  1. I have to say it is a very provocative and clever act by Iran to seize a British tanker. They know there is absolutely no appetite for military conflict at the moment. Expect the rhetoric to slowly turn from "diplomacy is the only route to resolution" to "If they do this again we will be forced to defend ourselves". It may take a few months, but slowly Prime Minister Donald Johnson will please the nationalist Brexit fanatics that have been fantasising about the British Empire by bloodying the nose of the Iranian extremist savages. Teach them not to mess with the British, we won the war don't you know, we don't need trade deals. Expect this rhetoric to ramp up right about the time that the no deal Brexit deadline lurks closer. Farage and Widdecombe will warn us that when Iran join the EU that we'll invaded by hundreds of Jihadi Johns. The EU army didn't do anything to help us, so we'll sort this out ourselves, that's what the Orange one would do! Commence Operation Barbrawindsor.
  2. Yup, I agree but a sold out Villa Park is magical place to be.
  3. If you want serious football analysis listen to the Totally Football Show. On a partisan football club social media channel, give me Mr Cheese, 'Jack the ripper, chicken dipper' over Mr Wannabe MOTD commentator. I can understand a bit in the days where intelligent football analysis was thin on the ground how he could wind some people up. I moaned and groaned about him, some of things he says are ridiculous. However I quite like him at times. Also, he feels like home and that's a nice thing after a few years of love/hating Villa. Welcome back Captain Jack.
  4. I had fun replacing the word 'duck' in this sentence with rude words.
  5. It's easy to criticise and offer absolutely nothing in return. +1 for the SGC fanclub. I enjoy reading the opinions of those that go and watch the youth teams play because it's something I've never done, or ever would.
  6. There's a £90 elite version. What's the difference/do they think people are stupid? That is daylight robbery. £55 for a shirt that costs a few quid to produce is taking the biscuit. Charging £90 is taking the cake, biscuit and the piss all at the same time. Yup, I will be sporting my Acorns shirt again this season.
  7. Even with Douglas I would really like us to sign him, however it might be worth waiting until deadline day and bidding what we think he is worth and not what Leeds want. The valuations being touted are ridiculous. I'm guessing that Leeds probably do need the money, but much like us with Grealish last year, the money is pointless to Leeds because they wont able to replace Phillips with equal or better quality. I'm also guessing that Bielsa is a massive pull, Phillips is in no rush and Leeds will consider themselves contenders next season. Phillips himself should think about it. His career could end tomorrow with injury, he could have a stinker of season and not get the opportunity next season to sign for a better club. Leeds could fail again (like Bielsa's teams always have done) and he'll be stuck trying to stand out in league where it is really difficult to stand out. We are a bigger club than Leeds (sorry Leeds fans, I'm a partisan Villa fanatic). He's an interesting player, but he's not worth throwing stupid money at.
  8. One of the Villa physios also posted a video from the same place. I expect the announcement tomorrow.
  9. Whenever I've heard Richard O'Kelly talk I've always got the impression that he's a thoroughly nice bloke. I don't quite know why.
  10. You'll need it. How many right backs have you got at the moment?
  11. A very exciting signing, a good amount of first team experience and lots of potential. And the Tuenzebe chant fits his name perfectly #justsaying #youhearditherefirst
  12. I hope so, a few years ago I felt he was easily good enough for a lower PL side. That's us now. He's a bit of a maverick, not as much of a team player as I think most coaches would want as their solo striker, but capable of pulling something extraordinary out of nothing. A good AfCoN for Kodjia is a massive bonus for us.
  13. Let's hope so, it will be a welcome surprise. He didn't really get much of an opportunity last season, and I doubt he will this season. However, he's a good option to have as your second striker if your main striker is injured or out of form. I'm not sure what Kodjia will think of that though.
  14. Last night my cat shat in on the carpet, I didn't notice and went over it with the Dyson. You know the kind the rotating brushes at the bottom.
  15. This lad really wants to play for us, not only that, he seems to really enjoy it and care about it. Obviously, he is an excellent player, physically he has everything. He's tall, strong, agile and quick. He reads the game well, has good technique and doesn't waste the ball. He's aggressive, keen to improve and has a point to prove. He's the John McGinn of central defence.
  16. He's got absolutely no chance of making it in a Premier League midfield. If he makes it here it will be one of the most remarkable stories of our recent history. If he were to fulfil his potential he'll do well in the Championship. We should be looking to move him on, but I imagine he's another we ballsed up by paying him too much, hence the loans to Scotchland.
  17. We should quote United a price of a trillion pounds and see if they will pay it.
  18. I'm ok with weird. What I'm not okay with is lies. He's making that up. As if he paints buses, it's something an 8 year old would say. Boris can't open his mouth without lying.
  19. Tend to agree, I think Boris is a bit daft. He's a canny strategist and will prove to be quite popular. But he's impulsive and undiplomatic. He'll be divisive in his own party and ultimately will be toppled by Brexit.
  20. What a craven shit stain. I would have liked to have seen him try to do that to a man of equal size to him. The Tory bell ends applauded him for it too.
  21. It's immature, but that's all it is. Talk about faux outrage.
  22. Average Joe on the street that doesn't know anything about the world or politics like the idea of 'being tough' on things and 'getting a deal'. Simple concepts most people can understand. Being tough and getting deals. Everything in-between is white noise. Forget what they actually do. It's the vacuoussound bites that matter. The bit when Gove went off about Jeremy Corbyn was **** embarrassing. He had rehearsed that in the mirror, he must have looked tough when he practiced. On reality he just came across as a massive word removed. Although in fairness, they all are. I particularly like Rory Stewart's tactic of pretending to be less of a word removed than the rest of them. Not a hard strategy to pull off mind, but an effective one. This country is a depressing mess. We're ****.
  23. Did Jeremy Hunt just indirectly say that because his mixed race children don't get bullied at their expensive private school, that therefore in Britain racism doesn't exist?
  24. I heard or read somewhere that he didn't observe Ramadan at Wembley, because he wanted to be at his best. Against West Brom he said he didn't feel like himself. He also said he hopes God will forgive him. I'm pretty sure McGrath is absolutely delighted with the guy, he scored at Wembley!
