  1. Gareth must have seen Ezri filling in at right back.
  2. "Lion reversed" ??? From what it is/was? Oh, the uproar.
  3. Of the fit players, I think we started our strongest eleven. Villa were the strongest team, even in second half Only used one substitute... interesting Diaby seemed to be 'off', but also was not getting a lot of service. Martínez, Good Cash, Really good Konsa, Really good Torres, Good Digne, Really good Kamara, Really good Luiz, Really good McGinn, Excellent Tielemans, Excellent Diaby, Average Watkins, Good Bailey 61', Really good
  4. Two things 1) I suspect the intent is if say Dougie shoots and defender gets his foot head in the way and the ball goes to Ollie behind him in an offside position behind him then it is an offside. 2) Regardless of what VAR says, is it not the on field referee's final decision that counts?
  5. Villa were the better side and deserved the win. Lenglet's goal was not offside Their goal looked offside to me A goal for Diego The corner was part of the comedy of errors that occurred, but was understandable Beautiful assist Dougie, lovely goal Ollie A lot of solid performances, no dreadful ones Ball in the back of the net three times is hardly "toothless". Three headers ... indicative of a solid low-block defence. Apart from that, we were awful against a team that is only second in the Netherlands' first division.
  6. How about advocating for an effective punishment or perhaps a consequence?
  7. Just out of curiosity how many VTers believe: in cause and effect exceptions to cause and effect free will It is the Israel/Palestine thread that is prompting this question in me.
  8. 1) Definitely not out of play 2) Definitely a push in the back 3) Definitely don't have a clue what offside is these days.
  9. I am amazed you have never heard of it before. She was the lead actress in the film of the same name and Sydney Poitier was the lead actor.
  10. It's probably the softness of the local geographic water on the map. There should be a little pale blue line from the Elan Valley to Birmingham.
  11. I can't help but suspect that it is more religious than racial. There is the Islamic - Jewish chasm, and then the political aspects, left - right. Hamas full well knew what the result would be of their incursion. Israelis know full well what the results of their reprisal will be. My particular bias is that I hold the Israelis to a higher standard than I do its neighbours.
  12. Fair enough ... but why are you (we) not pointing out passionately these other alleged wrongs in the Middle East? He is asking whether (perhaps implying) there is a bias. Is that not somehow relevant?
  13. A little rhetorical for my taste ... but it is an interesting point
  14. What was the actual post that got him into hot water? I can't seem to find a copy ... screen shot anyone?
  15. A boring answer to a question asked on another thread. The light is re-emitted in the infrared.
  16. Currently reading Determined by Robert Sapolsky. If anyone is interested in the biochemical origins of our behaviours then this is a book for you. As the title implies it is a pot-shot at free will. I would say it is an easier read than his Behave.
  17. For Diaby's goal when everyone went to 'hug' Diaby, Ollie went to retrieve the ball from the net. Presumably as a commemoration for Diaby's first Premier League goal.
  18. Saw him play twice ... a 4-0 defeat to the Blose (1968) and a 1-4 win over Naarrech (1975) I can't say I remember much from way back then.
