  1. Can't get to this game, I have a season ticket, is there any reason not to let someone else use my client reference to buy tickets?
  2. We need to stop losing, even a draw would be a big boost, setting the team up with too many forward options isn't working and never has, 3 forwards.....2 forward and 2 attacking wingers doesn't work for us and never will with the midfielders we have, there too light weight and can't compete in 50/50 challenges. Play one up front and 5 in midfield with one of either Gil, sinclair or nzogbia behind the forward, lowton the right and hutton on the left, Vlar and okore in the middle. Either way Sherwood should pick his team then stick with them till the end of the season. Piss poor subs today, we can't create decent chances then more forwards will not fix the problem, its the midfield who are not giving the forwards the opportunity to score. UTV
  3. Difficult job with the squad we have. I think he should play 5 in midfield, 4 from Delph, Sanchez, Cleverly, Westwood and Bacuna and one from either Hill or Sinclair and leave one up front, Benteke or Gabby. Sides seem to be picking up all the 50/50 balls and many of the 75/25 ones as well, we need to make it difficult for them. I don't think were going to turn into a team who score more than a goal game, that to me means when we get in front we need to use Chelsea type tactics to keep it, ie waste time and disrupt the flow of the game, with injuries and other such negative tactics. I lost count of the time we rushed the play while we was 1 nil up, Guzan and a few others need to slow down and get the balance of distribution right, this is one area for me where Given has the edge on Guzan.
  4. No affect at all on the game, looks lost, needs to be rested but we haven't got the squad to do it. Tell a lie hes crossed the ball for our goal, play him on the wing
  5. Exposed by poor tactics, the midfield was lightweight and he had too much do and ended up doing that badly.
  6. We are the poorest team I have seen this season........ UTV
  7. Site down for me, sell out for sure I'm guessing
  8. Arnautovic and Crouch killed us at home last season, Crouch ran the show and Arnautovic crossed at will and in a devastating fashion, if Vlar can handle Crouch then we just have to hope Hutton or Cissoko can stop the crosses from Arnautovic. Reckon a draw, 2-2
  9. My feelings exactly, he will make the difference, hes that important I would rest him for cup games.
  10. Cissoko, Westwood and Delph in the first half were hopeless. 2nd half the midfield got pushed up behind Benteke and it made all the difference. Benteke won the first ball and the 2nd was 50/50 chance for our midfielders. Cleverley looked better than he has done all season, well done. Its going to be a hard run in but we have given ourselves a chance with Sherwood, his second half changes, a kick up the arse, did its job.
  11. Wouldn't have been my pick, no experience he is however better than Hoddle and a few others who were mentioned. Good luck to him. UTV
  12. Agree to an extent - but you can't argue with the fact that not many managers leave Villa to go on to bigger and better things (maybe only GT leaving for England), and not many actually go on to achieve anything of any significance. Villa is the door to career suicide....its not appealing to successful established managers, its only appealing to those who are stepping up from lower leagues, or to those who have nothing to lose. The Doc managed Scotland and Man U after us so he was an exception, Graham Turner had some success at other clubs, but generally its true. I think most people find it a very tough job mentally and are normally burnt out afterwards. This happened to Little and Gregory. How many managers of similar teams go on to better things, David Moyes Everton to Manure? Can't think of many more. Fact is, Lerner doesn't sack managers without a very good reason, he gives them the best chance to succeed in the League, to date, but they still have to perform, if they don't then they have to go.
  13. This 'Managing Villa is a bad job, nobody would want it' is media fed bollox, look at the facts Lambert was the Premier Leagues second longest serving manager with the poorest record of them all. Villa is an excellent opportunity for a good manager, they will be given time by the owner and the fans, unlike 90% of other premier league teams, money may be tight but the squad we have is strong and has been for years. If a manager isn't good enough to get the most from the opportunity they have been given, to manage Villa, then they have destroyed their own career's.
  14. Stoke will be the decider, if we lose there is no coming back he just has to go, I think he will call it himself, it really is a massive game. The pressure must be immense and I can see it taking a toll on his face and his attitude, its sad to watch on a personnel level, I don't think he's a horrible person. His bad luck is however generated from poor decisions, assistant managers is a major one.
  15. This No variations with set pieces, corner after corner with no movement. Dropping Sanchez for one bad game after 3 MOTM ones, the list goes on. The only way we are going to stay up this season is if we get a good assistant in now, because Lerner will not sack Lambert.
  16. We are not going to get rid of Lambert then the next best thing is to get an assistant in to try and pick the team up. Anyone with a bit of a strong character and a decent past in football, Paul Jewels available, no one else springs to mind
  17. Our midfield never tracked Arsenal players running straight through us, Okore was isolated by our poor tactics and lack of action when the midfield went missing. Lambert should have seen this
  18. Needs to go for his and our sake. Think it may be after the Stoke game though with us left in the bottom 3. UTV
  19. Arrows pointing to the oppositions goal would be the one for me, funny, easy to print an A4 arrow and its not to vocal or disruptive, more tongue in cheek, may even raise a smile or two. Plus if it turns into a no show or we score early, you can keep it in your pocket and say no more. UTV
  20. If you haven't watched Still Game then it's well worth a look. It's very funny.
  21. I have 3 as well, should anyone want one
  22. I don't want him to play for us again, hes an overated player that cost us 3 vital points.
  23. Hopeless at set pieces, poorest delivery of the ball i have seen from any team this year and the most frustrating thing from all of it was the fact we had at least 4 players having a go..........pick one. Sort the delivery out in training and stick to the plan ffs. Grealish was by far the best at corners, caused havoc when he came on but even then he never took them all, another of our players fancied a go and ****ed another delivery up, yet again. Its this sort of poor organization that Lambert should be sorting out, its not a new thing its been the same for well over a season. The rest of the game was very predictable.
