  1. Were over the hill with the finances, our losses will only fall from here. I think there are a few clubs who are still going up the hill in terms of losses and a small hitch with the TV revenue will hit them well before it hits us. The thing is if the "big clubs" do pull away and make their own league who's going to watch them? I wouldn't and I don't think many neutrals will either, its a big risk for them. What the others clubs should make perfectly clear is that once they have made the move there will not be an easy way back in for them when the "super duper league" goes tits up.
  2. One good game doesn't mean he will leave. If he had a season like this one at any of the clubs mentioned he wouldn't be starting games, he would be risking his whole career, He needs a full season scoring goals before he should even consider leaving. Anyway the first goal was fantastic, if he was played more central, rather than hugging the left flank, he would get far more opportunities to score.
  3. Spend it on developing tide or wave generated power, once we have cheap energy then we can build the infrastructure using the cheap energy source, its a win win. If were going to have it then build it on a flyover over the motorway network. Surely the principle of moving labour to the workplace is dated, we should be moving the workplace to the labour. If the HS2 is for tourism and then there is only going to be one benefactor and that will be the same old SE slice of England, This ain't London.
  4. Filth.....not very good tbh, how they have made a great book this poor is hard to believe. Captain Philips was a good film, plenty of entertainment, the last 5 minutes was clearly a bit stuck on the end to show Tom's acting skills.
  5. Who cares, watching man city is like watching escape to victory, fiction. A club made from one mans dream and a whole countries wealth, history will not be kind. UTV
  6. I'm convinced that if he gets a run of 5-6 games for Sheffield he will prove his worth, injury apart he will become a premiership player I just hope we have the time and patience to give him his chance. Good luck to Gary, he deserves a bit of luck after his injury problems and his brother coming out as a Blue nose. UTV
  7. Hes gone now, shouldn't this be in other football? Chelsea or Man city will offer him 100,000k a week well before hes established and his career will hit the fan well before its should have done. Footballs littered with youngsters who get ahead of themselves.
  8. Perhaps I used the wrong term, let's just say they had seen a fair bit more action than the lads on ships, contact amounted to a small burst over the bows of the pirates boats. These lads were x marines, hard blokes with a real edge, one fresh from Afghanistan, think it was his 3 tour, some of his stories were very distressing. For me the Paras and the Marines are the real hard core that I would guess make up most of our special force's.
  9. On the ships they can carry guns and, they can shoot when shot at, Off the ships the guns are inbounded. The war zones are a whole different story, only the real killers end up there....... This isn't from personal experience, just chatting to a few lads that have been there .
  10. The ones who have seen action are the ones to fear, Israel, Russian, UK and believe it or not the Americans, the equipment that's in use now is a major advantage, the mini drones, light bombs.........the list goes on and on. Plenty of my x forces mates are in to piracy protection or private protection. In war zones around the world, all x marines, hard as nails and more importantly...... fearless
  11. Gabby running at Collins should be interesting, either way it's a close call, but Carroll playing against Swansea at home and playing us away is a completely different proposition. They will sit deep and he will have to put in a lot of work, Cole is more willing to run around and hassle us.
  12. Same old teams trying to use and abuse the laws to suit themselves, if he plays and scores and then gets banned and we go down can we sue them ? Ridiculous situation Anyway who cares, we should be able to beat them with or without him playing, Gabby is more important to the game imo.
  13. Hes ripped the rotten core out of a high cost, high maintenance villa team and replaced them with a low cost version who are performing to a similar standard..... He's been allowed to do it by the fans with a minimum amount of fuss great support despite some terrible performances, credit has to be given to us all. The owner has obviously outlined this criteria, hopefully before Lambert came, Lambert must have been mad tbh, to swap what Norwich had for Villa under those circumstances was a massive gamble that now looks as though its starting to pay off. I have my doubts with some of his decisions but I have a growing admiration for him and I just hope he's backed with some real money in the summer, its time for Lerner to show him the faith 99% of the fans have. 14. I like this quote, sums up what type of players we need to build a team with.
  15. VMF is good, for the money, Annexe in Birmingham is very nice and Miller and Carters is a sure bet. To be honest i have found many restaurants hit and miss, they serve nice food one week, poor the next. I much prefer to cook myself or let the Mrs do it.
  16. We should have won, better team throughout the match, how lpool set their self's up was criminal, seem to by base the midfield and played straight into our strength's, thank you very much We actually had a brummie lpool fan in the pub, acting like a 10 year old, oh well ah,Hitler was a veggie.........his dad must be a right **** rocket polisher. UTV
  17. Martinez spoke to Liverpool and didn't like what he heard, he came back to Villa to ask if we were still interested and we said no, Lambert signed a few days later. Red Bull won't buy us, they would meet resistance at a level they would not be able to cope with. I would look to China for an interested party, they have the muscle to make a massive impact. We have a future King as a fan as well as the PM and our history to boot, we should be easy to sell to oversea investors.
  18. A no pressure game at home, very rare........ we will win 3-1, Benteke the beast will storm back into form. Good odds as well for a home team with a top class but misfiring striker and an away team with vital players out.
  19. Hes not going to get any better sitting on his arse
  20. Cahill? It's a worry to me to, he has to be better than Sylla
  21. Till the end of the season, see where we are then. I'm not overly impressed with some of his actions, not giving Gardner a chance.......
  22. Is it? I think you may be wrong, in true VT style, discuss.................. Ps Happy new year. and UTV
  23. We need a captain in the middle of the park, one with enough about him to push the other players into performing when the going gets tough.
  24. Back him till the end of the season, like the majority of the 36000 or so fans who turned up yesterday. FWIW I think he will walk before he's sacked, isn't his two years contract up this summer? The players panic when they went one up was strange, the ground went quiet as well.
