Have we signed a single player or loaned a player to any of these teams yet? Only example I can think is the two kids to Unai’s team but not sure if they’ve been playing much.
Seems like we go to a lot of effort on these things setting up elaborate structures but yet to see what impact it can make on the first team.
It's not an overnight results thing.
We'll have to assess their current talent, guide their future recruitment process to align with the overall aim of the group (and specifically Villa) and it seems we're sharing training practices and other technical information with the clubs to help them improve their on and off field operations.
The payoff comes a few years down the line, unless by happy coincidence there is someone already built for us on their books.
Edit: but also, this approach SHOULD also help those clubs. They get more immediate results, we get longer term ones.

The contract length was a direct result of him lowering his wage demands.
We couldn't afford him within our FFP demands on a higher salary, but by extending the contract we lowered annual amortisation and his annual salary.
I imagine we thought we'd get a 30m player for two seasons on a 15m players salary, and then accept the other two years as a long term payoff. Sadly he broke quicker than we thought he would. What could have been...

Vasco da Gama, Vitória de Guimarães, a partnership with Vissel Kobe... I didn't realise we were going to be so committed to this bit.
May have started accidentally but once the trend sets in you have to go with it.
Real Union get special exemption status due to Emery, but Zed better change their name to Vee or they're out!

Well yeah, that's always how it's worked. I do find it very depressing how corrupt and money driven the game is now. Wish we would hurry up and win the Prem & CL so I can go and follow a less corrupt sport instead!
You may have said this in jest, but that's really how it kind of feels to me at the moment.

This may very well be good for Villa. But my god it’s bad and depressing for football. A world famous institution bought to be a feeder club for a club 9,000km away. Absolutely grim.
Multi-club ownerships should be banned, pretty much optimises everything that is wrong with modern football.
The naive me kind of hopes that it will see success for any of our "feeder" clubs too. City group have a mix of teams, some that they've gutted and sunk down the tiers, and others that are now having their most successful ever period.
I'd hope we find a way to improve all the clubs we link up with. Mutually beneficial kind of way.
Imagine sending some of our youth players off to Brazil to learn from them, and them sending some of their youths to us to learn the Emery ways. Some make the switch permanently, some take back what they've learned, everyone's a winner.
Vasco have the potential to make a lot of money so presumably they'll be hoping they're successful.
If done properly, I'm not sure it's grim, but I don't know if we'll do it properly.

Two biggest claims in the latest article...
He didn't know we were planning to change the badge
Quote"Then all of a sudden, I show up on day one and it changed – you can imagine that was quite a shock,” Heck recalls.
Well what research did he do about the job offer? We launched our original crest redesign survey in June 2022 and announced the results that November. He wasn't hired until May 2023.
The other one... he consulted the fans more than previously...
QuoteWe’re cleaning it up,” Heck explains. This time, Aston Villa has consulted its fanbase in depth, after complaints the options they received last time around didn’t offer much choice.
Well that's just not true. We did a single survey, much like last time, but then the meetings with Fan Advisory boards were cancelled and we didn't get a vote on it.
It's not the acts of a pathological liar, but it is someone trying to make themselves look better than they are .

Some of you have a really deep dislike to someone whose jobs remit is pretty simple - increase revenues. somone handpicked by self made billionaire Wes Edens who knows a thing or two about running successful sports teams so forgive me for trusting him over some of you with a strange personal vendetta against Heck based on your weird conspiracies and unsubstantiated accusations put across as fact.
Not sure if you're including me in the list, but to provide my two cents...
He's doing a great job increasing revenue whilst also reducing (or minimising increased) costs.
He's doing a terrible job of keeping the core match going fan base happy and seems to want to alienate another 900 this post season.
He's doing a terrible job of communicating the changes he's making, and demonstrably lying in interviews with paid for journalists.
Overall, if his remit is singularly what you say, then he's currently doing that well. But he's got a limited amount of good will left to abuse to continue on his income increasing ventures at the fans detriment without expanding the capacity of Villa Park.

