  1. Yeah I think a couple thought the game had ended when the ref blew for a foul or something. Only 20 seconds or so before the actual end of the game (if memory is correct)
  2. Really bizarre. Honestly can't ever remember a pitch invasion getting that response before or after
  3. Im being sarcastic mate, buzzing for them, proper club Forest
  4. Yep, that would be the end for me. My enjoyment of top level football already depends on a suspension of my morals, if we were owned by someone akin to the Saudis that would be me done. I'd most likely follow a non-league team, but I can categorically state that I'd have nothing to do with the Villa
  5. And not utterly useless either
  6. Yep, this is a fair point - but his record in the Europa League was decent
  7. I've been as critical of SG as anyone but this simply isn't true. He got Rangers into the knockout rounds of the Europa League each season that he was there, which is very respectable for a club of their resources. It's pretty much the only justification I could see for his appointment at the time, as while winning the league unbeaten is an excellent achievement, he still managed to win only 1 of 9 possible domestic trophies during his time in Scotland
  8. Perhaps you're both right - it's just a bit reminiscent of the Cowley brothers going to Huddersfield after they were relegated for me, every chance his stock falls and he ends up back where he started. If he was going to Norwich or whichever other team gets relegated I'd think it a good move for him, just not convinced Watford is a great career move beyond the inevitable pay out. FWIW I actually think it's a decent appointment for Watford, but only if they drop their policy of firing the manager every few months.
  9. The other factor for me is that Liverpool might be incredible at the moment, but it won't last. When Klopp leaves, they'll probably go through a tricky period and could well fall out of the top 4. Remember that City were the last PL team to sign up for the super league, because they didnt need the money. With unlimited oil wealth to burn through, whatever happens they will continue to dominate (until Newcastles own oil wealth kicks in and allows them to challenge)
  10. This time last year, that would have been Buendia
  11. I'd rather Liverpool win the league the next five seasons in a row than for Man City to ever win so much as the League Cup ever again. Liverpool may be insufferable, but City are plastic, tinpot and destroying football in this country
  12. Much better recently and think we would regret selling him to West Ham even for big money. Reckon he'd be very good in a Moyes team
  13. Strange signing really. I'm not convinced we really need him, but I think signing him is going to be a good thing for us overall. Even if he is past his best, its a clear sign of intent and gives an indication of where we're trying to get to. Interested to see who else we bring in over the summer, and think we might be surprised by one or two who leave
  14. Forest Green have released a really scathing statement about it, said all the discussions have been completely behind their back. Odd choice for him tbh, if they aren't top of the league after about 6 games he'll be fired and could well see his stock fall massively
  15. We were all over them and they just couldn't handle him. Remember him having an excellent game the season before in the Sunderland 6-1 game too. Sad how it all turned out
  16. Was finished as a footballer after Lamberts second season, never really came back from that injury he got falling over the advertising boards against Liverpool. He'd been in OK form though for a year or so leading up to that. If he'd left after that season we'd all have a very different view of his time at the club. Everything that came after that point has tainted things badly really. Part of his problem is that football changed and as he lost a bit of pace his limitations got exposed. He was useful as a second striker supporting Carew, but never had the technical ability to play up front alone or as a wide forward.
  17. Definitely safe walking back to town but might be a bit far for a 9 year old (will take about an hour). My advice would be head for Aston station after the game and get the bus from Lichfield Road opposite the station (65 or 67) back to town - you'll know you're in the right place because you'll see the huge queues for Aston train station on the other side of the road. If you walk one bus stop further back along the road away from town (literally a 30 second walk) you will beat the queue of people waiting for the bus. Might be useful to download the Network West Midlands app beforehand to get an idea of where you're heading - signal is crap around the stadium. Hope you both have a great day
  18. Yeah last season it even got to the point where noses that I know wanted him starting for England. I think he'll come good for City next year but don't think he'll ever hit form like he was in for us the first half of last season again, he was incredible. Had us looking like outside condenders for CL football before the Covid outbreak.
  19. This aged spectacularly. DM me for betting tips lads!
