If he gets back to half as good as at his prime he'll be an immense signing. Needs wrapping up in training with his injury record though. Worryingly though another two year deal like Senderos, which indicates to me no sake of the club this summer and another year of scratching and clawing to stay in the league

People are freaking out thinking signing Senderos means no takeover will happen, but I think the length of the deal will indicate where we're at. If he signs a 1 year deal he's back up and coming in as a squad player, and it could mean anything from a takeover is imminent to still a ways off and the squad needs filling in the meantime. If he signs a 2 or 3 year deal though, I fear dark dark days are ahead for our club...

That Kaila guy is at it now too... @indykaila: We are hearing Paul Lambert held a high level meeting today. The meeting was explosive. Not looking good. #AVFC I love how one person can say something on a message board and 20 minutes later it's everywhere.

Clearly people have picked it up from TBAR but what is odd is that Paddy Power have suspended betting on our next manager at the same time. Although I wouldn't put it past them to garner info from message boards to be fair.

Hi guys, not sure how true this is but some of my friends from when I worked in America have told me that the press are starting to report over there that Ellison has bought Villa and it's essentially a done deal to be announced 'soon' Not sure if there is any truth in it as I can't find any solid stories on it anywhere, but two separate people have contacted me saying this has been reported over there today! Fingers crossed hey, although knowing my luck they're trolling me...

When he came on today he genuinely killed any momentum we had. We were 3-1 down but at least we had the ball and were attacking, he managed to put a stop to even that

We need to be proactive and not rely on other teams. It's clear Lambert has lost the players and fans so get rid of him now and hopefully the feel good factor will inspire us to one more win, because we won't get that with him still incharge. He sat on the bench arms folded at 3-1 down, no passion or desire. He knows he's going so lets not prolong it any further before he drops us even deeper into the mire...

After today's performance I think we need three teams to finish on 33 points or less as I genuinely don't see that team picking up a single point

Frankly, Lambert has to go, at this rate we won't pick up another point this season under him and today was a joke. Zero goal threat and he watched our team get pegged back for 25 minutes without making a change, and then puts two positive players on with 7 minutes left, when we're already losing and it's too late to make a difference. He's as bad as McLeish and the fact people still back him baffles me

The fact Nursey changed his story suggests no one knows the loan rules! If Lescott is on 92k he'd have to take a paycut to join anyway, depends how much desire he has to join us or play regularly

Hi everyone, I'm a new poster but I've been visiting the site for a while. Regarding Lescott, I know the link is dubious as it's from The Mirror, but I questioned Nursey on twitter, asking how we can loan him when we have Holt and Bertrand already. His story has now changed, saying it could be a move like Ireland to Stoke, where we'd buy out Lescott's contract. Take that as you will! Personally I'd love to have him here as long as it doesn't fracture the wage bill, Clark has improved but stats show when Vlaar is out our defence leaks more than The Titanic

Hello all, I'm a new member to the site, but I've been visiting the message boards for a couple of years now. I never signed up previously as I would just read the other posts from a far, but now that there's an iPhone app I decided to take the plunge and sign up. I had a season ticket in the Upper Holte for about 5 years (Block K2 in case anyone is interested) and only stopped having one once I went to America to coach football.