Stick with the light or pale blue we’ve had on previous badges and shirts mate… the shade you keep using is truly spoiling all of your wonderful designs. Something more subtle and less saturated - I would honestly like to see them all again with the proper kind of blue.
Cheers
Don’t bother with shitty yellow though Gold all the way
Our new claret appears to be darker also. Unless it's a temporary Heck thing for the 150 years

Accepting all the known limitations and even the assumed limitations that went in to the redesign..... this is what we should have ended up with.
The drop shadow is no longer offensive, and in fact its barely noticeable. But it does its job of allowing the lion to stand out.
The lion is central and at a distance doesn't look like he's squished up the top of the badge for no apparent reason.
The name doesn't look misaligned because the space in the middle of it directly aligns with the middle of the lions head. It's meant to be.
I can't understand why, when knowing he wanted to stick close to our previous identity, we didn't do this.

The City owners have probably saved the UK government hundreds of millions by redeveloping large parts of Manchester.
And promised further investment, chunky envelopes, all expenses trips, and private flights to anyone that matters.
There's no way these charges are sticking, and it's not because they're innocent.
There is no way to unwind what they've done, and if they get away with it, Newcastle will very shortly follow suit.

Well gentlemen, thank you for taking part, the results are in and are as below - congratulations to the mid table master, @tonyh29 on a stunning victory.
Where there are ties, I've tried to sort them by most teams in the exact correct position (in brackets) if that was still equal I went with alphabetical order, which isn't fair.
Please check your own results, I drink.

What does this mean?
It means Buendia is in first team training, Ramsey is sitting at home.

Could be a very smart signing. If he repeats this years form, we get an extra body in our injury hit midfield and he costs us very little. Surely he's happy taking a low salary again if he was on 30k at Luton.

Looking at our squad as of today and excluding loans in this season (Zaniolo/Lenglet), I think we have 13 players that the club wouldn’t want to sell or loan out, or they’re recovering from injury and therefore unlikely to receive bids for:
Martinez, Gauci, Konsa, Mings, Pau, McGinn, Tielemans, Buendia, Diaby, Rogers, Bailey, Kamara, Watkins.
Then we have a group of 11 players that we may not want to sell but FFP/PSR etc forces our hand somewhat. Or we may privately be happy to move on if the right offers (sale or loan) are received:
Cash, Carlos, Digne, Moreno, KKH, Luiz, Ramsey, Iroegbunum, Duran, Sinisalo and Marshall.
Finally from the current squad, I think we’d like to sell, loan or release this summer these six players for starters:
Olsen, Chambers, Hause, Coutinho, Dendoncker, Archer (again)
Personally, I reckon Emery would love to bring four or five in (permanent or loan) but much will depend on who stays and who goes?
Need to move Ramsey in to the top bracket. He's more injured than Buendia at the moment.
I think we might well pay some off if there is any leeway in our 23/24 finances. Better to take the hit this year if we can afford it, and then frees up their weekly salary for next year.

An easy group that Southgate should be able to get us out of. Let's see if even be can mess this up.

Did many people complain about that? And how is a solution where we have zero choice the right thing to do?
Yet were consulted far more about that circular badge than we have been about this one
Not remotely true
It's a work of art in the form of a puff piece. There aren't any positive elements/factors to accentuate, so they make them up.
Brilliant.

Surely costs on rebranding should be excusable from FFP/PSR. Why go cheap and in house on it?

Not sure if it's the "bodge job" (still better than anything I could do so thank you) but it doesn't feel like it works.
The yellow/gold just doesn't seem to fit.
I think, obviously, it would look better in real life, but I kind of expected it to look better than the arsenal kit just in flat form because our colours are so much better and their blue just seems to break their clean look.
Hmm. Maybe they've got a different colour lined up for the stripes/sash

Alleged that he tried to intentionally get booked in our game with them on 12th March 2023. Anyone remember if he did and whether it looked like a stupid booking?
