fit our style perfectly.
  10. If Villa were bought out by a regime that actively wants people like me dead I'd never watch another Villa game ever again. I'd find some local grassroots team and support them instead. I sure as hell wouldn't make excuses for them like the Geordies are doing. Some (let's be honest, most) things are bigger than football.
  11. There's something to be said for all three. I've always had s bit of a soft spot for Everton. They always seem to be in roughly the same sort of place as us and I've never met a bad fan. Their predicament this season has brought the cavemen among their fans out in force, but then I suppose that happens to all clubs going through a rough patch. It'd be weird to see them drop. On the other hand, if they spent long enough in the championship, eventually we'd overtake them in time spent in the English top flight, so there's that. Leeds are nobheads and seeing them relegated would be both hilarious and deserved. But as has been stated, their abrasiveness makes them interesting so they definitely add something to the league. Also my dad is a Leeds fan, so being able to sit and watch our matches with him whenever I visit is worth it. Burnley... Who cares, honestly. I voted for them.
  12. It's like playing FM on the easiest difficulty with the unlimited money cheat on, and still being incapable of winning everything. I'd be very frustrated if I were so incompetent.
  13. That's pretty interesting. Clearly we're doing something right. Edit: I assume this includes McGinn too? And what about Cash?
  14. The thing with our takeovers, particularly in the case of NSWE, it was as much about luck as it was too do with our stature and pedigree - a club available for Championship prices with Premier League facilities is a tempting prospect. Everton have a similar standing as we do, so there's every chance they'll be snapped up by good owners too.
  15. This would be a fair argument if he hadn't already been filmed shouting "f*** Brentford". It's very hard to give him the benefit of the doubt.
  16. He'd already said he was a professional footballer. When asked what team you play for after saying that, why else would you not name the club other than if you're embarrassed to be associated with them? Brentford are a fantastically well run club and they deserve far more respect than that. Toney needs a reality check, he isn't the megastar he clearly thinks he is.
  17. I don't speak to my cousin much since he moved down south, but last night he called me just to sing that Coutinho song down the phone. Magic indeed.
  18. He might have said something by now if he was the one who ran his account. But he's so high profile now, there's no way he's allowed.
  19. He's proven time and time again that he's capable of it. I think we as fans lose sight of how difficult football at this level is. Literally every single player in this league, even at teams like Norwich and Watford, are brilliant players. They wouldn't be PL otherwise. But when compared to each other, they can look absolute pants because they're all operating at such a high level. In conclusion, Ollie is not and never was crap. He just wasn't quite on it.
  20. The mad thing is, the reason so many Asians wear masks in airports, around Birmingham etc is because of SARS. Now we're all doing it because of SARS-2. They've been through this before and were prepared. Back on topic: Philippe knows what it's like to throw away the adoration of fans and potential legendary status for easy glory, and he didn't like it. I only hope he's learned from that mistake. Also it's probably been said before, but it's funny how Coutinho left Liverpool for crazy money, who used that money to improve their whole team and kick on. Now Jack has left us for crazy money, we've gone and done the same thing, in part by (hopefully) buying the same guy who's sale improved Liverpool. It's almost poetic.
