  1. Well, if the state of this thread is anything to go by, it'll be a disaster.
  2. Nice trip down memory lane there, thanks.
  3. I guess it depends what you mean by 'defending' . . . I mean, I'd stick up for friends, don't get me wrong. Verbally. I don't think I'd be doing any 'defending' that the crown was in danger of mistaking for assault though.
  4. When teaching in China, we made friends with a couple from Minneapolis, and they told a story they swore blind was true. They had a friend who was walking somewhere in the city one day during a downpour, and suddenly a limousine pulls up next to him. The window rolls down, and Prince's head pops out, and he offers the guy a lift. So he got into the limo, and Prince told the driver where to go, and he was sat in the back of this limo listening to an album of his own work (I don't think we got to the bottom of which album). Soon, they arrived at the guy's destination and he thanked Prince and went to open the door, at which point Prince shouted something along the lines of 'Stop! Listen to the end of the song!' So they both sat there listening to the end of this song in a kind of awkward silence
  5. Haven't you kind of proved Rodders' point there?
  6. Was he not? Fair enough. I think the point still stands, he hasn't used us as an advertising vehicle or for promoting family interests at all.
  7. Alright guys, I can come and help distribute this weekend.
  8. They're hardly triple-A rated investments. And he hasn't used us to hawk MBNA either. It was bought out of nothing but passion, sadly he's got bored of the hobby, like most men do when they take up new hobbies during a mid-life crisis.
  9. Always Marmite for me (not much though, should only be a hint). Mind you, I eat Marmite on pretty much everything so maybe I'm not a good barometer.
  10. We're guessing in the dark, but I would say the CPS had promised a retrial before the conviction was quashed, so it certainly sounded like they still felt confident. As I say, it's a guess at this point.
  11. Whatever happens at the retrial, I would be amazed if that could be 'proven' one way or the other. To be fair, they were right. Now he isn't. He might be again. People don't always act logically in the wake of a traumatic event. On the other hand, of course, maybe there is new evidence that she was treating the event as a payday. I'm sure it'll come out at retrial.
  12. Yeah, I was joking. You're probably right overall.
  13. We definitely have the worst manager in the league.
  14. Yeah, I think it's basically very likely to, and I think you have quite a big headstart on me there.
  15. That's only because Arsenal have yet to play. This is also why I can't win - Koscielny isn't going to score seventeen points more than Sanchez. I suppose Sanchez might not play, but that seems pretty unlikely (and I kind of don't want that anyway cos I've captained him in FPL).
  16. Well, that does rather suggest it's not for kids. Probably can't handle all that good news.
  17. Don't hate him compared to others, but don't care about losing him either.
  18. I think you're going to win that! Had a ridiculous night. Clean sheet for Lovren, clean sheet for Smalling, goal for Coutinho, own goal for Delaney, red card for Funes Mori. No end of action, not very many points. Still stuck on 124, though I do have Sanchez (c) and Gabriel to go.
  19. I'd be interested in your thoughts on Eye In The Sky Tony. I thought it was quite a good film. The premise is obviously very contrived, but it's well acted and I spent a few days mulling it over after I saw it. You seem like someone who doesn't mind a military-based 'what if', so you might get a kick out of it.
  20. It should be noted I'm not saying that Zac Goldsmith blows goats. You can imagine it, can't you? Him on his knees, taking the testes and phallus of a goat into his mouth. It's easy to picture! But I'm not saying that's what he does. Perish the thought. There's no evidence that he personally blows goats, but what I'm saying is you have to question his judgement. I mean I would question the judgement of anybody who allowed their name to appear in the same sentence as the words 'blows goats' in my mind. And I think we have a right - neigh, a duty - to question why it is that he keeps sharing a platform with farmyard animals: There's no actual evidence that Goldsmith pleasures these animals personally, I'm just asking questions, just saying you can imagine it, can't you? Eh? Eh? Eh? Nudge? Wink? Nudge? Eh? No, just asking questions.
  21. Almost exactly the same! 102 with '11' to go, but one is Bolasie and he's flagged so probably only 10.
