  1. If Hollis was to walk and leave Lerner on his own then couldn't us Villa fans storm the Bastille and take control of the club? Lerners not gonna be within 2000 miles of Villa Park. We can't do any worse than him to be fair.
  2. I know I'm late to the party but... Jesus ***** Christ!! What the hell is going on in that retarded mans head? Just when we start to feel like things could settle, this happens. It must be something big, King wouldn't just resign like that over a minor disagreement. His letter doesn't seem to indicate that a sale is lined up right now. My bet is they put a proposal to Lerner that detailed the sweeping changes that need to be made to make us successful again and he said no, not if it involves me spending any money.
  3. Arnold Schwarzenegger? Homer Simpson?
  4. I'd be more than happy with Moyes, especially with a decent transfer kitty. There's still no guarantees, there isn't with any manager but I'd be happy with the choice. A lot of people point to his recent appointments as failures he may well also have learnt a lot from them. As long as he's still driven and hungry, I'd take him all day long.
  5. Rotherham have a fairly new ground, the New York stadium, it looks impressive from the outside but I imagine it's a bit like a mini Emirates inside, new, cold and soulless. I'd like to go to Hillsborough, The City Ground and Elland Road. To be honest I've not been going for the last year so I'll probably not be able to get away tickets. I guess they'll all be taken by season ticket holders.
  6. The bit - "we intend to restore Aston Villa FC to its rightful place". All well and good, but what we really want to know is how! A simple statement of intent from Randy Lerner outlining his plans to do this is what we've all been crying out for. Where are you Randy? Where are you? Edit: I read that back in the voice of Delia, maybe we should get her on the megaphone at the Southampton game.
  7. Nope, but as angry as I am about him I just thought I'd offer another take on it. To be honest I really don't care what he has to say, actions speak louder than words and he's f****ed that up. He'll be gone at the end of the season and I hope we don't see him in on the pitch in the last four game s.
  8. Just to play Devils advocate a little (and I can't stand Lescott as much as the next man), I do think he meant well with his comments. It was a massively stupid thing to say, yes. What he should have said was "I'm wholeheartedly sorry for my absolutely shite performances this season, I've let myself, the club and the hardworking Villa fans that pay my exorbitant wages down. I've got no excuses and I'm ashamed to have played apart in relegating this great club". But this man isn't known for his brains. His comments were a fumbled attempt of displaying the pressure he's felt this season, the players haven't coped with it at all. They're mentally weak. We've seen this in games when the games lost they come to life and show some fight. They're better without pressure. His comments were very poorly thought out but I don't think they were intentionally said just to insult us.
  9. Very unlikely but Benteke's 20-1 to come back. Now that would be nice.
  10. Sinclair could have the bandaged face of the invisible man...
  11. I do think he's potentially a lot better than he seems, maybe a season in the championship will be good for him and with a bit of confidence he might prove himself. He did well enough in France so he has got some ability, it's just finding the right level for him to demonstrate it.
  12. Can't believe we spent £2m on him, I mean I know you don't get much for that these days but ffs we were robbed!
  13. Gallows humour is all I've got to detach myself from being upset. It's really very sad that so many die hard Villa fans have become detached.
  14. I'm looking forward to it already! I assume all three went straight to united players?
  15. It's a strange feeling now that we are officially down. I think came to terms with it a long time ago, I'm still bloody angry about how it's been allowed to happen though. Everything's been said to death about how astonishingly disgraceful we've been so for me I just want to look forward now. I hope to McGrath now that Black only plays those that care, blood some youngsters and repay the fans in the last few games by giving us something we can support. Lets also hope a new manager isn't far away, whoever that might be, and let's hear from the club about what their intentions are for the Championship. We need to look forward now and we need to be united. If we can get the changes we all want then I'm actually looking forward to next season. As long as we have some faith that the club wants to rectify things and properly rebuild. If nothing changes and we carry on in the same vein as the last six years? Well, I don't want to think about that right now. It's the weekend and I don't like being depressed.
  16. Just back from a day out, did I miss anything?
  17. Yep me too, if you watched it purely for the football you'd be severely disappointed. I like to try and predict what's going to happen during the game. You don't often go far wrong with either - "we'll come out positive and pass the ball around well, keeping possession in none threatening areas. Opposition scores just before or after half time then we collapse and concede more". Or "opposition scores within 5 minutes, we collapse and they score more". Both situations will involve a half hearted "fight-back" towards the end, once it's too late. And invariably there will be at least two monumental defensive errors, maybe even an own goal.
  18. Bye bye gabby don't break the door on your way out. Let's hope this is the last we see of him in a Villa shirt. No way should he still be here next season.
  19. But you can't lead Gabby away from KFC.
  20. I don't hold any anger towards Delph, the way he left annoyed me at the time but I don't blame him for wanted to move to a successful club on more money with a chance of winning things. We can all create reasons why he would've been better staying at Villa but if we take our claret and blue raybans off then we'd probably do the same.
  21. I've never made a mistake or changed my mind! Oh wait, actually... Yeah I have, sorry, my mistake
  22. I weally wouldn't want Woy wunning us.
  23. I thought it was the characature that Gabby had done in Barmouth last summer.
