  1. Sinclair had 2 good games and couldnt get in the team for last month. hardly a great comparison He also was a first team regular under Sherwood until he picked up an injury, and Sherwood pretty much admitted the only reason he didn't get back in was because he'd changed to play without wingers. He then signed off on the club making the move permanent so I'm pretty sure he doesn't just want him to sit on the bench.
  2. Sinclair has already proved that lack of games from a stint at City doesn't mean a player can't come here and make an impact. If the wages were right I'd be all for Richards to join, he's on a free, can play RB & CB and is a complete unit. My concern would be more that he'd have to have an extensive and in depth medical before we signed off on him
  3. Too many loans, I'd probably take Bamford out of those. Why is it too many? Loans could be important for us You can only have two season long loans from other prem clubs so you wouldn't be able to have all three of those players
  4. Isn't Enrique still injured? Great player if we could get him and keep him fit, but that's a big if unfortunately
  5. Only away teams visit Villa Park. Give that man a medal!
  6. It hasn't been but if there's no news by the 5th June it's a well known fact we can't sign or keep anyone of note and are destined to have a dreadful transfer window...
  7. Tbh it'd be a shame if he goes as he'd just won people over and had generally been playing well, but if he does opt for Everton that's his choice. I just hope we can find a suitable replacement that doesn't cost the Earth, as well as Gardner hopefully breaking through
  8. Garbutt is a great shout, young promising player but he doesn't get a look in at Everton and he's on a free, wages wouldn't be ridiculous either
  9. Many people thought it was Paul Faulkner, clearly it isn't but the previous tweets from the account suggest it's a genuine insider at the club
  10. If that article about us getting Cleverley means Hull get Diame then we need to call this deal off! Diame is a better option IMO, and cheaper. That said I will support any signings, but seems mad not to try for Disme with that release clause
  11. I think signing this lad to a long term deal, along with hopefully Vlaar and Delph would be as important a but of business as any new signings we make before the deadline tomorrow
  12. It was a joke... His people are entirely literal. Jokes go right over his head. It wouldn't go over his head his reflexes are too quick. He'd catch it...
  13. If you provide pictorial evidence you'll be worshipped as a god
  14. Words can't describe just how badly I want this to be true. As many people discussed in the Cissokho thread it looks like we could have a back four of complete units this year and if you could get Sanchez in front of them we'd look a much more solid and resultant outfit than we have in years
  15. I was thinking that, that back four is full of absolute units and if we get a solid DM infront of them we'll be more solid at the back than we have been for years!
  16. The usual twitter link but apparently it's in the Spanish press as well and foreign press have a better success rate than ours on these kinds of things so I'm keeping my fingers crossed
  17. Senderos flicked it on and Bacuna headed it into a combination of the keeper and post, from my angle it looked harder to miss than score but it was a good reaction save to be fair
  18. He was at their ground the other day their manager has admitted that, so I'd say he's going there, it's just whether or not it's a loan. However as he only has a year left if say any move, temporary or not, would imply he's leaving by next summer at the latest rather than getting a new deal
  19. Also if you look at the squad list then unless I've missed people it looks like we have 27 players over 21! That includes Luna and Lowton as they're still here. That's not including the younger players like Grealish, Carruthers or Robinson. If people want us to bring more players in to replace departures then other players will have to leave on loan or be sold due to the squad limit. That is unless Lambrrt signs youngsters who don't need to be registered, but most people think too much youth and inexperience was the cause of our problems in the first place
  20. Whilst I don't necessarily think they'll make us a much improved side, we've already replace those three with Richardson and Hutton/Given back in the fold...
  21. Why? Will your opinion change to think he's smarter than you originally thought. He's 29 and he has one year left on his deal. He's not going to get a big contract offer from Villa so it makes a huge amount of sense for him to go wherever he will get that big contract. There's absolutely no incentive to stay at Villa. The only reason he would stay is if other clubs offer him a smaller contract and given the situation at Villa now that's not very likely. It'll change because realistically this is his last chance at a big move. Money is always a factor but a 29 year old who's just been in the World Cup team of the tournament shouldn't be settling for a move like that when he knows bigger clubs will probably also be circling. Yes Southampton may throw money at him and I understand players following the money, but it'd just show a massive lack of ambition from him while his stock is high in my opinion
  22. I think he's off and off he were to move somewhere like Man U I wouldn't hold it against him. If however he chooses to play for the 5 a side squad Southampton will be left with then my opinion of Vlaar will change massively
  23. Some random Man U account on twitter thinks we're the club who bid for Tettey. Probably bullshit but thought it'd be worth mentioning if it moves the conversation on from arguing about Ronaldinho...
