  1. If you think introducing a bit of flexibility when implementing the rules will benefit teams like villa then history shows us you would be wrong. Why can't people grasp that it's the poeple watching the video that are wrong not the system. The EUROs was a perfect example of how it should work if the people watching it are competent, the ones we seem to have are just wrong to often when there is no excuse for them to be wrong. Each week an explanation of the decisions would help. Doug's sending off is still a mystery, what the fucX happened and why?
  2. I agree, think McGinn could play there as well in a similar role
  3. Listen to one of Hitler's speaches, he never mentioned concentration camps and mass extermination of a race. Putin's a monster who's using the freedoms of western media to muddy the water for himself (in western eyes) while keeping his own people censored to the point where they think they are being attacked and threatened with nuclear destruction.
  4. This season they have beat Forest , Fulham, Brentford , Everton and Spurs. It's hardly ripping the prem up and their not to be feared. Call it false hope but I really do think we can beat Newcastle , maybe it's the fact Gerrard has gone and we looked rampant against an off form Brentford. Newcastle will start to drop points and I hope it starts with a loss to us. UTV
  5. Putin's getting desperate, Russia commenting on Taiwan as well trying to bring out China? It feels like this is coming to a head, at least in Russian terms, their propaganda is becoming more desperate. Russia's Sechin says Taiwan will return to China 'on schedule' By Nailia Bagirova and Olesya Astakhova BAKU, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Igor Sechin, chief executive of Russian oil giant Rosneft (ROSN.MM) and one of Vladimir Putin's closest allies, on Thursday heaped praise on China's leaders and said Taiwan would return to its "native harbour" on time. https://www.reuters.com/world/china/rosnefts-sechin-praises-chinese-ruling-partys-decisions-2022-10-27/
  6. Will they finish 3rd this season then? Football just doesn't work like, boyo
  7. Against tougher opposition he could operate as a number 10 behind a sole striker, he links up well and gets in the box enough. Would make us more defensive than playing an out and out number 10.
  8. Not sure if this has been posted before
  9. You only have to look at Bailey's improvement against Brentford to see how much a player can improve under different direction. If Bailey was to get injured, suspended, out of form or we need an extra spark later in a game then maybe Coutinho could play out wider on the left. Who knows until we start to find a decent style of play and some top class direction. I think Gerrard had a major affect on all of our squads confidence, time will tell but from watching this squad play over the last 2 seasons has shown it's has talent........over last 12 months not one player has improved and most have regressed. Hopefully this trend can start to reverse itself now the cloud that was Gerrard has gone. Clean slate for everyone , give them 2-3 months then judge what a player can offer us .
  10. VAR doesn't change crap decisions , it makes the chances of them happening less but a crap ref is a crap ref even when he's or she's watching it on TV. VAR should stay it just needs better standards to interpretate the rules. How Doug got sent off is still a mystery that should be explained by the decision makers .
  11. Remind me of us second season in the PL under Smith, free flowing and enjoying playing football. Problem will come when they lose a game their expected to win, indifferent results can then follow. May not happen to them but it seems to be the way it goes with teams that appear to be outperforming their squads ceiling. It's a free hit for us, keep them quiet for 20 minutes and with the pace we showed against Brentford ( I know it was only Brentford) we could easily nick a goal or two. Bailey, Beundia, Ings and Watkins are a formidable attacking threat when they play with confidence and after Brentford they should have it. 3-1 to villa.
  12. Very effective on the left side, can't believe it's more or less the first time we have seen him play there.
  13. My mistake, his contract at QPR expire may 23
  14. Have a feeling this guy's going to be our player of the season.
  15. Just read his contract expires May 2023, we need this sorting ASAP , he looks like he's going to be a Premier League player.
  16. Ramsey even found space in Gerrard's formation and was our most effective player linking up with Coutinho. Plenty of time for him to develop.
  17. He's been as guilty as most but we need to give him a chance with some decent coaching.
  18. Only scoring 2 away to spurs .
  19. Cracking game on the cards , Newcastle doing well but slipped up a bit and we're on a high. If Newcastle beat us then they are closer to top 6 than most people think, my thoughts , they are a good team overachieving, I think we canm beat them , 3-1 , villa .
  20. Yea......they were all wrong. They should now have the nouse to employ someone who would have seen through Gerrard's weaknesses and move onto someone else.
  21. Wanted him out but if he's negotiated Emery then he's proven me wrong, I'm happy as Larry.
  22. I think McGinn will benefit more than most from Emery and his detailed analysis of playing styles. McGinn has some quite unusual skills , yes he can be careless with his passing but the way he can pass players and his energy levels are both good skill sets. I think, hope, he will be a major asset Playing in a team that has no movement is a major factor that hasn't helped any of our creative talent, an area Emery (and Danks fwiw) will improve. Its a new beginning for us all and that includes John McGinn who's effort levels have never been in doubt UTV.

We need some consistency in the coaching department. Managers come and go .
