  1. To be fair if this is true it wouldn't be the worst thing, we could hopefully replace Vlaar, make money and address other areas of the team such as midfield. It depends who the players would be that come in as it's written as if it could be anyone. Personally I'd want Capoue as part of that deal, as he isn't a regular there so would probably come, he plays in a position we're lacking and can fill in at centre back too
  2. Not if you're going to work there, which I suppose the players are technically doing. I had to have my whole background checked when I went to America to coach at a summer camp
  3. I'm sure it's bs, but is he any good anyway? I've genuinely never heard of the guy
  4. Anyone know if Daniel Wass is any good? According to that fountain of dodgy knowledge known as Talksport we're battling Sunderland for his signature
  5. Can honestly say I know nothing about him. Any idea on fee etc? What position does he play?
  6. Oh it's because it was a tweet from the 17th. The way it came up I thought he'd tweeted something new this evening so I only checked his tweets from today (now technically yesterday)
  7. I don't see it on his Twitter? Has it been deleted or am I blind? Both are a distinct possibility
  8. I'd prefer to keep Vlaar, but this chap was impressive at the Workd Cup and wouldn't cost the earth, so might be a cheap and decent replacement if old tight pockets decides to cash in
  9. Harry's also told Sky he's agreed a fee for Caulker so you can probably write that article off already
  10. Two good finishes tonight. If he's utilised properly he's easily our most potent goal threat while were without Benteke. He might not run the channels, link up or put a shift in like Weimann or Gabby, but play him in the right formation and he'll easily out score them both
  11. Maybe it's a straight fight between Hutton and Lowton for the right back spot, with Bacuna being used in midfield. Or if we play with wingbacks maybe he's Bacunas competition and Lambert wants to utilise Lowton elsewhere. Or maybe Lowtons out of favour and will be loaned out or sold. The only thing we do know is we won't know Lamberts plans until we start playing friendlies and see the kind of players and formations he's thinking of using
  12. They're from Southampton's academy and the deals were tied up a couple of months ago. No idea what positions they play or their ages but it sounds similar to how Arsenal snatched Dan Crowley from our academy last summer
  13. I think one of the good things with Lambert's gambles is that they can be moved on because they're cheap, and not on big wages. Definitely different to a lot of our recruits over the last 8 years or so. This is true and some have worked out to be fair so at least the duds can be moved on without draining our wage bill for years (I'm looking at you Hutton) I feel bad for Luna, I had such high hopes when he scored in that away win at Arsenal on the opening day, but that match aside he never cut the mustard at this level
  14. Which one of Lamberts cheap signings will be next? Bowery, Luna, Sylla, Helenius. They're all getting the chop. Take your pick on who's next as Lambert seems to be replacing all the cheap gambles he took with more experienced players
  15. This would be a fantastic signing in our current predicament if true! And from a decent source too! Fingers crossed if he joins our potential first choice 11 are actually looking quite decent
  16. They were in my hands all along!
  17. People are ruling us out because of the London effect, but is it not possible he'd want to work with Keane? They're both strong centre mids and maybe he'd like to work with Keane before he retires. Yes Keane was an average manager but foreigners who would have admired the United class of 92 won't care about that. It's probably not even true that we're in for him, but if we are it doesn't automatically mean he'd choose West Ham over us. Come Monday now I've said this he'll be in a West Han shirt talking about always wanting to live in London lol
  18. That is true of every signing everywhere. Why would you not take your best offer?Literally the most sensible and completely common sense post I've ever seen on hereHmm... I disagree. 'Best offer' presumably means wages offered. There are many, many reasons why you wouldn't take the 'best' offer. More playing time, more potential in the team, a manager that wants to play the football you want to play, a manager that sells the club to you or simply that you would like to work under that manager/assistant manager... These could all be factors why a player might decide to turn down a larger offer at a different club. To be fair the post was that players accept the best offer. Factors like managers, team potential etc all factor into that, not just wages. To just look at it purely from the wages offered is very black and white
  19. The Mirror linking us and West Ham with a move for Cambiasso. As it's the Mirror probably nothing in it but thought it'd be worth mentioning

  21. I see a place for him in both the systems people seem to think Lambert will favour next season. If we play with a front 3 ha can play either flank and if we go with wing backs I actually think he'd be quite effective just off the striker in a freer role, sort of like the spot Robben has been playing in Hollands system (obviously not to the same level as Robben, but beggars can't be choosers in our predicament, and utilised correctly N'Zogbia could be almost a very effective 'new signing')
  22. True but I think Lambert wants to play 3-5-2 so Richardson would fill the wide role He favoured that formation for part of his first season and tried it again last season. I think he wants to try and strengthen the back with 3 CB's and is relying on pacey players to provide the width, with Cole hopefully free to be creative in the centre without having to do much running
  23. If Richardson comes in I don't really see the problem or why fans are so distraught. My friend is a Fulham fan and he says that Richardson was their best player last season (granted they went down but we almost followed them so no world beaters will join us in our current state anyway) He's on a free, experienced, can play several positions, won't break the wage budget and he's definitely an improvement on Bennett and Luna. Beggars can't be choosers in our current predicament, so as things stand I'd welcome him. I fully expect he's only sign a 2 year deal anyway, as evidently that's the only length of contract we're willing to give out currently
