  1. Remember the days when the internet was open and fun? No bloody age checkers, or GPDR or cookie banners. No popup blocker messages. and the courts hadn't yet mandated that my ISP must block half of the internet. Sites didn't block me for living in the wrong country, either. The internet was a lot better 15-20 years ago.
  2. I just had a response to an email I sent to a repair company requesting a quote. I sent the email at the start of January. they didn't apologise or give any indication that they thought there was anything unusual about replying 2 months later. I've obviously already had the work done, but in May I'm going to reply asking them to attend urgently in July.

    Liverpool

They've been to the CL final 3 times in ~15 years, winning one of them. They're not as successful as they once were, but they're a massive club now, not just 'historically'
  4. Thought I'd check how much it costs for one from the early 90s. **** me. Beautiful car though!
  5. For months I've been toying with the idea of getting myself a TVR Chimaera to dick about with at the weekend. I'm almost certain that the massive smile it puts on my face would be wiped out as soon as I see the repair bills every few months. But I'm still tempted.
  6. I don't think so. He's 27 next month, and his career has amounted to a good six months in the Championship. I just don't think he's very good.
  7. It's been a few years (shit, I just worked out how many, it really has!) since I was in your shoes, but when I interviewed for a supermarket job while at uni, my interview with the manager lasted about 10 minutes. I got the impression it was mainly just an additional filter to weed out anyone who turns up pissed with racist tattoos.
  8. Men this wealthy didn't buy the team to dick around in the second tier on a shoestring budget.
  9. Pride. Enjoyment. Excitement about the next game. It's bloody been a while hasn't it? Welcome back, Jack. I don't think I've got a bad word to say about a single player today, that was cracking. Shame the second half slowed down a lot, but I'll take it. Derby were absolutely appalling, which didn't hurt. Next week will be a much tougher game to go in to.
  10. I'd probably go back even further. I loved the likes of Mellberg and Carew, but he's comfortably the best player to come through our youth system in my lifetime, and genuinely being one of our own makes him that bit more special. I'm going to be absolutely gutted when he leaves.
  11. Maybe he does, but listening to his interviews, I doubt he can pronounce croissant.
  12. If he's French, sure, but he's a cockney ffs! Henry all day long, I don't care what he tells himself
  13. VAR and an automatic booking, and this problem goes away overnight.
  14. It he keeps this up I'm going to keep him in my basement until after transfer deadline day.
  15. The gap is 5 points (+ a game in hand) with 11 games to go. Stranger things have happened.
  16. This is going to be one of those games that for years, I regret not getting a ticket...
  17. Then why do you think he's at small heath when we could have recalled him? We're not exactly spoiled for choice in that position. I can't imagine he'll ever play for us again.
  18. It's an incredibly shit situation, because 6 months is a pretty awkward length of time to try and bring someone in for, we'll probably end up just trying to plod on being down 1. These things happen, and I wouldn't be even slightly annoyed if it wasn't for the fact that she knew and took a short term role anyway, knowing she wouldn't be here for it. I think it should be considered fraudulent, frankly. If she just found out a few months in, shit happens, but this is a real kick in the teeth. But it's illegal to ask if a woman is pregnant at the point of hiring, so I'm clearly a disgusting advocate for the patriarchy, and there's no problem with her taking a job she knew she wouldn't stick around for.
  19. Recruiting someone for a 1 year maternity cover role, then 6 weeks in to the role, her enquiring about maternity cover because she is pregnant and will need to go off on maternity leave in 4 months. And knew about it before taking the job. For 12 months. HR insist I can't recommend an abortion.
  20. I think I'd go postal if I could hear a drip from someone else's property. In my first house, the walls were so thin I could hear next door flipping light switches. I'd be in bed absolutely seething, absolutely certain they were turning the lights on and off just to **** with me.
  21. Yeah, it's referenced in the article. What they seem to think the problem was is that the technology at the time wasn't sufficient to let every bellend with a phone have their say. It's absolute idiocy. I think I'd punt £49 their way if I was a manager about to play them though.
