  1. Complete non-issue. He obviously isn't wiping his arse with £20 notes. I'm sure he can afford more luxurious toilet roll. If I won a grand (or a hundred quid or something) from a mate, I'd have done something similar. It's a joke. The Sun's write-up yesterday was embarrassingly sensationalist.
  2. BBC website, Weather. Search for city, Birmingham. Top result: Birmingham USA. FFS.

Having just looked at the fixtures list, I think we'll have a much better idea if we're going down or not very soon - on 11th December we will have just played Reading, QPR, Stoke and Norwich on the trot. 8 or 9 points needed from that I think.
  4. Absolutely. For every Newcastle (which a lot of people think will happen to us if we go down), there's a whole lot of Forest, Wednesday, Sheff United, Leeds, Ipswich and so on. We'd lose our few experienced players and probably our better youngsters, and I don't think the Championship is a league for a team of youngsters learning the trade. Add in the extra TV money for next year and I don't think we'd be a top division regular again for a long long time. It's a bloody massive season.

I think Lambert is doing things the right way. I think we'll turn a corner and get a couple of decent results together and move up a bit. I think we'll finish 14th-17th. I'm still shit scared of relegation though. And this is NOT the year to go down!
  6. Indeed. I have put certain unnamed poster/posters on ignore, but it seems I can't get away from the posts as everyone keeps engaging him/her/them in 'debate'.
  7. A clearing in the woods behind me at Swindon shouted that he hopes Di Canio's wife has a miscarriage. I wouldn't want people taking pleasure in Villa going bust because of him. Always a shame for a club to go bust these days, when the money is so mad in the game.
  8. Having my first haggis tomorrow. I'm intrigued.

Poorly spelt drunken post there. Never mind. Up the villa.

For what it's worth I think we are very much in trouble. I do hope hat things will come together in the secondhand of the season and we will be fine, but at the moment you can't dismiss the spectre of relegation with ur current form. Is a big season. I think if we stay up then next season we will be a decent team. Even if we went down I would be wanting to keep lambert. After all, who the hell else would we get?! I just think this season is make or break for the villa. Big three points today. Massive three points.
  11. He has come on a lot in the last few games. Looks a very competent player at the moment and is only getting better. A massive presence for us at the moment and I hope he continues to improve, I had my doubts a few weeks back but the lad(can't believe he is only 21!) is proving me wrong. Good for him.
  12. He plays. We win. I like the kid a lot.
  13. Go to your username at the top, then My Settings, and there's Ignorereferences on the left. Enjoy!
  14. I don't think he's adaptable enough for the modern game. Things have changed since his most successful days, and I think he's too stubborn to change with them. Thought he'd be a Villa legend a few years ago, so it's sad to see how things have turned out for both of us. I am glad he's not proving a great success at Sunderland though.
  15. The ignore list. Haven't been able to read the Villa forum recently due to someone arguing the toss over every little thing and basically talking bollocks page after page. Very happy to find the ignore function! I just wish other people would find it too rather than engaging in pointless irrelevant debate.
  16. I have one, and love it. Was worried about it, as I also love the feel and smell of paper books. I said to myself I'll read fiction ont he Kindle, and non-fiction on paper, so I get the best of both (and it makes my bookshelf look high-brow!). I love it to bits now though, and find paper books really inconvenient. Having to hold it open to see the text, turning pages... seems so archaic now! I found the last paper book I read a right pain in the arse. The only problem I have is I love the look of a bookcase, but I've gone completely digital with my music, and think it's going that way with my books now.
  17. The more ui think about this, the more angry I get. This is police state shit. When did the right to not be offended get enshrined in law? You don't get 12 weeks for burglary ffs. I can't believe more hasn't been made of this. Offending someone is now punishable by jail. There should be **** riots for less than this.
  18. Utterly preposterous. That's a 20 year old bloke that isn't going to be able to get a job again. A life ruined for telling a joke. Very, very dangerous precedent, and the sort of thing there should be a lot more fuss about, but of course there won't be due to the moral panic about paedophiles and anything concerning them.
  19. Wins the ball well, but I'd rather see our other three strikers at present. Seems a shame that Weimann hasn't seen much action since Benteke arrived. He's got time, and gets in good positions, so I just hope he can improve his finishing.
  20. Dunno, do they? He's black and reminds me of Savo, so not sure what your problem is mate.
  21. The Black Savo. Two outstanding chances, two disgraceful finishes.
