  1. I was impressed by FIFA, and the graphics are obviously great. I'm just saying I think the jump is smaller than previous generations.
  2. It was the bad acting that got me when I watched the first season. I could have gotten over everything else and sat through a fairly entertaining show. But the acting (plus the dreadful dialogue) made it unwatchable for me. Gave up after 1 season.
  3. I'd say basing your current buying preferences on one bad experience 20 years ago isn't the greatest idea. Land Rover are far form perfect these days, but much has improved in the past 5 years, let alone 20. Also, it's estimated that 75% of all Land Rovers ever sold (since 1948) are still on the road, so you were probably just unlucky
  4. Had a go on one last night (mate's got one) Quite impressed with Fifa. Need for Speed, how can a racing game not have a 2 player local option?! Actually had fun playing COD for once! But we were playing locally, not online, which meant we were reasonably competetive against the bots, as opposed to getting owned every 2 seconds by some clearing in the woods. One thing was I wasn't hugely impressed by the graphics on any game. I know it's early for them to be getting the most out of the machines, but they don't blow me away. I guess we're getting to that stage where things like that will level out?
  5. I'm guessing wee Barry B? I'm doing shit now. Was winning every league I was in for a while. But alas, now I seem to be following trends rather than predicting them, and subbing people in at the end of their purple patch. Still rate my team highly, hopefully I'll get a change of luck
  6. Yeah this. I've played a whole game with one (an official 80 quid jobby, not a £10 knock off) It was like playing with a rocket powered ball. I was in goal and I was having to take my kicks (out of my hands) at about 60% because at full power I was comfortably reaching the opposition keeper in 1 bounce That was the most noticeable thing for me. I didn't notice the movement so much, it was just that you could kick it so much harder and further than anything I've ever used. Hard to explain, but it didn't feel right. Agree with this too (God I feel dirty) Don't think there was much special about 2002, 2006 or 2010
  7. 20 years ago? Yeah I'd expect prices to have gone up since then Incidentally, if you take inflation into account, the OTR price of the most expensive Defender currently would be around £18,000 in 1993. So it's hardly bucketloads more expensive is it?
  8. That's what Stevo said. huh?
  9. I don't bench like that ^^^ but you should definitely have an arch in your back, but your butt should never leave the bench. On my top set I definitely feel it in my lower back, it's not just a chest exercise (obviously that's the dominant muscle though) I'm not sure a belt would help, but you definitely use your lower back.
  10. The price of the new range rover has gone up. The rest of the Land Rover product base has remained fairly steady. And the Evoque is a very cheap (relatively speaking) alternative to a proper Range Rover. But yeah, the East will pay a lot for luxury vehicles. It's basically why JLR are doing so well. If you were surprised by the price of the F-Type you weren't guessing very well. Tata haven't invested heavily apart from their initial purchase from Ford. And seeing as JLR recently posted half year profits of over a billion quid, it looks lik emoney well spent. The Range Rover has always been a luxury item but I was amazed how much the Defender range has gone up: I can't get my head around a £30k Defender. It was Clarkson who expressed his surprise at the price of the new F-Type. As for Tata investment it looks pretty impressive when you drive past both Castle Brom and the engine plant north of Birmingham, but of course they could be just empty sheds. But Tata haven't paid for those (not sure what the empty shed comment means). JLR have paid for them. It's not like Tata have given JLR a load of cash to buy that stuff. You're buying a pretty high spec Defender to pay over 30 grand. The vast majority of that range is priced under 30k (comfortably under, in fact) The fancy Defenders on AutoTrader peak at £50k - secondhand. Only Special/limited editions or highly customised Defenders, because brand new, buying directly from Land Rover, I can't get a Defender to cost more than £45 grand ish. And that's taking the highest spec and literally going down the options list and adding the most expensive of everything (not considering that some options won't be compatible with each other so that's unrealistically high) So I don't think someone customising a Defender andselling it for a fortune reflects what Land Rover are charging people
  11. I'd say "yo" was still pretty yam yam. None of my Birmingham friends, and a few have strong accents, would pronounce it like that
  12. He's missing too, it'll be Paulo Gazzaniga as he came on Sunday. Fair enough. I don't know much about Gazzaniga so not sure if that's a good thing or not But still, when Boruc isn't cruyff turning he's been pretty good so can't be a bad thing that he'll be missing
  13. Well I'll be... I got the first 2 but I'd have been fooled by that third one.

  15. Me too. I predicted he'd be a failure and was unhappy when it looked like Martinez would become our manager. He's proving me wrong so far. Although I would say, we all thought Steve Clarke was the Dog's danglies this time last season. (I'm not saying Clarke isn't a good manager, but compared to how he was viewed this time last year)
  16. I was a proper mark back then too. Way better when you're like that I think.
  17. The pop for Austin when he appears in Mankind's title match (the "butts on seats" match) is the biggest I've ever heard

  19. Been watching a lot of wrestling lately on YouTUbe. Just for nostalgia really, but stumbled across some matches I'd never seen before that are good. Orton vs Mick Foley and ECW One NIght Stand as a whole, for example. Great stuff. I also stumbled across the first 2 episodes of Raw from 1999. Absolutely brilliant stuff. I'm sorry, but wrestling was actually brilliant back then. Also been trying to get back into the current WWE but it's just not happening. I like a couple of the wrestlers but it's pretty crap. How long has The Great Khali been in it? I think he's the worst wrestler I've ever seen on WWF/E Also, what's with all the weird camera angles? It's like they're trying to make it into The Bourne Identity.
  20. He used to play for Derby County in some capacity, apparently.
  21. I'd spend it all on Charlie Adam, Dimitar Berbatov and compensation to buy out Harry Redknapp's contract and replace myself with him. Job done. Champions League here we come! Don't see why not . We've already spent millions on compensation to other managers as it is and currently have a midfield who couldn't trap a bag of cement plus strikers who can't score so any help would be welcome. The worrying thing is, you're serious.
