  1. An easy mistake to make it seems, don't sweat it. It made me laugh.
  2. No worries, it's fine. I'm just glad I haven't got dementia just yet, it's not like me to say things and have no memory of it.
  3. We're going to need a big squad in the championship, lots of games, physical games where we're likely to pick up injuries. we need options and Veretout provides us with just that.
  4. You're right it was Saturday. However it wasn't me that wrote it! Check the usernames again
  5. Which Saturday was that Mike? Pretty sure that's not a recent comment. You've got a better memory than me. Anyway, this is the last home game in the top flight for God knows how long. I'd like to be there, it'll be fun.
  6. I was really wanting to come down for this game, we just can't afford it at the moment though as I've got some big things to pay out this month. Gutted not to be there but I hope those that go have a brilliant time. It's not about the football it's about showing the world our class as fans, and showing the club they can't ignore us. Good luck with the march and have fun smacking beach balls around!
  7. I really can't see the problem here. Man goes to watch son at footy tournament and stays at caravan park. Takes a photo and puts it on his social media page. Just because he's a millionaire footballer doesn't mean he do normal things. As long as he's not photographed smoking and drinking, why should any of us care?
  8. I'd rather keep him. The Championship is probably more his level. He did very well in France so if he could regain that kind of form in the championship he'd be a real asset.
  9. True, much as we're all fed up of him, you can't knock him for taking his son to a football tournament. Most of the time people slate him for having too many kids he never sees.
  10. Regarding the Doug Ellis stand, I've only ever sat there once. I'd got a family ticket against Fulham so took both kids and the missus. It was quiet but people were still singing, nearly everyone joined in with a rendition of John Carew's song but there wasn't much else in the way of sustained chanting. I'd hoped for a lot more since we were sat fairly near the lower north, and it's usually good for a bit of noise in there.
  11. If we manage to sort the team out and start well, winning some games, we will hopefully see a lot of stay away fans return to VP. A full Villa Park, rocking with noise, is an awesome sight. Makes the hairs stand up on my neck
  12. They should be called taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake ooooooooooooooooooooooooovers where we're concerned.
  13. Carrick would be a good signing for us in the championship, doubt he would come though. I'd like to think Gareth Barry still has a soft spot for us, but it's likely he'd get a better offer in the premiership.
  14. I think he should get a 'testicle-removal' instead.
  15. It's crazy that Watford are going to get rid of Flores. Safety and a semi final to boot, what more do they want from their first season promoted? A bad run of form is inevitable for promoted teams, the fact they're still mid-table surely outweighs that. Football's gone mad, it's not the game it used to be.
  16. Bacuna's a Champions League quality player of course! It it is a disgrace that black won't dump the no-hopers and give some of the youth a chance.
  17. Well if you don't mind, I'm going to boldly predict that we will definitely get promoted. Or relegated, or somewhere in between.
  18. A lot can happen between now and August. Also a lot can not happen. It could go either way. Best case we get a buyer willing to invest soon, recruit a new manager and bring in some solid, quality players to complement the ones we're keeping - the ones that have good attitudes. We stand a good chance of promotion if we get it right. Worst case? The sale doesn't materialise, we have no funds and we can't shift a lot of the dross in our squad. Even in this case we will raise money from transfers, my worry is that Lerner won't allow it to be spent on players. Looking at Championship net spend, it's never much more than £10m. If we can get rid of the likes of Gabby, Richards, Lescott, Bacuna and Guzan and bring in some decent replacements then as long as everyone's pulling in the same direction, we still have a chance at going for it. We've got some very good youth talent. We've got players that have quality. We just need to make sure we're working as a team, together.
  19. He's contracted to us for another four years I think? There's fresh mega cash in the premier league and we don't have to sell him if we don't want to. All things that mean we should command a higher transfer fee. The problem sits with what stupid clauses he has written into his contract. I've got no confidence that Fox et al would've protected our assets. He's probably got a £6m release clause and someone will pick up a bargain.
  20. We could do with this guy back
  21. Providing we can actually get rid, where do you think he'll end up?
  22. Have we moved on to Abba puns now?
  23. The thing is though, they have had plenty of abuse and deservedly so. If it's not perfectly clear that we hate them for what they've done to our great club then they must be even more thick than we realised. The players know we hate them, the press know we hate them, other team's fans know we hate them. Continued booing of every touch won't change anything. It might make fans feel better, but why not do something positive? The last home game of our premier league era should be a positive celebration of Aston Villa. I'm not saying support the team. But support the club. A party atmosphere, singing the names of players that cared from our past. Villa til I die, Holte Enders in the sky. Let's show the world what fantastic fans we are and it's the fans that matter. Long after these arseholes have gone, we'll still be here. UTV
