  1. Given they have so many players out of contract this season, I almost hope they stay up, so they have no players next year, get hit with a points deduction, we can hammer them 8-0, and send them down with minus points into oblivion.

    Snow Watch!

I think it's access to the ground that's the issue rather than the pitch. I imagine if it freezes over tonight and we have a bit more snow in the morning as forecast, it'll be off. A few lower league games already off.
  3. Good luck either way, but make sure to give it a lot of thought and don't rush into it.
  4. And you pretty much have to stop thinking about it as 'your house' - it won't be any longer - it'll be a business asset, and someone else's home which they don't have to let you in to if they don't fancy it, regardless of what you put into the contract and what the letting agents tell you (statutory right to quiet enjoyment trumps your rental contract, and letting agents are parasites who don't know the law - there are no qualifications needed, any prat can set up a letting agency).
  5. And the hefty commission estate agents will take for finding new tenants which could happen every six months, on top of a large management fee if you're not letting the property yourself. I'd be tempted to find an online agency who just puts it on Rightmove. Everyone uses Rightmove these days. I put a holding deposit down on my house within five minutes of it appearing on Rightmove. A house across the street which uses an agent which doesn't advertise on Rightmove has been onthe market for four months now.
  6. Bear in mind possible void periods where you're between tenants. Also the cost if you get some scutter who legs it and the damages are above the cost of the deposit, and they don't have the resources to make it worth your while going through court. and also the hassle of getting someone to leave if they really don't want to leave and you want the house back (you give a section 22 notice requesting they leave the property with a full two rent months notice, but it's onl really a request to leave - lengthy court processes are needed to actually evict someone). I'd have thought your mortgage, or at least the interest on the mortgage, would be tax deductible though?
  7. I don't know why I am going. A tanking and a lot of trouble I expect. Half five seems foolish.
  8. On another note, how about popping a suit on Lambert rather than sitting in the dugout looking like a stig? You're supposed to be in charge of this leaderless bunch of kids, so try looking like a leader ands stick a suit and tie on. Unless you're coming on to play, which probably couldn't hurt.
  9. Back or sack. No point doing nothing. Preferably back but I can't see it. Lerner has the money, it's whether he has the interest. If not, **** off.
  10. But he's got a tattoo!
  11. Lerner could sell us for 50p and a Mars bar if he wanted regardless of division. If he could find a buyer for that much!
  12. HairyHands could be a bored child, or could be in the know. I kind of hope you're a bored child HH (no offence ) as if what you say is true then Lerner is a fool and we're destined for relegation, which'll cost him a hell of a lot more than putting his hand in his pocket now. If he expects us to bounce straight back up out of the Championship then he is an enormous fool and should be driven out of the club. We go down, and we'll be there for years.
  13. I want Lambert to succeed, I really do, and while angry on Tuesday I was thinking maybe we should sack the bugger, especially if we lose to Southampton and the Baggies, I don't thin kwe should as there's no one else we could get that would give us any better a chance to stay in the league. Thing is, we're actually doing a bit better than I expected after seeing us at Forest, West Ham and Everton at the start of the season. Back then, I was thinking we were nailed on for a relegation place com the New Year, but things would improve and we'd be fine. But I just don't see any signs of improvement. I don't see the team gelling, and any sort of fluid football. It's pass around the back, and a hoof to Benteke. We started doing that at Southampton away and I was hoping we'd have grown out of it by Southampton at home. We seem to have stopped the pressing football that gave us success against Newcastle and Swansea early in the year too. It's worrying me.
  14. First name on the teamsheet for me, and always up front, not out wide.
  15. Getting desperate now. Cheeky bid for Nigel Reo-Coker?! Okay he can't pass, but we seem to prefer the hoof up to Benteke anyway - might at least provide a bit of protection and midfield steel.
  16. Outrageous miss... wonder how we'd be thinking now it he'd scored that. Different game then.
  17. Whether he could do a job in midfield remains to be seen, but he can't play left back. Stevens looks twice the player at the moment. Met a bunch of Boro lads on holiday a few weeks ago and they couldn't believe he'd been signed by a Premier League club.
  18. Heavily pessimistic. I usually make a day of going to the Villa but I ain't gonna let them ruin my Saturdays anymore. Will drive in and drive out and spend the minimum time I can there, then get on with my life. 4-1 defeat is my bet. I know, ever the optimist, but I think we might snatch one!
  19. What a pile of wank. Pass it around the back four, then to Bannan, then back to the back four, and lump it to Benteke. Great game plan against a League Two team. Lose the next two, and fail to qualify after that, and I think Lambert needs to go, sadly.
  20. I guess in this sort of situation it's a good idea to whip the camera phone out, take photos of the cars, the impact zones, the surrounding area, the inside of the other car if you can (to show there are no people in there) - suppose it helps, but like Juju says, if it's cheaper/easier for the insurance company to just settle and bump everyone's premiums a bit, then it's probably quids in for the lying scum. Would be good if the piolice took an interest and tried to prove that the other passengers couldn't possibly be in that car, then throw the book at the fraudsters, but it'll probably get dismissed as a 'civil matter'... even though it is not.
  21. The thing with a player's worth though is it's subjective. If Everton, Spurs or Arsenal came in with a bid of £6-8m, then I imagine we'd tell them to do one. Therefore he is 'worth' a lot more. Whether someone wants to pay what he's worth to us is another thing - I'm sure no one does, but he is worth a lot more than that to us - and we decide his value.
  22. Capacity 26,034; average gate 26,625....?!
