  1. I don't get this. Are you saying the number matters more than the significance? Anyway I say no 19 next year, but I wouldn't retire it, I know it seems a daft thing to say, but with 1-11 having been used since time immemorial and for the distant future, it's quite a loss, if you know what I mean. 19 isn't a 'core' number so easier to 'dispose' of. I know it's illogical, hence me voting for the 'unsure' option
  2. If his number was 1-11 I'd be saying no, but as it's 19, and with the 19th minute applause becoming a part of the club recently, I think it would be a nice gesture.
  3. Makelele made a career out of that. Indeed, and I've no problem with keeping the ball (unlike some who shout 'forwards', or 'this way' every time we playing it sideways to keep possession...grrr...), but you can see he wants to go forwards, but lacked a bit of confidence in the first half, which is understandable with the jump he made in the middle of the season. Once we were more comfortable though, he really shone. Lambert certainly has an eye for potential.
  4. It makes you wonder how much the crowd matters. It's easy to say that the players should give 100% every week regardless of the atmosphere, but they're only human and I know that thousands of people cheering me on would give me an adrenaline boost, while thousands getting on my back would make me nervous. It's good to see our attendances have picked up over the last four games when we have needed the support, and it's notable that we've been loud twice (QPR and Sunderland) and had good performances, and had two fairly flat atmospheres (Plop and Fulham) which gave fairly flat performances. It seems we really are the 12th man. Let's keep up the 37k+ attendances, and keep the place rocking. Last night was the best atmosphere since we thumped the noses. Cracking stuff.
  5. I think he's looked nervous so far, usually passing backwards rather than taking a risk as he didn't want to lose the ball. He also ducked out of the way of a cross in the first half which I don't like to see. However, when the confidence kicked in in the second half, I thought he was excellent, and his one-touch passing is great to watch. Hopefully that second half will give him (and the others) the confidence going forward to really kick on.
  6. If we signed that rocket polisher Taarabt I'd send my season ticket back.
  7. Already done this when I was emailed about it. Would be an excellent start. £45 for Norwich indeed...
  8. Got the train from New Street at 08.45, and an open return back so I can get any train back. Currently about £30 for that. Not too bad.
  9. Fancied it, but not at £45.
  10. Sounds boss, I'll give that a crack one day. Cheers both!
  11. I made this as well tonight (well started it yesterday and finished it off today) **** amazing it was, not really my type of curry I prefer them spicier but that really is restaurant quality, unhealthy as **** so I won't be making too many of them but I've got a fuckload to freeze so it's all good. Hairy bikers recipe if anyone fancies the ingredients and shit let me know and I'll put them on here for ya I fancy a bit of that if you don't mind...?
  12. No - the 'amnesty' passed the previous week I believe, so 10 yellow no longer carries any ban. Same for I think Matty Lowton, who is now on 9 - if he gets booked again, he won't receive a ban.
  13. Went for his neck didn't he? Dirty little bastard. I'm surprised no one's reported this to the police - I believe if someone reported it, they'd have to investigate it as an assault?
  14. Lucky he's at McLaren then...! I love how Webber tried to lay his tyre like a Mario Kart banana skin. Better luck next time Mark.
  15. Pizza with curry on it is the breakfast of champions.
  16. Tricky one that. The temptation would be to plough them down, but obviously not a great idea in the long run. I think I'd have pulled over and waited a minute, so at least they don't get the satisfaction of holding me up.
  17. I'm still not sure he's a left-back. He just doesn't seem that competent at defending (though he's been much better of late), but has a great cross on him and good vision for a pass. If we have another left back next season, I can see him being given a go further forward and I think he'd look good there.
  18. You don't need to pay it anyway. There's no such thing as detection equipment that actually detects, and you are under no obligation to let them into your house, whatever the TV licence people think. I am happy to pay it though. Well worth it for the likes of Africa this year.
  19. Peter **** Pannu. I still can not believe that's his real name. Amazing stuff.
  20. Interesting the comments from thsoe that have seen him more personally. I always saw it as arrogance, which is a trait that I really dislike - maybe it is shyness, which is kind of cute. Bless him.
  21. I think that's unfair. regardless of skills I have always appreciated his attitude, particularly towards the fans. He always goes out of his way to show his appreciation to the support. I hope he comes good for us I really do. I haven't liked him since the youth cup (or was it league... I don't remember!) final a few years back. We won, and all the kids were celebrating like they'd, well, won a cup, like they should. Delfouneso just walked off as if this sort of thing was beneath him. Seems to fit in with the old Billy Big Bollocks rumours that were around a few years back.
  22. If they invaded now I expect we'd be a bit pissed off. Likewise I certainly wouldn't support us invading the Faeroes now, or, for example, Mauritius. If however the Shetlands had been occupied by Argentines for generations, indeed, since before the UK was established, then it'd be just the way it is and nothing to moan about. Like the Faroes being Danish, for instance.
  23. You know the Falklands are hundreds of miles from the Argentinian coast right? They're not even in Argentine territorial waters. Perhaps on this basis the UK should claim the Faeroes. And maybe Ireland. Or perhaps France wants to put a claim in on the British Isles?
