    Unai Emery

Well he's experienced and that means a lot after Gerrard. Be interesting to see how he deals with our fringe players/youngsters and the Countiho issue. I love football, especially the Aston version of it. UTV
  2. You would do but I'm a bit suspicious of the Shetland comms cable that's just been lost, coincidence?
  3. Gerrard deserves another chance , think it was just a bit of bad luck at villa, poor players, bad owners and toxic fans. If Klopp continues to mess things up then Stevie at Liverpool would really show his worth, great players , great owners and heroic fans , walk on Stevie, walk on.
  4. Let's just steady up, there's still a player in there , not a 90 minute player but he has some great vision. Last 20 minutes if we need something then he's a play that the opposition will not want to see on the pitch. Plus he's going to be very expensive to get rid of.
  5. Start with Nakamba in front of a back 4, then Doug, Ramsey, McGinn, Beundia, Watkins. Can't afford to lose this one despite not having a manager, if we do then we have to be odds on for relegation.
  6. After last season's manipulation of the results why is anyone surprised that it's happened again. F1 as sport is finished , it's WWE for motor racing.
  7. Purslow is a big issue, if he hasn't lined a manager up after the start we have had then it pure and simple incompetence. As soon as we lost to Bournemouth the little black book should have been out but his fan boy worship of Slippy G got in the way. Purslow has to go for us to get to the next level. NWSE need to show there worth.
  8. So he left Gerrard to manage QPR.......he's probably the biggest reason Gerrard failed and Gerrard must know that especially after his comments on how great he was which probably contributed to Beale getting the QPR job. Yea I'm loyal, 'as long as it suits me'. Beale.
  9. Unfortunately I have friends and family who are of the "Boris would do a better job" fraternity (caused more than one argument). He's the most popular Tory by a mile, he will get the nod because they are self serving morons.
  10. Learn he's not cut out for managing footballers? The ego he built up as a player (warranted) has hindered his development as a manager.
  11. Let's get someone in to keep us up and spk to Poch and co in the summer when we have money to spend, a preseason and time to plan. We can't keep lurching from one rushed appointment to the next. A decision made in haste, its Killing 12 months and a £100m plus and leaving our squad full of mercenaries.
  12. It's operating under the pressure of relegation and keeping your cool, it takes a big pair of bollox to do it and that's what we need.
  13. They were top high pressure proven managers , we ain't getting one of them , we would get an relatively unproven one.. Seen it all before, it ends in tears 9 times out of 10.
  14. He didn't see it clearly on VAR either though, otherwise he would have seen there was no contact as the appeal did. It's a farce because of its poor implementation and the refs poor interpretation. Ultimately it probably cost Gerrard his job.
  15. Well it's one better than a two horse race To come to a team as big as villa in a relegation battle is a massive task. I would argue its the hardest job in the Premier League atm. We need someone who has experience of a relegation battle pressure. If we get the next new thing in and they lose the first few games they will wilt under the pressure. I suspect the next appointment will not be a glamorous one , it won't be universally popular but hopefully it will be enough to keep us up and get a new manager in the summer to push us on. It would have been nice if Gerrard had enough to keep us up and go I the summer......but he didn't
  16. Unbeaten for a whole season ........premier League experience is a requirement.
  17. We're in trouble because of Gerrard. I hope we get a proven manager who can allow these players to find their feet again and play with confidence, like they have in the past. Ings is proven, to say he's crap, full stop, is just bollox.
  18. Smith wouldn't have took us as low as we are now but he did need to go so we could get to the next level. Purslows timing was out and its out with Gerrard as well, both should have gone earlier, at a time we could have attracted a higher profile manager. We struggled last season and ended up Gerrard and the sames going to happen now, we will end up with a compromise. Purslow has failed on the football front ,unless we can attract Poch but I doubt it looking at where we are now. What's left for him to do, if he can't get a top class manager or hasn't got one lined up then he's failed at his main job, he should go
  19. We were crap the ref was even worse than us, why didn't Mitrovic get booked for barging into Doug? A red card, just an unbelievable decision. Gave in watching after that , we wasn't going to score with him on the pitch. Think Gerrard has overseen the biggest decline in my enthusiasm for Villa in 40 years, like the Dracula of football managers , dreadful. UTV
  20. Dyche has never managed a high pressure club, how will he react to that type of pressure is a gamble. We need someone who's proven at our level even if it's temporary to get us out of the shit.
  21. He was forced to act, the owner stormed out of the directors box and he followed. Would love to have been a fly on the wall but guessing the owners will be discussing Purslow's role in the appointment tomorrow once the dust has settled. Purslow best have an appointment lined up otherwise my feeling is he will go in the summer.
  22. He will never make it as a manager in the modern game.
  23. Happy days, just hope they have a replacement lined up
