  1. I can see it now, the grounds man asks him to re-paint the goal line and he somehow manages to miss or get injured on his way over.
  2. I'd like to think that Brian won't be choosing the next manager but advising the likes of Bernstein as to the 'fit' of said manager to Aston Villa. I know it was 20 years since Little managed us but he has always had an affinity to the club and should have a good grasp of the type of character we need. I expect that between the board they've got plenty of good contacts so they shouldn't be solely relying on Little to make suggestions.
  3. That wouldn't half confuse Gabby, he'd be off to B&Q to buy a spade.
  4. I'm very interested to see the players response on Saturday. Will they put a shift in now he's gone? Or will they continue to not be arsed?
  5. We just need rid of him now, by whatever means possible. He's never gonna improve now, only get worse and drag the rest down with him even more. I'd bring him in, show him the stats, highlight his ineffectiveness, the bad publicity and agree a reduced pay off. The sooner he's gone the better!
  6. sne - I know what you mean, and I don't think the situation can get much worse either. But what if that now Remi's gone the players suddenly start putting more effort it in? Would we still boo them from the off? To be honest I'd be angry if they now all of a sudden start playing as it shows a massive lack of respect for the club now it's too late, I'd want to know why they didn't do it earlier for Remi/Tim. It's probably not likely to happen but I'm still against roundly booing the team from the off. Dont get me wrong I think they fully deserve it, I just worry about the consequences for the club and what's left of our reputation.
  7. While I'm thoroughly fed up and angry with our so called senior players this season, I do think booing them and or abusing them all game would just make things worse. The only thing to come out of this season with any credit at all is the fans. Let's not lose that by kicking off at the players. Im pretty sure they know they've not been good enough, booing every time they touch the ball will just make us look bad. What kind of message does it send out to a potential new manager, owner of players we might try and sign this summer.
  8. So plenty of who we would like, but who do you think we will get?
  9. We need an experienced manager, preferably one out of work that we won't have to pay compensation for.... Mourinho, Pellegrini or Hiddink would do.
  10. Moyes all the way for me. I just hope that the new board have thought this through and that we have someone lined up to take over. I don't even mind if they don't manage the team til this season's done but I'd like it to be announced as soon as possible.
  11. Happy memories, God how we miss players like Laursen and Milner now. It's a disgrace to think we've got Richards and Westwood instead!
  12. Not really a gamble, I doubt he's getting paid much and you never know he might turn out to be a good player in a few years time.
  13. If he we've got any chance of keeping him, we should go all out to do so. I think he'd rip the championship to shreds once he's fit and focused.
  14. He'll surely be gone soon, along with his undercover 'scouting' network.
  15. Just the kind of player Ajax will be looking for!
  16. Nobody's happy, that's certain. But we don't always need to be morbidly pessimistic about everything. Yes it's hard being a Villa fan and pessimism is one of our very recognisable traits, but life's a little bit better if you have some hope that things will improve. We won't be in this state forever, Villa will be back, Randy will be gone. Football goes in cycles, and we'll have our time again.
  17. One of the funniest things I've heard all week... When I first read the headline I thought "Okore's getting ahead of himself again". I never expected this... http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-player-im-looking-11100410
  18. Very well played England, we're in good form and have some decent players coming through. Just hope to god Woy will have the balls to dwop wooney, I really believe we should select players who are in form rather than who's got the most experience.
  19. Looking forward to the game, after watching Villa all season it'll be nice to see a few players that know how to play football. I know it's only a friendly but England need to start performing against the big sides. We've been good in qualifying but shocking when really tested.
  20. I think Hutton might have something to say about that!
  21. Gana is one of the few players I really hope we can keep.
  22. I wouldn't be unhappy with Moyes, I don't hold his records at United and in Spain against him too much. His results at Man U seemed even worse because he followed a title winning Fergie, it was a massive shock to the club and its fans to finish outside the top 4. It'll not be as big a shock this season as they're slowly getting used to being crap now. He didn't do great in Spain but that's not uncommon for British managers. Again he wasn't there for very long. I think with us, he's got a chance to prove himself again. If he steers us to promotion he's a hero, if he doesn't then at least he'll have plans in place for getting there. He's not everyone's cup of tea but we could do a lot worse.
