  1. As most of our players can't pass more than 10 yds, westwood provides the link between, receives a 5 yd pass then makes a 5 yd pass. That way we can move the ball over longer distances! Genius really.
  2. Anyone think we might come out and nick this game?
  3. Ayew should have shot first time then across goal, could have rebounded to Gestede
  4. Commentator just said "I think we've seen the best Villa have to offer now". How terribly depressingly true
  5. A shot on target, albeit a tame one. A few more of those please
  6. can see it being 0-0 til half time then Swansea score in the 46th leaving us deflated and then capitulating. It's fun being a villa fan isn't it!
  7. This looks positive indeed. We now have people with Villa in their hearts and football experience. Let's see how this translates into our close season action. I don't expect them to talk about potential investment yet but let's hope money will be made available and a real intent to push for promotion is declared. I know it's hard to be positive after all we've been through but I'm not willing to just rubbish everything we do.
  8. Dwight Yorke in the news again stating his case for the job, the case being that he loves Villa and can get us back up. Hmmm no thanks Yorkie. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/dwight-yorke-want-lead-aston-11058977
  9. No doubt if he was employed in a role similar to his last be could've brought some more revenue in. The CEO role was too much for him and his reputation is now too far gone to go back to that role with us.
  10. Could have been useful employed as a commercial man as at Arsenal but how on earth he landed the CEO job baffles me. Good riddance to more expensive waste. I just hope he's replaced by someone who knows what they're doing.
  11. He is a prize ***** from what I've seen of him and it does no favours in getting fans back onside. However, just because he's on the board, it doesn't mean he is the board. Surely decisions will be made as a group, and having Bernstein and King at the same table gives me more confidence that Krulak won't be calling the shots. I get that Lerner wants someone he trusts (quite why God only knows), let's just hope he keeps his mouth shut and doesn't get in the way. Maybe they can set up on call of duty in the corner while the grown ups talk business.
  12. I love how in nearly all of Deano's photos, he's got his tongue stuck out
  13. I was so full of hope for Nilis when this one went in.
  14. There were some class goals scored by Villa that season. Steve Stauntons at Old Trafford also stands out.
  15. At worst if he's only there to remind the board what a club like Villa expect and how to act with class, then it's still a good appointment.
  16. Ah my memory eludes me! I was only about 12 but remember going bezerk and showing off at school about it next day.
  17. Phil King's winning penalty at the San Siro, those were the days!
  18. Ah the coca-cola cup finals, stop it now you're making me pine for something that's like an impossible dream for us nowadays.
  19. Was a great goal by Dalian that Wimbledon one, the photo made even more special.
  20. Lived in Telford for 28 years, moved to South Yorkshire to live with my fiancé 8 years ago. Never missed Telford once, best thing I ever did.
  21. We'll probably end up with Sschteve McLaren!
  22. I've got no problem with signing lower league players, IF they are the quality ones that perform for their clubs. We've signed too many that aren't even the best at their league 1 club! Westwood, Lowton, Stevens, Bennett, Bunn to name a few
  23. Bacuna.. No.. Westwood! No, erm Veretout... Erm yep absolutely no one! We're soon to be a championship team so he will come very much in handy. We just need to make sure there's a positive, motivated vibe around next years team so he can flourish. Easier said than done I know.
  24. Whatever he did, he didn't do it well. Maybe not all his fault as it seemed he was operating in a new role to him, it seems the board are making changes in the right direction. Time will tell and of course the leadership is only the start, but if they can get that right and follow up with backing for the manager, then maybe we can start to change things.
