I'm afraid you are right, it's disgusting . FIFA has overstepped the mark with this one. I'm disappointed with the FA , they should have took a stand when it was announced and said we're not going, maybe tried to encourage other FA's into following suit and formed an alternative international football association, they missed a golden opportunity to rid football of these criminals who are now rubbing our noses in their shit.

The problems they have are so deep rooted that the owners need to be onboard and interested enough to sort it out, improve facilities. I'm old enough to remember manure pre Ferguson and it wasn't very pretty, I can see them going the same way now. With other clubs having larger resources they are really in a slow decline that looks pretty terminal, glory hunters will look elsewhere for guaranteed success, just like Ronaldo is.

We are starting to worry a few in the media, we must be doing something right. FWIW Brighton were nothing special and I can see them fading without Potter, got a couple of decent players but some very poor ones as well.

It's straight forward physics , the ball hit his shin then bounces towards the Brighton players boot, how can they call that a penalty, they can't say Dignes standing leg wasn't meant to hit the ball and give a penalty. Don't you think it hit his standing leg? Or do you think the Brighton player got there first (he didn't)

The ball hit Dignes standing leg before he made contact with the Brighton player, watch it again and watch the flight of the ball. Don't follow the media led opinion, their mostly clueless and I doubt they even noticed it.

Brighton wouldn't have beaten us if we had played for 180 minutes, they wouldn't have even scored if we didn't give them a golden chance, there a good side but they was poor today.

Brighton wasted more time when there manager got his yellow card. Manure did it on Sunday, experts at it and Spurs are as well. We're poor at it but the media seem to set the agenda against us when we do it.

Great game for him but he does seem to have periods in the game where the games seems to pass him by while hes flat footed. He's not the only one.

Carney could still be a top player, probably made a bad decision and had some bad luck with the manager change. Best thing for him would be a loan move, would have to be to a championship team, lower end one as well. When he had his appearance for Chelsea he had to make a very good impression, he never did that for us and he had more than a few opportunities, he won't get that many at Chelsea, maybe one more if he's lucky. He's delayed his career by 2 seasons. I wonder how strong he is mentally, he's going to need to be strong as skill and ability are not enough to make it.

Can't think of anything worse, going to watch a stand-up comedian in a venue that's so big you have to watch it on a TV while your in there. As for the 100's of shows he's supposed to be doing, I bet he won't do half of em.

I agree with much of this apart from the thrown under the bus bit, this is where we are at and if he can't replace Martinez in the system he wants to play then.........he has to go. That's brutal because he hasn't had chance to settle , will Emery give him another chance ? I'm not sure, I wouldn't judge him either way.

Our fans were so loud last night , fantastic support, could hear them most of the game sounded like the home team all the way through, even when manure scored straight after the kick off all you could hear was villa singing. Mcquire, how is he in the England squad? Looked flat footed and off the pace. Playing that game anywhere else in the world and he would have been sent off, 2nd yellow, for the pull back when Ollie was breaking through. -

Oh well we gave it a great try , undone by keeper error but the game plan was decent enough. Hard to pick MOTM, Doug , Kamara , Young and chambers all had decent games. Bailey made a difference, Watkins......mmmmm , difficult one tbh.- 264 replies

We need to know if Olsen can do the job if (please no) Martinez gets injured. It would be irresponsible to try him in the league in the position we are in ATM, the cup is the best opportunity. If he can't cut it then we need a stand in keeper brought in ASAP. We will go through on penalties and Olsen will be the hero

McGinn will play behind the front 2, same position he has for Scotland and its suits him. We have a squad, we need to use it. Need to concentrate from the first minute and start the game quickly , get amongst them and don't let them settle. Issue will be if we start to hit it long and turn possession over to quickly, this is McGinn's responsibility.
