  1. Would love to see some major investments in renewable energy. Tidal barrages would be my pick , huge potential for unlimited energy for 100's of years. If it's done right it could be virtually maintenance free. If we can become energy self sufficient everything else would become alot easier. London has a tidal barrier, stick some turbines in it.
  2. Well I do when I visit, it's so easy to do it would be rude not to. Restricting London's growth it might be physically restricted by green belt but its certainly not lacked public funding into its infrastructure, like the rest of the country.
  3. Why didn't they curb the growth of London then, if they are so far ahead. It takes me more time to get to West Bromwich than it does to London, ( from Marston Green) a city has to have a local economy to thrive and grow, this is aided by local transport systems. Living in London it's so easy to pop across the city to a specialist deli , restaurant or any other independent retailer, it enables them to thrive . In cities, like Birmingham , business struggle because they either have to be in the centre with its sky high rates and rent or they won't get the business as travel is so expensive and disjointed for them to be out of the centre.
  4. Well the west midlands has a population of 2.7m and that's in a small area. Even if it was a substantial tram or train network it would be a vast improvement on what we have now which is mix of bus companies all vying for the busy routes and a cycle network that's laughable. Hard to imagine we could build anything like the canal network we had in the past now, we quite clearly couldn't, despite not having to dig them out by hand like we did in the past.
  5. This article from is from 2015, it's a big eye opener to Birminghams past. "Birmingham finally bouncing back after 70 years says Centre for Cities City is now finally overturning a deliberate policy to stifle economic growth lasting seven decades as influential thinktank reveals Birmingham is finally becoming a boom town again" https://www.business-live.co.uk/economic-development/birmingham-finally-bouncing-back-after-8772639
  6. If there's only a set amount to go around and one area getting 90% of it then that's a problem. The TV licencing fee is a classic example where certain region are getting nothing while others get far more than they pay in. London's infrastructure has a huge influence on its productivity, give any city a decent underground system and it's going boom. How much was the cross rail system, £19b. And there's more developments planned for the future, another cross rail, north to south London and a few more projects as well. While the rest of country has a few trams and buses, it's wrong and its killing the UK's development.
  7. Had a to stop listening as well, that Steve Bunce constantly chatting crap at machine gun pace. Ryder was causing Parker problems and with his hand injury he would have taken a beating and still lost. Good call from Parker , no point in fighting in those circumstances. Hopefully Ryder gets a few pay days .
  8. Sounds like a decent plan, Brexit has sort of torpedoed my plans for spending time abroad in retirement. Are you going for a Spanish visa?
  9. Rivers a local lad , well Nuneaton, trains around Brum. Disappointed for him tonight but Sheeraz is on a different level.
  10. Great going to remote places while you are fit and healthy but once illness and old age kicks in you are in a right mess. Mid Wales is not the place to retire and neither is Scotland.
  11. Want Labour to deal with the mess they have made, they can blame them for the inevitable social welfare cuts and get re-elected in 5 years time.
  12. Think our issue was in the midfield, we lost control of the game there. Mount couldn't get a hold in the game, Rice worked hard and tried to break up play Bellingham huffed and puffed but again like Mount wasnt affective. Once we have lost control of the middle the wide players and Kane became isolated, feeding off long balls and hurried clearances. Southgates in game management is poor, once we lose control of a game he doesn't change our shape and this plays into the hands of any opposition who has a decent coach. This can't be a surprise to anyone, hes has failed at this time and time again. The real shame is the squad we have is arguably the strongest we have ever had but I can't help thinking a good coach over the last few years would have led to one of not two trophies in the cabinet.
  13. So easy to see weak teachers/managers, couple of days, as a pupil, in a inner city comprehensive school and you just know who the victims are going to be ........ Southgate im sorry son, nice bloke wrong job.
  14. They had a more affective system. Stick any of our front line in their team and they would have scored.
  15. Lets listen to the media chatting shit.
  16. Yeah for Bellingham, dear god Southgate must be on mamba
  17. There crap, not one of their players would get in our squad , Southgate has cost us dear.
  18. No protests so far, maybe Russia has allowed the tournament to be shown , be interesting if half way through it the protests started, not just pro Ukraine, just anti war appealing to Putin to stop it , the only one who really has the power to stop it, ps Southgate is a moron
  19. World cup is a perfect place to reach the Russian people, a few flags along the lines of "Putin stop the war" ......."save Ukrainian and Russian lives, stop the war Putin" would hit a big proportion of Russian football fans, is Qatar pro Russian? In fact the whole Rainbow armbands is a decent distraction from the horrors of the Ukrainian war.
  20. I can't see this happening, he will revert to type. He's had a chance to be more expansive against Croatia and Italy and chose to stay defensive and nick a goal despite needing to score and us looking terrible (second half of both games).
  21. Of all the shit things that have happened in the last few years these getting countless billions to spend to lord it over the league would be the icing on the cake, dreadful. If it does happen I hope they all do one and join a super league.
