I really struggle to tell when you’re joking or not?! Granted I’ve only seen a few clips of his Davos speech, but boasting that America is ‘winning more than ever’ strikes me more of the insecure kid at school trying to convince everyone they’re amazing than ‘presidential’.

As others were I was slightly disappointed about Sarkic being recalled unless he was going to be loaned back out as 1st choice in the championship. Having watched Reina I’m starting to think he may gain more from working with Cutler and Reina for the next 6 months. Between Reina, Cutler and Heaton he could learn a hell of a lot to improve his game. Just depends whether the coaching team think he’ll gain more from playing every week.

I’m just waiting for someone to tell @Brentfordnylons he’s wrong as Dean was rubbish at Brentford and Walsall and we only need the table to tell us this Very interesting that only four of your starting team are the same. I knew you had a big turnaround of players but didn’t realise it was quite so drastic. Is it Benrahma, Watkins, Henry and Canos/Dasilva?

Very interesting developments as this market will inevitably grow. God knows how much. Hopefully she provides a bit more balance next time Amazon call her up for Villa v Chelsea!

Really?! I thought he did well defensively but his passing wasn’t great. Often he (and many others in the team tbf) takes way too long on the ball and closes off any space there was. Someone else also made a good point last night about something I noticed too - the weighting of some his passes was just bizarre. It’s like he alternated between too soft then way too hard as he was trying to overcompensate for the previous one each time. I think he’s going to develop into at least a useful squad player at this level. I think he can get even better if he gets calmer on the ball. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with him overall in this back three.

Not exactly what you are after, but this site redoes the table if no VAR was involved. It doesn't make a judgement about whether or not the decisions were correct though.

Are you saying he’s doing better because he works harder than Smith or is this a more general point?! If you were making a point about their players working harder than ours helping them get those points then I agree.

I don’t have an issue with people saying we could have done better without having a list of names...unless they are citing ‘PL experience’ as that narrows it massively, particularly considering we’re not in a position to take any other team in the league’s first choice.

Lol. You’ve not worked for the civil service have you? I imagine their response would be more along the lines of refusing to file copies of ‘speculative’ paperwork as there is no live case to put it against! I do take your point though and if Samatta has been on the radar since the summer (to come in alongside Wes as some suggested) it seems very odd to leave everything until the window actually opens.

Although what he actually claimed was Smith gets no criticism whereas Bruce got loads which is patently wrong! He didn’t actually say anything positive about Bruce in any of the posts...

I think the transfer has to be registered by midday Friday. Safe to say if we don’t hear anything tomorrow it’s very unlikely.

It’s not something I’d ever thought of but it makes a lot of sense. I’d mention it here if you haven’t already. @OutByEaster? is very good at picking up suggestions and making sure they are relayed to the club when there is the opportunity to. I definitely think they would at least consider whether changing this may improve the atmosphere as it’s such a hard thing for the club to change but has a big impact on the team.

Yeah, looks like only Aguero and Costa came from outside Spain. Both great signings but without listing all of his signings it’s very difficult to judge. I guess it’s difficult to judge anyway as we don’t know who proposed certain signings. I do think this is an appointment that we have to judge on whether or not we trust the board. Using hindsight, last summer was a bit of a disappointment. It was almost inevitable a lot wouldn’t settle quickly with the amount of players we had to sign.

Talking about lazy stereotypes... I follow most of our ex managers, it just happens not many are deemed employable so there’s less discussion around others!

Is it specific to Bruce that Bruce has claimed injury ‘crises’ at every club he’s been at? Yeah, I think it is. You said it’s an unsubstantiated claim that he has had more injuries than other managers at every club he’s been at. I just pointed out it’s his claim. I don’t hate him. I hated him being our manager, but I don’t hate him.

It’s Bruce himself that has loudly declared at nearly every club he has managed that they have had an unheard of injury crisis at some point or another, as demonstrated by the headlines on the last page.
