  1. If I was an agent and a club wanted to put a relegation wage drop in the contract of my player, I would be be negotiating for as low a release clause as possible and wouldn't be accepting the same as what was paid.
  2. The mock up looks like it's made out of PVC and that the matching shorts would be very short and very tight.
  3. I'm not sure if Moyes is who I want but that is a massive assumption. I don't think his time in Spain can really be used as evidence for this either.
  4. Acorns was at the time Man Utd et al were signing massive sponsorship deals. Villa couldn't get anywhere near those deals but thought they could. So a year with acorns and build 'the brand' was thought to be better (gambled) than being tied to a sponsor for less money for a few years. Proud for it to be on our shirts and great for Acorns but it was a business decision which was probably wrong, not just an act of kindness. That said it would be nice if it could be our second sponsor as I'm sure it's not massive revenue.
  5. While the statement is true regardless, surely that's down to the information on Wikipedia?
  6. It was probably just the poll The Mail did. As for the statement, I'd like to think that all link in with the rumours. That there is 3 parties, all who have done due diligence. They are happy to continue with negotiations and Lerner/Hollis are happy they've got enough money to buy the club. Now comes the finer details of Lerner deciding who is best for him and hopefully the club as well as all other things involved in a sale and who wants us the most. That's what I'd like to think, God knows if it's anywhere close to that but fingers crossed that it will happen, hopefully this month.
  7. They're not too bright up there are they? It was only funny because of the big deal they made about Keegan being the messiah. Maybe occasionally MON had it tagged with him but it's not really the same.
  8. Which reminds me of the league cup final. I put on a few bets on pre game in Wembley, as I was about to pay I decided Milner was going to score the first goal (think it was £5@20/1), he helpfully wrote the ticket for me. It wasn't till I went to claim my winnings I saw what he wrote was more illegible than if I had wrote it despite my many drinks.
  9. Exploring the new building at work today I found a door with mixed gender shower on it. I was very disappointed to see it was a single shower room with a lock on the door.
  10. Completely off topic but when I was in Berlin for Germany v England a few years back, one night we ended up in the Union Berlin supporters bar. Some free shots and they put on a black sabbath DVD on when I said I supported Villa.
  11. On top of this any sort of decent player amongst the bag of shit, no hopers and wasters like we've got here, is going to get frustrated and do the odd stupid thing, I know I would. Reckless, stupid and whatever else yes, but it's understandable to a certain degree.
  12. I just hope that anyone that buys us isn't an investment group looking at the short term. With the reported £75M-£100m you could see some look at it as a chance to sort us out and get us in the prem and sell on for a profit. While it could potentially be beneficial, if we don't get promoted quickly or simply can't find another buyer then we'll be back where we are now.
  13. Yes probably for the last 5 years of us being shit Its limited on numbers but I do feel sorry for those players who do care and there will be some of them that do. On the other hand you can picture Bacuna smirking now as well as the others who either don't give a shit or confident they'll be long gone come the start of next season.
  14. Ok so most are agreed regarding Gaby and what needs to happen. Forgetting about his ability and debating whether he is good enough. If he can't be moved on and does get given another chance, can he win the fans back?
  15. I had it when I was Ireland last year but not had it since its been pushed in England. I drink lager as well and thought it was alright but when they've got 4 or 5 on already, one more just seems too much. It'll be a business decision anyway, I guess they weren't selling enough Goose and thought they'd try something else. It was just nice to have something different and it wasn't too expensive compared to similar pints elsewhere.
  16. A pub I go in now and again has taken Goose Island IPA off and replaced it with Guiness's lager. They've got plenty of other lagers on anyway.
  17. I wouldn't read too much into that, of course it could mean what you are implying but it's more likely he meant that the club potentially might be sold. Of course this is Lerner so who knows?
  18. On that subject Ken Bruce said ee-veh-shum today, so its not just a Brummie thing.
  19. Sherwood got him in when he joined but it didn't continue into this season. Its another 9 months of building fitness but it's a big ask to go from that to professional football even in the second tier. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-legend-stiliyan-petrov-10009838
  20. I thought the 48 hours came originally from The Sun and then Sky sports reporting the same about the Villa fan consortium. Which said a significant break through could happen in the next 48 hours. Since then there were supposedly 3 groups with bids accepted and in due diligence, with the Birmingham Mail saying that something happening in 48 hours wasn't a likely timescale. I don't remember Mervyn King TV interview saying anything about 48 hours, just about over the next few weeks.
  21. Yeah interesting, had just seen Thetrees post on Twitter
  22. I had Long to score first Southampton to win 3-1. For a little while I hated him as much as Woodytom.
  23. While I'm still hopeful, didn't he issue a statement this time last year, which you could read as a bit of a goodbye, It didn't happen though.
