  1. None of them are Fowler than Gerrard though
  2. Tbh literally anything other than a standalone lion. Can't think of a single simplified standalone club crest that I think looks good
  3. I really hope we don't end up with a stand alone lion
  4. He's not getting picked over Dougie any time soon in this scenario, but luckily for SJM our midfield is much less stacked with dishy chaps than the defence
  5. I've worked in Wolves for five years and still occasionally struggle to understand the locals. I suppose you might say the two accents are a bit like French and Italian, related and mutually comprehensible to a degree
  6. True enough, but I can't see Unai changing his system to a back five on that basis alone
  7. No idea, but almost certainly has to go down as one of our worst value signings ever. No fault of his own, was signs that he was adapting to the PL but that injury completely finished him off at the top level
  8. He's just come back from a year struggling in the Spanish second division, no one is paying a couple of million for him
  9. This would make sense as Handsworth is pretty much half way between Villa Park and the Hawthorns. You generally wouldn't find many Blues fans in areas north of the city centre, while a lot of areas towards the west of the city (Handsworth, Great Barr, Quinton etc) tend to be a mix of Villa and Albion, that is amongst people support local teams anyway. You're more likely to find Blues fans in areas to the south and east of the city - Northfield, Longbridge, Chelmsley Wood, Stechford etc. would be areas I'd say you'd find the highest concentration of SHA supporters. The rest of the city beyond that is a bit of a mix really, when I was living around King's Heath and Stirchley, it seemed to be a fairly even split of Villa and Blues
  10. Was Leeds under Bielsa, pretty sure it was before a game against Derby which gave the fixture a bit of edge when they met in then play offs, which in turn arguably helped us get promoted! Still don't think we'd have beaten Leeds in the play off final
  11. This is fascinating and terrifying in equal measure Obvious joke being that as Oasis spent their whole career writing the same song over and over again, it makes them an easy group for AI to replicate
  12. Growing up in Sutton in the 90s it was almost exclusively Villa fans, with a smattering of glory supporters following Man Utd, and to a much lesser degree Liverpool. I knew more WBA fans than Blues fans and honestly can't ever recall meeting a Wolves fan in my life until I started working there a few years ago. I'd say that a clear majorities of football fans in Sutton, Erdington and Kingstanding are Villa, perhaps up to 75%. It's a lot less clear cut in other parts of the city and as others have pointed out, the more ethnically diverse inner city areas will now have lots of glory supporters of Sky 6 clubs. You'll find more Villa fans in areas which are traditionally more Blues-leaning, than you will Blues fans in Villa areas
  13. Had absolutely no idea these were still being made, nor that there were so many series of them. Just looked and the fact it moved from Channel 4 to Netflix after two series would explain it I guess
  14. I've read some bad takes on VT over the years, and this one is right up there with some of the very worst tbh
  15. Even better, the random bloke on Twitter was a Villa fan as well
  16. You'll find Celtic and Rangers themed bars all around the world, Spurs may have an inflated social media following from their recent success and being in the PL, but they will never be on the same planet as the old firm. Ajax are constantly having their players and managers nicked as well, but I suppose they're a tiny club because their domestic league isn't one that has been flooded with TV money as well
  17. And this year an English team who were in a relegation battle most the season won it. So you'd think potential signings will look at us, an English club managed by a guy with several European trophies to his name, and will see us as strong contenders/potential favourites to win a European trophy. Should provide a boost to our recruitment this year that we wouldn't have had if we finished 8th. Of course, that's until we lose to some Albanian team in the qualifiers
  18. Think it's probably a good thing for us that West Ham won tonight, players could well start looking at us as a decent chance at winning a European tournament. Can't wait!
  19. He's the original Dele Alli. 30 years old now but perpetually a promising youngster. Absolutely finished at PL level, wouldn't be surprised if he retires in his early 30s a la Gabby tbh
  20. Good manager and a world apart from Gerrard, but it does have the feel of Potter to Chelsea for me tbh. Really can't see him lasting the season at Spurs with their fans' unrealistic expectations and unbalanced squad
  21. It's a strange decision this year because it's not as though they've had a particularly dominant or record-breaking season. There have definitely been occasions when Guardiola has been the best performing manager in the league, not this season for me though
